Again, this is an insane thing to say mainly because it isn't true. There's 3 months of football to sit through yet and you will watching those as if they matter.
-
Hopefully. A clean break from a lot of our players is needed, including him. There will be buyers and not least because Armstrong himself will push for it if he feels more valued elsewhere. He's had two cracks at the PL now, anyone suggesting we'll be able to motivate him this summer to fire us back up to the PL only for him to be replaced again feels deluded.
-
The players we have at the moment have proven they cant score goals at this level, in some cases over two seasons, so yeah I want them to be replaced, sorry to be so wet about that.
-
Sorry but this attitude is bizarre, it kind of works for youngsters but telling Armstrong "sorry mate, not good enough at this level so we'll call you again next season" is only going to piss him off. If he's not good enough then lets be ruthless and not want him back next season too. I have no issue with him leaving but not replacing him and then calling him back next season seems stupid.
-
I think he's crap at this level thats quite obvious but if we're not replacing him then yes. He's the only one of our attack I have seen score goals for us on a regular basis.
-
John Percy stating Armstrong might still leave for WBA on loan so we could end up even weaker in attack but at least we're preparing for next season
-
Again, preparing for May when we are here in February with 3 months of football to go through is crazy and the apathy will only manifest itself on the pitch more and more.
-
Romano hasn't been told what to say by the players agent yet you mean.
-
Most sensible thing we can do at any stage is improve the squad in the immediate term and longer term at any given opportunity. The idea that you get to the prem, get half way through and just sack it off is far from sensible however bad it is for a variety of reasons but not least because fans, players and coaching staff all need to be motivated to bother for the next few months and beyond, including next season. No idea of that circumstances that have led us to not improving in the two main areas we need to this month but not doing so deliberately would be a monumentally absurd choice.
-
Stop trying to be ITK by reading stuff online and posting it as fact is the lesson here.
-
Agreed. 2 goals isn't enough to get in many other PL teams on the regular basis he can get here.
-
It's interesting that just under 2 years ago a team with Meghoma, DIbling, SAA, Doyle and Ballard all started against West Ham u18's and was demolished physically in a 6-1 defeat despite technically being on a par with them. These same players are being used as examples of how the academy has failed them by not giving them first team football. I think people just need to remember how young they are and how big the step up is. The lad who got a hatrick for West Ham that day signed for City this summer btw.
-
Just out of interest what is that supposed to look like?
-
These two and some others of similar age around that time were stitched up by the fact that they signed for a club relatively settled in the PL and was making a niche for itself in giving young players an opportunity and then immediately has found itself in a relegation fight, promotion fight and relegation fight again. Not an environment they were expecting I imagine and only a sublime talent and physical beast for his age in Dibling has managed to survive.

Yeah bit of a strange one but it’s been clear since last season ABK was a problem and now two managers not playing him will maybe start to silence the people clamouring to get him back in. As always though winning matches will reinforce anything.
-
He also nearly got more points than he did this season, if ‘nearly’ is allowed to be an argument 🤣
-
Local press did ask fwiw. Can be found on the daily echo site.
-
We have been playing a man marking system all over the pitch since Jurics first game. He talked about being a Bielsa fan early on.
-
He’s scored 3 goals since he’s left and done nothing to suggest he’ll be a 40m player. I liked him but he was hardly tearing it up in the Championship was he. Also, we can all pick players we like and compare them to players we don’t like and don’t play in their position to make our point sound better. Maybe he’ll do alright at Everton but selling someone we didn’t need and hasn’t done much since is perfectly okay.
-
I’m not trying to cause problems. I just wanted to know when he posts things with such certainity does he mean he’s heard from a source of his own or has he taken it off twitter 😂 I’m only trying to work out whether his posts should be of interest or not. And now every post he makes he’s bitter I even asked ffs 😂
-
Did asking you where you get your info from really touch this much of a nerve? Just trying to work out why we should trust you when you post things or whether you are getting them from somewhere on twitter, that’s all. How’s this loan going anyway?
-
Talking of horrendous you are in other threads quite happily declaring "arma" is not a PL striker and it's hilarious the club thought so. So how do you suggest the club dismiss him as a PL striker but motivate him to fire us back into it next year again if it adopted your mindset?
-
Just on this, it’s cool on paper getting championship promotion experience but in reality this lad signed for a PL club because he wanted to play PL football. Telling him ‘we don’t think you’re good enough here right now but we’ll be back in touch next year when we’re in a lesser league’ is probably quite demotivating. Feel like if we’re being ruthless then it needs to be in the Championship to a large extent because the same would go for Armstrong…‘hang around until next season lad, we’ll rate you again then’
-
And as I explained in that thread at that time, you seem to be under the impression the charge, investigation and punishment can all be concluded in a timely fashion when it’s most convenient for you. That’s even if you get past the daft idea of deliberately breaking the leagues laws being a sound business plan.

isn’t there some sort of tax perks out there? That will help but yes I agree if wages are your over riding desire then here probably is better, maybe slight hopes of an England recall too, but it’s slight and if Europe and/or winning something is a motivation then Galatasary would be tempting.
