I did try and tell people this last week but people insisted we were being super professional and above Boro. The reason our media strategy was so poor/non existent was evidently we were guilty as sin and had nothing to fight back with. We hinted at saying it was a rogue employee but that immediately got found out to be horseshit. We obviously couldn’t say the first team staff/manager didn’t know and we couldn’t say it was a one off thing. And if you ever needed further proof of how fucked we were we sent MLT out at half time at St Mary’s to beg the fans to stop singing about it 🤣🤣🤣

it’s a fair point but it’s the traits that matter. The humility and desire to coach a team to be better over a season. I’m not convinced Gerrard or Viera have shown that they have that recently in their previous jobs and Dyche certainly hasn’t. Suspect Ralph and Southgate have lost the energy for it too. Lampard still had something to prove as a manager really and has shown throughout his career he’s happy to improve young players which suits a Championship job. Great if you can find a big name with those traits and ability but they are rare and we need to find someone the players can be galvanised by in their daily work rather than just their name because it sounds good to begin with. And someone who knows the rules.

These would be terrible options when it comes to the actual football games though but hey a name for a bit would be fun. Continue to be one of the better squads in the division if you galvanise it properly. Some will leave but you’ll have the opportunity to shape a squad yourself with some key signings and any manager worth his salt would back success even with a minus 4 start. If the rest of the messaging from the club can get the reset right then ambitious managers will be tempted. There's certainly no need for people to be defaulting to their previous unimaginative suggestions again.

You also need to stop blaming the lawyers. I don’t really understand your argument about different competitions either. One is a league format so a sporting sanction of points seems reasonable and one is a knock out competition where points are irrelevant so not sure why you’d expect the same punishment necessarily. A few days ago I said on here I thought it would be extreme to expel us but the more you read into it the more it feels logical.

You honestly need to stop pretending/playing dumb that we haven’t deliberately been trying to gain a sporting advantage and that a sporting punishment isn’t suitable. They were separate charges and presumably punished separately by the points deduction.
