  1. Couldn’t tell you the standard of their opposition. From a quick google it looks like they may be German 4th division (happy to be corrected on that). Regardless, 22-0 is very impressive - a team to watch out for next season I suspect.
  2. For anyone in any doubt that Marco Silva would have brought entertainment to St Mary’s, Everton are currently winning a preseason game in Austria 20-0 Finished 22-0
  3. Guestimate based on c.£10m per player, which in today’s market isn’t unreasonable.
  4. With about £30m+ to come in the form of boufal, clasie and Forster.
  5. Pains me to say it, but we missed him (or a player like him) at the World Cup. He’d still do a pretty decent job for us (saints), shame I/most of our fan base could never welcome him back. Rat.
  6. Reckon Leicester will swap for Maguire. If we show them D!ckhunters posts about JS being better they might just do it...
  7. The Striker issue is a difficult one. Austin and Gabbi are both good enough and wouldn’t want to be 3rd choice but Austin, who’s be my first choice, has obvious injury concerns (and needs to be managed) and gabbi is a bit hit or miss. I wouldn’t be disappointed if we started the season with just them 2, but then we’d be in no better position than the start of last year. A long story short, I wouldn’t get another striker in unless it’s a significant improvement on them 2. Sell Long, keep Gallagher as 3rd choice and pray the first 2 don’t get a long term injury. I’m pretty happy with the look of the current squad. With Boufal, clasie and Forster looking likely to go, we should still have a bit more to spend as well as reducing our wage bill.

  9. Redmond has looked okay pre-season (all be it against weak opposition). If he can pull his finger out and improve on the last 2 seasons then maybe we don’t need another wide man (personally I hope we get one)? Easy to forget we have Sims, who even though he is young (and will improve) looks good enough cover - IMO. Depends how Hughes sees Reed. We could possibly keep him as cover for RWB. All in all, I don’t think we’re far off. Maybe 1 more in after Vestergaard.

  11. Haha, was told new player to be announced at lunch time today. I assumed it was Vestergaard, looks like it was Gunn! Assume they pushed back for some reason.
  12. Signed, sealed and delivered... Keep your eye out for some more news about this on your lunch break tomorrow....
  13. On paper looks pretty decent. Still think we’re lacking a quick unpredictable wide man.
  14. Would be a handy squad player for us, but offers little other than what we have. His knees are worse than Austin’s, I’d avoid like the plague if it was down to me
  15. Unusual yes, but is it any different to having 2 right footed players which isn’t as unusual....
  16. It’s not as good as I want them to be, it’s as good as they need to be. Compared to the level required to be a premier league player, they are ****. Imo of course. Long runs around a bit, is quick and fairly strong, so he’d do a job for most bottom half Pl teams who want/need that sort of player, but not many would be sniffing around Stephens.
  17. I never said it was or I would. I wish I could steal a living like them both. All I said is that they’re both not good enough for the PL or the money they earn. That’s the club (les reeds) fault. I’ve watched 25 mins of this game and see no reason to change that opinion either. Both need to be sold
  18. Yep, those that are PL standard players. Long is a nice guy, but a PL player on c.£50k a week he is not. Same with Stephens.
  19. Would suit him.. his only real ability is to be able to run fast
  20. Possibly Hojbjerg in at RWB
  21. Back 3 of Stephens, Hoedt and Bertrand my guess 352
  22. Someone will buy him, probably in the championship. That’s what agents are for. The only thing that will put most off is the stupid amount we’ve been paying him.
  23. I don’t get what you suggest we do then? Keep him, although he’s not good enough?
  24. He wouldn’t be one of my starting 3 personally, but yeah he would add some pace.
  25. It’s got nothing to do with loyalty. Stephens is sh*t. Championship player, at best. It’s a cruel game football, especially at the top.
