Davis/Jaidi would be a terrible choice, even as caretakers. Personally, I’d sack Hughes today (lets be honest, things aren’t going to improve) and bring in someone with a affiliation to club to be caretaker for 1-3 months, until we appoint a new Les and decide on direction. Someone like Strachan for me (who’s know living back in the area). I’d be against him long term and I don’t think he’d take it long term either, but he’d be a steady pair of hands until the new man comes in. Reality is, we’ve probably only got 2 winnable (must wins as well) until Christmas anyway. On a side note, why is it taking so long to replace Les ffs?

Why would anyone want Wegner? Yes he was great in the early days, but his downfall was the fact he was far to stubborn and had an awful transfer record, especially with the defence. You only have to look at the Sanchez/Ozil/Ramsey (letting contracts run so low) farce and Arsenal’s bloated squad of average players to see that he’d be a terrible DOF. Yes, he’s a respected figure in the game and would probably be able to attract a big name manager, but unless he’s realised where he went wrong I wouldn’t want him anywhere near our club.

He’s very recently just moved back to the area as it happens.... I’ll be very surprised if he’s our next manager though, been told he’s ‘settling down now’. That being said I heard a worrying name (Bruce) pop up at the weekend, but I’m hoping that will change now reeds gone, as it was one of his mates... That’s come from someone in football, not saints related, who said Bruce to saints was the inner word going round.

IMO it needs more than 1 person to replace Les. For me, it’s an awful idea giving 1 man so much responsibility, like Les had. Personally I’d like to see a complete restructure. I’d like a CEO for football operations (what happens on the pitch at all levels) with a DOF and Head of Scouting reporting into him and a CEO for commercial operations (what happens off the pitch) finance/commercial director etc reporting into him. Both CEO’s reporting into Gao. The cross we current have with people like Ralph (who hasn’t done too bad commercially) getting involved in footballing decisions is just a complete mess, imo.

We don’t have a fitness coach, we haven’t since Koeman left with Jan Kluitenberg. It’s all sports science ****** ran by someone who has no idea of professional football, but has a degree. It’s a joke really. We’ve been way too unfit for 2/3 seasons now, since the fitness coach left funny enough. Looking at some of the players they just look overweight (might be them tight fitting shirts).. The Les Reed Legacy ladies and Gents.

Mitchell is DOF at RB Lepzig and been linked with the DOF job at United. No way he’ll come to us. The only way I could see that we could tempt him would be to give him Les’ title (Vice chairman) and give him a huge payrise. Unlikely, however.

Disagree. How often were clubs like Saints, Stoke, West Ham etc signing players from Juventus, Barcelona, Inter and Lazio, last time we were in the PL. A player of Shaqiri’s ability would have no way joint a team like Stoke if it hadn’t been for PL money. Likewise Lemina with us. That being said, it has also increased the wage of bang average players like Redmond and long getting over 60k a week.

You’re in dreamland if you think for a second that: 1) BFS would take the job just until the end of the season. Appointing him (probably be a 3 year contract, then sacking him would be another ‘short term fix’ costing multi-millions. 2) Jaidi is or will be good enough to manage us in the PL. Nice idea, but not sure he’s up top it. If anything it’ll more than likely be Kelv if we go that route (which would be a disaster). 3) we’ll be able to replace a squad and scouting staff and then instantly settle in, within 6 - 12 months. This is exactly what we need to do, but it’ll take 2 or 3 years to scout, buy and bed in 90% of a squad.

What’s the bigger problem? Attitude for me. We’ve some talented players (Bertrand, Lemina, Cedric, Gabbi) spring to mind who just clearly don’t want to be at the club and that’s showing on the pitch with their minimal effort and couldn’t give a sh!t attitude. We’re cryibg out for a ‘Roy Keane’ type character, who’ll take no **** and make sure everyone gives 100% every day, in the dressing room. We not had a true leader since Fonte went AWOL
