  1. £20m of our budget has already gone on ings, so not too hopeful for anything significant. Still won’t be able to shift Forster and will end up with Carrillo and Hodet back at the club eating the wage bill. We’ll narrowly miss out on the net spend trophy as Bournemouth will.
  2. Imagine a relegation rivial actually thinking that we’d send him there on loan, with no money for a replacement
  3. It’s a big concern that their 2 best players will be directly up against our 2 worst (Valery and Targett). First goal will be key. If we’re chasing the game they will pick us off. 1-1 or 0-2 I think.
  4. Typical saints under this management (I.e Kat, Gao, Ralph K, Les and Ross). Year after year we are let down. Time come out of this window weaker than when we started, whilst in a relegation battle, is a joke. Fair enough to get rid of those who aren’t part of the plans, but they needed to be replaced with a player or 2 with quality. Beyond the starting 11 (even that’s debatable in some positions, I.e RB) we are disgustingly weak.

    Next 5 Games

Will define our season, minimum of 8 points needed imo. For me, I can see wins against Cardiff and Fulham and draws against palace and Burnley. I can’t call arsenal. Win anymore than 3 of them and I think we can push for upper mid table.

    Cedric/Maehle

Clyne is an outstanding right back however, probably the best or at least one of in the league, just has off field issues. Cedric is much better than most give him credit for. As a defender, 1 on 1 he’s very good, his height is an issue, but playing with thick as **** CB’s didn’t help and neither did playing under 3 awful managers for a full back that likes to bomb on (like Bertrand). The past 2 or 3 seasons have been him looking to get out the club, more interested in looking good in social media. Cedric is much better than Valery at the moment. I think he’ll do well at inter if I’m honest.
  7. Is it thin? Looks like 2 for every position to me. Granted some clearly aren’t good enough and ability wise, it is thin, but the squad size is still too big imo. I suspect Ralph, next season, will want a solid reliable 15 then the rest made up of U23’s
  8. Valery has far from proved he is good enough. Criminally exposed at Cardiff against an average winger and a ridiculous sending off at Leicester. He also looked very very average against West Ham. I’d say he’s had a 5/10 start. A couple of good games a couple of very bad games. No way consistent enough to be our first choice RB. With Hodet and Cedric now both gone, that is the bad egos removed. Cedric was never trouble, from what I’m told, but just thought he was better than us and wanted out for some time.
  9. It has everything to do with SFC considering Cardiff are a relegation rival. Obviously comes second, but you’d have to say that this will all but confirm Cardiff’s relegation. I can’t see them getting another striker in the short amount of time left in the window (and I see the PL have said they won’t extend).
  10. To be honest i very much doubt any of them will be good enough. I’d be inclined to give Sims, Barnes and Hesketh a run of games at the end of the season, when we’re safe, to asses. Possibly keep Jones for another year and send on loan to the championship if we can find a club. Cash in on Reed and Gallagher, we might get around £10m for the both.
  11. Historically I’m Not a massive fan of spurs, but it’s hard not to like them at the moment with Poch and a young squad full of England players.

    James Ward-Prowse

For me he starts ahead of Armstrong in the more advanced role. Difficult as not convinced that his best position, but imo he’s not as good / consistent as Romeu, PEH or Lemina
  13. It will be us next season. As long as we don’t get ‘unlucky’ with injuries and assuming we are going strengthen in the key areas (CB, CF, AM) I’m confident we will be up around the 7th / 8th mark.
  14. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not slating Tadic. He is and was a great player for us. We miss his creativity this season and I think Ajax got themselves a very good player for relatively low fee. I just don’t get why people label Boufal as lazy and not Tadic. Other than the fall out with Hughes, who seems to do it with everyone, Boufal was not an issue and a well liked member of the squad, I’m lead to believe. Boufal suffered with managers who were too afraid to lose where as Ralph has more of a desire to win, imo. I’m sure we’ll find out in the summer anyway.
  15. You’re spot on and by all accounts was a well liked member of the squad. I really don’t get where this lazy tag comes from, I can only assume it’s from people who don’t regularly watch us play, live (some times tv doesn’t give full picture. I.e him on the edge of his own box tracking him man). I also don’t get this selfish tag? If he wasn’t playing for the team, why was he doing all that I just mentioned. His decision making has been questionable at times and you’d have to say on balance he’s been disappointing, but when played in the right position/role, he could be a real asset. As demonstrated at Vigo and previously In France. FWIW Tadic was far more of a selfish, lazy player and Boufal has much more natural talent than him as well.
  16. I know he’s marmite, but I’d love to know if boufal has a recall clause in his contract. Personally I’ve always thought he is better when played through the middle, rather than being stuck isolated on the wing. I think he’d suit Ralph’s style with Redmond the other side of him. He’s reasonably quick, despite the agenda against him he works hard and has that bit of flair we are lacking at the moment. It won’t happen this season but if he’s willing to learn, then I think he could be a big influence next season.

    James Ward-Prowse

Mosin has to be a relative of or is ****ging JWP. He’s paid a fiver to sit and watch the forum all day waiting for someone to bring JwP up so he can defend him. Odd man. Lemina is a much better player than JWP. There’s not a great deal in it between Lemina at his worst and JWP at his best, imo. And FWIW I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Lemina yet. JWP has played okay in the last few weeks. He deserves a start, but for me that should be ahead of Armstrong. Imo hes still our 4th best CM.
  18. That was the bloke in Israel... assume he follows both saints and forest then?
  19. For some reason There was a bloke in a forest shirt in the saints end, at the Hapoel Be’er Sheva away game... wonder if it’s the same bloke.
  20. Personally only player I’d rest from the weekend is Redmond with Gunn obviously coming in for McCarthy. Stick to 434 as seems to suit us best, currently. Gunn Bednerak Stephens Vest Cedric JWP Romeu Targett Mo Armstrong Long McCarthy, Ramsey, slattery, sims??, Gallagher, couple of youngsters

    Absence of Cedric

It has nothing to do with their ability, it’s their attitude (which is effecting their ability). That’s why Ralph wants them out.

    Cortese

I’d say a spoon would have been more effective than some of the manager/player recruitment over the past few years

    Cortese

Other than Les reed and Ross Wilson over the past 2 years.
  24. Not with our mob mate. Our lot are a bit special, no doubt they would love a 6 hour journey on the coach. It gives them more time to stick some face paint on for the game and they should make it home in time for casualty.
  25. Vardy is past it? He’s literally their only threat. When he doesn’t play they are worse than they were today He’d walk into our and pretty much any team outside the top 6 every day of the week
