Wrong. If he has a clause of £36m that is the maximum any club will pay for him (no matter how many are interested). As soon as a club activates that clause, by offering £36m, he is free to discuss terms with said club(s). You are right in that £36m isn’t what we will have to pay as they could accept £20m for arguements sake. Essentially if we bid £36m, it’ll take it out of their hands and it’ll be down to the player.

A week in China at the start of July, playing a Chinese side and then Shalke. Will be a shame if we don’t have our standard European pre season tour, but a week in China does sound appealing as an alternative. My guess is a couple of lower league English teams away and then 1/2 larger European teams at home.

The way we’ve played reminds me of how Koeman used to set us up, all be it without the pace of Mane and hold up play of Pelle. Given the right tools (I.e a new CB, some pace out wide and a new no9) I think we’ll do pretty well under Hughes.

I reckon Poch could well be off in the summer. It’ll be very interesting to see what happens to them, if he takes a few players with him. We could well be battling with them again next season

From what I understand the squad love Hughes here. That could be down to the fact he’s much better than the last 2. As for Stoke, things have only started to sour of the past year, the 2/3 before that he done a very good job. Pretty much down to their recruitment.

Sell Reed. Keep Targett (assuming Bertrand is off) Gallagher a difficult one. Not quite good enough for us, yet but something there. I’d keep as he is better than Long and Carrillo, imo but he’s be better off getting game time every week.

This. My only criticism of him is that he is pretty slow on the ball and often holds it for a second or 2 too long.
