I suspect they will try and hold off as long as possible, until as many positions are sorted. Personally, I think they’re delaying the inevitable. Cancel the season, start afresh next year. No promotion, no relegation etc. Life is more important.

Having listened to the PM. I will be amazed if we finish the season. All games will be postponed / cancelled come the end of the month. And rightly so, IMO.

Its no different to airlines cancelling flights to certain destinations. If it’s a government / PL decision then there is **** all individual clubs can do. As a ST holder I’ll be losing out on a service which I’ve paid for, but the reality is, it’s the bottom of my priority and if playing behind closed doors keeps 1,000’s safe, then I’m all for it and couldn’t care less if I don’t get refunded on 4 games I’ve already prepaid for.. especially given the last 3 seasons I’ve hardly received value for money anyway.

We’re just not very good. Teams know how to play against us at home, sit back and counter and our defence simply isn’t strong or clever enough to learn from mistakes that they’ve been making for 3 seasons.

How sustainable will we be if/when we get relegated, with players we can’t shift in stupid wages. Our sustainable model relies on us staying in the PL, which is the most unsustainable model I’ve ever seen.

Saw the interview... Ralph come out to apologise for his comments following the game Saturday (about not yet being safe) and confirmed our safety, after reading the saints web forum.

Apparently a post saying that the club might (probably will) use this as an excuse to not sign anyone was also deemed deletable. Even a very reasonable post suggesting that cancelling the league, would be good for us as it’ll help us survive relegation got binned.

It would be very good for us. anything that will prevent relegation will help.

My bet is we’ll use that as an excuse to not sign anyone in the summer. ‘The risk was too high combined with the fact we feel like we have a squad good enough to compete with the very best’. Most of our lot will lap it up, claiming there is no value in the summer market and that we can put it towards a massive January war chest.
