  1. We’ve got 3 keepers who are all of a pretty average standard. None are good enough for first choice and at best best all Would be back up for most PL teams. Pretty much the same as every position on the pitch, which is why we are struggling season after season.
  2. I thought Burnley were terrible today, but we really didn’t cause many problems at all. Despite the weather we should have easily won today. No desire for anyone other than ings to get on the end of a cross or to get a goal. All Very predictable nothing to come on and change the game. A worrying performance.
  3. 7 points off the bottom 3. We’re still right in amongst it. Still the same sh!t players from the start of the season, nothing to change a game. Arrogance and Lack of investment in January will cost us and we deserve it.
  4. We’ve got **** all to change a game and the fact we didn’t try and improve our squad In January is disgusting. We deserve relegation.
  5. We just need to accept that as things stand, Ralph is far to good for us and unless something changes (I.e ownership), we’ll get one more year out of him if we’re lucky. There are probably 18 premier league clubs who would be more attractive than us and that’s not taking into account clubs in Europe. The club may be ‘relaxed’ but this is Southampton football club. It’s what we do.
  6. It’s like this is club fed propaganda. But.... the club don’t post lies to preferred jurnos
  7. Only the VAR official could tell you that.
  8. Because whoever was in control of VAR didn’t deem it to be sufficient enough to review further. The official in charge of VAR reviews pretty much every tackle, if they feel like it was potentially a ‘clear and obvious error’ by the match official, then further investigation takes place.
  9. Technically, he’s correct... although, they didn’t look at the decision in more detail, which if that had, would have given a penalty. Serious questions should be asked about the officiating today. Shocking.
  10. You what? All he said was that their attack is too good for our defence? Pretty much the whole league has at one point this season.
  11. Tbf, it’s a back 4 which is weaker than the one ripped apart by the pace of Traoré. It was never going to cope today.
  12. I think it’s pretty clear that Carrillo was / is not worth anything close to what we paid for him. Likewise probably vestergaard. I think that says more about our scouting over the past few years. Of course money doesn’t guarantee success and there are some bargains to be had. The reality is, we probably need a combination of 3 / 4 young’uns with potential in the £15-£20m bracket (I.e Dejenepo) and 3 / 4 proven players with real quality in the £25-£35m bracket to come straight into the squad.
  13. In the current market, £50m buys you 2 bulk standard premier league players. We need more like £100m + money from player sales if we want to stop fighting relegation year after year. It’s not going to happen. We’ll be bargain bin shopping again.
  14. Fair play to Sheff Utd. Not resting on their success this season, in with a sniff of Europe and have spent some dosh trying to achieve it. Might not work, but kudus for trying. Interesting to hear that Newcastle had a £40m bid accepted for a lad from Lille, but the player decided that he wanted to stay for now. Put into perspective how bad our owner is really. No way in hell would we bid £40m for a player and think of the Abuse Ashley gets.
  15. It’s got nothing to do with wanting to gloat. Fingers crossed KWP is a world beater. However, I suspect he’s not and making our team weaker for a quick buck, will cost us in the long run.
  16. Saints lose money if it costs us a league position or 2 (or potentially more).
  17. A generous 2 / 10. We’ve got a little bit of cover for LB but overall we’ve made our squad weaker. Not sold on valery, especially in a back 4 and KWP couldn’t get a game ahead of aurier and various others at Tottenham... which is a worry.
  18. If they threw in a replacement I.e winks, and a decent sum of cash then I’d snap their hand off. Winks and Rose + a bit of £ would be a great deal for us.
  19. Like the fact he can cover both sides. Don’t like the fact he’s going to be first choice.

Can we retrospectively get or at least ask for more? Don’t think we will mind, especially with it being on TV.
  21. take away his goal against Watford (which should have been ruled out for handball..) then I doubt Ralph would still be here .
  22. It’s been much more than a run of losses. We’ve been on the decline for 3 or 4 seasons. A freak run is probably unfair, but Our form throughout December and January was out of the norm. We’ve been fantastic, players who are below average have played out of their skin (Stephens). Players who usually get injured 4 times a season have come through unscathed (ings). And As well as we’ve played, we’ve had a slice of luck... and long may it continue. We currently have a squad of 10 or 11 players who are massively overachieving and a very very good manager. That’s not sustainable however you dress it up. Reality is, if we want to remain a top table team, we need to improve on 3 or 4 positions and that’s not taking into consideration anyone we may lose.
  23. I’ll solve that puzzle for you... 1) if it hadn’t been for a freak run over the past month, we’d be 10-16 points worse off and bottom of the table. Or are you suggesting that the first half of this season has been acceptable? 2) The squad is weak. A strong squad doesn’t lose 9-0 3) Agree about not overspending in Jan. but don’t make your squad weaker.
  24. My guess is that we’ll bring in 3, maybe 4. We’ll certainly get a RB. I suspect we’ll get a CB and I think we’ll sell Bertrand and get a LB. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we sold PEH so will need to replace him. Isn’t long out of contract in the summer as well?
  25. This is a weaker squad than the one who lost 9-0 only 2 months ago and have been nothing short of disgraceful for 3/4 of the season. It’s fortunate that we have a very very good manager and a striker who’s hit a bit of form (which will drop off). There is nothing sustainable about making a weak squad weaker, every window.
