Relegated Teams - Players who would you buy from their Squads?
SKD replied to le_tiss's topic in The Saints
Would like us to take a look at Lerma. Would be a solid replacement for PEH, although him and JWP in Cm would be pretty 1 dimensional. obviously we won’t have the ambition to go for Wilson, but would be a great addition. Ake, I’m told already has a move lined up. looking at those who are potentially realistic. Buendia, cantwell, Brooks and Arrons would all be good additions is a position we’re relatively weak. the reality is, we won’t get any of them as they’ll be too expensive. -
Reality...... were still not very good.
-
To be fair, what does it say about KWP if he can’t get a run ahead of valery, who has never impressed in a 4 (because he can’t defend)
-
Valery is so far out of his depth against Aubameyang, I Just can’t see us winning the game. on a side note, how much longer is this taking the knee going to continue for....?
-
I’m not sure he has the mental capacity to learn, like valery and a couple of the other youngsters. Although 4 months out of the nightclubs in town would probably have done him a favour.
-
I’ll be amazed if ings plays on Thursday and Sunday. I wonder if he’ll be rested Thursday and play the on paper more winnable game against Watford.. although arguably Arsenal is more winnable atm.

Start winning trophies and your fan base size will naturally grow anyway. Look at city. but Newcastle are a much bigger club than us currently and would be a far more attractive proposition I would say. The only real thing in our favour is location. -
The club responding does not make it a nonsense story.
-
He’s a good player as stands out at his current level. However, he’s not yet ready to be thrown in as a first choice replacement To play week in week out for a premier league club. Especially one who is likely to be down the bottom again next season.
-
Amazing that anyone actually thinks Phillips would leave and come to us.
-
We’re still not safe yet. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves thinking of who we’re buying in the summer.
-
He was going to United. Then the deal fell through due to his agent at the time.
-
He’s not going to be a regular for any team challenging for the PL or CL. However, Everton is a set up from us in financial and footballing terms. Everton is probably his level.
-
Credit where it is due however, the NHS has coped pretty well.

They call for lockdown supported and paid for by the public purse now and will call for the end of austerity in 4 years time. Out of interest, is the a table anywhere which shows deaths against landmass and population? I.e a nation of our population with landmass of our size is a recipe for disaster when it comes to spreading. I think the tories probably could and should have handled this better, the whole herd immunity thing was a disaster from the start and the go government were let down by the medical professionals, imo. Would labour have done anything different? They’d have been provided with the same Information, so probably not.

I can’t give away too much as I don’t want Old davey fizzy to combust with excitement, but I have heard about hunts farms replacement. But I will tell you, in true Southampton fashion it’s cheap with loads of potential #unpolisheddiamond -

I don’t think it does. Pretty sure rules are that you’re not allowed to own 2 clubs within the same nation (happy to be corrected though)... otherwise RB would have all sorts of issues, especially given Salzburg and Lepzig compete in the same competition.. -

Would certainly tie in with Glasgow’s recent DM’s... Iirc, Glasgow has pretty good connections with the club... didn’t he meet one of the execs on a golfing trip in Kenya? -

In summary it said 3 parties interested, 2 Americans 1 from Middle East. 2 of them are ‘very very wealthy’. -
