Technically they don't have to be confirmed until the registration deadline on transfer deadline day but it will be announced earlier than that. Last year they were announced 3rd August. You can sometimes see which positions we still intend to fill based on the numbers left free between 1 and 11.

I think if you live close enough to come and support them every week then I don't see the problem (Obviously those that have since moved further away have made their bed). I personally don't understand those that choose teams they're too far away to support if they have options closer by but then my joy of football comes from attending the game and enjoying the occasion with other fans. I'm sure some have good reasons and certainly those choosing clubs like Saints could never be labelled "glory hunters" but there's little doubt the majority are choosing to favour success over the ability to go to a game. Not a mindset I understand. I'd feel too detached from it all.

The header against Argentina is excellent. Seems to have a decent turn of pace for a striker his size too.

Oh God you're right! Our recent track record of signing goalkeepers has been woeful. I look at the goalkeepers other clubs have and wonder wtf we've been playing at.

That's the bottom line of it. He really does have a long way to go before he should be starting for us.

It's interesting isn't it? I'm not sure how Bazunu has earned his cult following. Those that call out Mara for being ineffective aren't labelled "Mara haters". He seems to get a pass but he was brought in for £12m to be our number one and therefore that's inevitably how he will be judged. He'll be compared to what our rivals have. Players like David Raya, Bernd Leno, Alphonse Areola and Jose Sa were all signed for less money. It was a significant sum to spend on a goalkeeper for a club of our size. The most we've ever spent on a goalkeeper. Forster cost us £10m for instance. Throwing a 20 year old with just a single season of league 1 experience between the sticks was a mistake of the management. I don't blame Bazunu for it. I certainly don't hate him for it. Nevertheless, at that price, he needed to come in and perform at a certain level. Unfortunately, he was clearly out of his depth. Any benefits gained from his passing ability are off-set by the simple fact that his fundamentals as a goalkeeper simply aren't up to the required level.

They both carry themselves so lackadaisically it drives me mad. Strolling about and contributing nothing.

Good team display with some promising individual performances (notably Dibling). Passing looking sharper. Mostly just reinforced what we all already know. Sulemana is useless. Mara is useless. Goalkeeping options aren't good enough.

Overall we played well. Definitely need to bring some better finishers into this side though. Dibling is looking far too good to be sent out on loan.
