I had a City fan sat with his Arsenal fan mate near me. The Arsenal fan going on about how Maitland-Niles and Walcott are two of our best players and the City fan joking about whether he would celebrate "when we score" which he did. All within earshot of the stewards.

On the flip side, we gave our best players significantly less time to make an impact on the game. If you look at the games we've actually won this season, in many of them, we have done our scoring in the first half and defended well in the second. It was unquestionably the wrong approach to start a front line of those four when they have scored 3 goals between them all season. I could perhaps see the logic of putting Sulemana up against tired legs, but Alcaraz has more goals than any of them in less than half the game time and the best conversion rate in the squad. The idea we could afford to drop him to the bench in such an important game is ludicrous especially as we were lacking our top goalscorer in open play, Che Adams. This wasn't an away game to a top half side. It was against a fellow team in the bottom three and Selles was far too cautious.

I think a forward line including Mara, Walcott, Moi and Stu is possibly the weakest we've ever started in this league. Alacaraz has already scored more league goals than any of them and Sulemana actually offered us some pace and directness so overall, yeah I would say so.

WTF was that starting line up. Lost the game before a ball was kicked.

We're utter shit. We've been utter shit all season. Anyone that thought we were in with a shout of survival had to believe we were going to show form we haven't shown in over 5 years. It's not happening.

I'd have taken the draw before kick-off so far from a disaster but it still feels like an opportunity missed. Our lack of creativity gets exposed against 10 men as strange as that sounds. MOTM Gavin Bazunu - That was his first great game for us in my view. He made a couple of real quality saves and looked composed throughout. We leave with a point today thanks to him so big well done. Our forwards let his performance down.
