Which is the reason we're STILL not being touted for relegation by many outsiders!

I'm not convinced by him at all to be honest. I was hoping for someone a bit more proven given our predicament. The fee seems ridiculous to me as well but I guess it was inevitable after making the Van Dijk money so public.
-
Everything about the club at the moment is making me angry. Maybe I need to go into hibernation until May.

He won't be popular because we're ****, the manager is **** and he's dithering in the transfer market. We are massively under-performing this season. Nobody's entitled to a league place, but everyone is entitled to feel disgruntled at the boards incompetence.

A Shane Long that knows how to score. Yes please, I think he's quality.

This stadium revamp / improved customer experience.

I guess it might improve the harmony in the squad.

You took the photo with your phone rotated 90 degrees clock-wise instead of anti-clockwise I would guess.

Yes, unfortunately. I hate to say it having paid for a season ticket to enjoy the season but we've been so **** that our only focus now should be survival.

The commentators will have nothing to say anymore when we're on TV... -
Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk

They won't win the league any time soon anyway... City and United (Even Spurs and Chelsea are stronger) are way ahead of them and it will take more than Van Dijk to change that. There's no guarantee he'll match the form he had prior to his injury anyway. -
Anybody know anything about Jack Hendry? https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/saints-could-enter-hendry-race-1872760.html

The ultimate blame definitely lies in the boards poor movement in the transfer window and their questionable appointments regarding staff and management. They need to learn that you can't go cheap in the league of BIG money.

Giving both managers the same time, we've conceded 9 more goals but scored 4 more. So Puel certainly had us more organised but also more toothless. Puel has the edge especially considering we had more fixtures (although I can't forgive him for fielding weakened teams in the Europa league). Having said that, we've been better than the tail end of last season where we failed to score in six of our last 7 matches. We seemed to get worse over the course of the season. Personally, I find the argument over who was better pointless seeming as both failed to get the best out of the team.
-
If that was true he would have been sold last summer. Pellegrino said we still needed him back in August.
-
High pressing and quick offensive play are not things we ever did under Puel. Pellegrino has been no better.

Exactly this. It's also worth pointing out that Puel didn't get us playing anywhere near like that last season. People that feel they need to take every opportunity to say "I told you so" are the real morons and need to get behind our team. As I said in the other thread a few days ago: You've got to be pretty thick to think what a manager can do at one club they can simply do at another.

I always got the impression the players never truly got on board with his philosophies and it showed. No goals in six of our last 7 matches and only 17 goals at home all season in 19 games isn't a sign of a working system. There is no doubt in my mind that last season saw us playing the most boring football I have ever had the misfortune of paying for in my life. It's also worth pointing out that the system he's playing with Leicester isn't the same system he played with us. Perhaps he learnt his lesson. I think it's fair to argue Leicester and Claude Puel are just a better match. Much like Southampton and Ronald Koeman was.
-
Exactly, it's about clear cut chances created. We need a player that can make those killer passes we currently don't make.
-
There's definitely space for a playmaker in this team. We don't have one, Tadic and Davis come closest but they're not.
-
Agree bolstering our midfield would have helped today and with Lemina on the bench it made sense. Still, I'm seeing improvements and as long as I see the team working hard and scoring goals I'm willing to give him more time.

Wasn't a penalty as the ball was already out of play. Worst that could have happened was a Yoshida yellow card.
