Armstrong has only just picked up form again after a long run of mediocre to poor games. He was brilliant before covid. I would be reluctant to “unseat“ him from his natural position. Also he is the slowest of all of the 10s so not sure it’s a great idea asking him to play there perhaps

We weren’t just drawing blanks in attack again today. We were bad in defence too. Stephens for all his flashy pings forward, was a liability in the 6 yard box again. I watched him closely and on 2 or 3 occasions like Fulham, the opposition had too much freedom in the box. Against better opposition, we would’ve been punished today. Need Salisu to be available ASAP or get Vesty back and fit

Totally agree. This obsession with right footed defenders being restricted to right centre back and left footed ones to left centre back is overworking the delicate brain for some I think.

Looking at the overall picture. Free Half his salary being paid by competitor Outperforming the other number 10s I think he’s been a better than brilliant acquisition. Some would say inspired!

Underated post

Can’t help but think all of this had something to do with Bednarek’s contract situation. No sniff of involvement for Salisu and as soon as Jan signs up, he’s in the squad next game. The threat of losing a £15m asset for nothing would arguably justify this whole chapter. Probably not, but the timing is amusing to say the least.
