  1. The "sort of 1976" look ones with the "S" manufacturer, flybe sponsor, blue collar and single blue stripe down each sleeve ? If you've got one in XL or L I could be interested in taking one off your hands ? I assume you got them from one of the concourse sales, I know a few people picked some up from there even though they didn't properly go on sale ? I am PMable Found a pic : This one ?
  2. Kebe's been class every time I've seen him, so that would explain that one.
  3. I've got all of them since 1997ish... ...except the yellow flybe shirt from 2006 that we didn't produce for sale (the limited edition Anniversary replica we sold instead was gash), and the current away kit because I refuse to pay £40 for a plain black long sleeved training shirt. In addition to that I've got 2 or 3 of most of the kits since 2004, a UEFA Cup shirt from player stock, the hummel "Denmark" home, the hummel plain striped and white/jade, and most but not all of the kits in between the hummel ones and the end of Pony's reign.
  4. Well I've just got back from Stoke - who utterly murdered Brighton in a complete cakewalk of "ball in from right wing, flick on, goal x3" in the first half, completely embarrassing them, then went to sleep second half and let them get some confidence back, which began to irritate me. Honestly, Stoke completely shut Brighton out of the game, they had one chipped through ball to the keeper and a swinger weak foot effort comfortably over the bar in the whole first half. Stoke are a very competent unit, didn't really do very much but were incredibly efficient at fulfilling their gameplan, and all credit to John Carew, he looked a class apart on the floor, never mind winning headers. I cannot stress how much we need to get Alex down the right wing hammering crosses in behind their back 4. Calderon at right back was utterly out of his depth against the half decent Etherington and not particularly special Pugh. We left after 75 mins, the novelty of seeing Delap (same), Kenwyne (same), Fuller (better but more injured today) - and Higginbotham on the bench - having worn off a long time before. On the bright side, no traffic, a new ground for me (dunno why I haven't been before) and we knew the words to about half of their songs.
  5. We'd got as far as Coventry when we found out, so we've decided to go to Stoke v Brighton to see some ex-Saints and that mob we're trying to catch to see if they're any good... Anyone else sad enough to post on Saintsweb from a pub in Stoke or similar?

    The Mule

It was utterly impossible to tell if that was "Booo" or "B-uell".
  7. I prefer the term "borrowed" for that instance. Even when I was a kid about half of my class didn't understand that you loaned something to someone and borrowed it from them.

    Trialists

I'm pretty sure both played for the reserves or in friendlies before signing. And I do know what a triallist is, I was one once (and got signed).
  9. You can thank Crab Lungs for that.
  10. We have tamed his randomness. Also as he is fatter he strays less.
  11. I hadn't noticed he'd already been booked and at first had assumed he got a yellow for the shirt pull and a yellow for dissent to the lino and/or ref to make his red.
  12. As I'll be attending a wedding on Sunday 29th May I'm bloody hoping we finish in the top 2 as well.

Lucien Mettomo ? Vincent Pericard ?
  14. LOL, Wurzel knows which side's players he's more likely to bump into in the pub, I see... As for that pussy B Rabbit, yeah, he's so crap he jumped ship to the Saints Forever team in time to play for the Saints IFC side on a regular basis and he's now playing for the Sunday side I manage. He's still better at basketball though, just like Shaun should stick to driving taxis. Speaking of my Sunday side, does anyone any good (preferably defenders and midfielders) fancy a game in the Meon Valley League on Sundays ? We're doing pretty well (albeit in Div 4) so Saturday regulars are preferred, but anyone any good who can commit to the majority of our 9 remaining games will most likely at least make the bench. We're the only Saints team in the whole bloody league, second in the table with 2 going up. It's pretty clean too, considering all the Skates and wannabes (we're due to play in Liphook one away match !?!!). We play out of Whiteley though most of the team are Hedge Enders, our pitch is good (they even spike it and cut it regularly) and best of all, it's an afternoon kick off at 2pm... PM me for details with a brief recap of who you play for and where if you're interested and we'll get you along. This has been a public information announcement on the behalf of FCSantos And if that doesn't get you interested... here's a photo from a match earlier this season...
  15. When practically all top-level clubs are making huge losses and being propped up by multi-millionaires the idea that ticket prices are important becomes mildly ridiculous compared to the money from the overseas tv deals and merchandise anyway. Specifically with the CL, the clubs barely see the direct revenue, so only UEFA are to blame and there's no way it affects wages directly. The participating clubs will get tickets from a "bargain" £80, which at least offers some token acknowledgement of loyalty being "rewarded". Generally, agree with the "Football Will Eat Itself" thing. Bah.
  16. I honestly couldn't care less if one of our players wins one of these poxy awards. You only have to look at the players in the FL's Team of the Week over the last fortnight to see what a joke these kind of awards are and how worthless they are.
  17. By far the best so far.
  18. Don't get me started... and they can't pronounce his name properly either...
  19. I don't want us to miss the chance to get his full name into a song, it's a unique opportunity as most player names don't have that many syllables. So, in the spirit of making myself popular... "Give me an A..." "L" "E" "X" "O" etc.
  20. Anyone singing at reserve matches wants stringing up. And anyone disputing referee's decisions is a relative of one of the players.
  21. We murderised you. And Gio was the biggest whiner. Other than that, meh. We are the Champions. Pwned. Blimey it was that long ago I can't even remember all the goals I would have scored...
  22. I always thought Paterson looked out of his depth for Saints, the only time I've seen him put in a decent performance was up at Farnborough pre-season (2008?) when he showed the kind of finishing he didn't have for Saints - though you could see he was always giving his best. Actually thought Southend in League Two would suit him, but clearly Sturrock didn't agree. Stockport may be his level - hopefully Doble being a mate of his (and a better player IMHO) they'll both get a few goals.
  23. Pekhart was very good for us in his first game, was then quite promising in a couple of others (I felt he was our best striker for about a month when the completely untried McGoldrick was the main alternative long before he got remotely decent, his movement was way ahead of anything anyone else was doing at the time, but then that's why we got relegated). Then for some reason we shunted him out wide to fit the 4-3-3 (though I still say it was more of a 4-2-1-2-1) and Poortvliet started playing Robertson ahead of him, and he got understandably peeved and rotted in the reserves looking pretty crappy for the rest of his loan. I thought he had potential, but I think he had a bit of an attitude.

    Adam or Alex ?

Lallana by a mile. Far more developed than Alex and a lot more to his game at the moment. Also able to play a variety of positions well, and if he lost some pace it wouldn't matter anything like as much.
