Goals win games. Better to have someone who messes up 3 times and then creates a goal than someone who doesn't create anything
-
It has to be said that Saganowski didn't exactly set the world alight when he left us either. I'm still mystified about what happened with him
-
I could see us spending £25m now we have the new owners. Not because they're going to splash the cash generally but because there looks like a good chance we'd get our money back from Broja with interest in a few years. It's about finding value in the transfer market. There may be value in an expensive player if we feel they are likely to see their price increase in the future
-
We changed shape at half time and he may not have been fit enough for a full 45. Maybe Ralph wanted to get 10 minutes in his legs at the end but then there were other priorities. I'm speculating a bit but these are more plausible reasons than that Ralph would leave one of our best players on the bench because he is insane

Are you sure? https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-01-14/team-news-wolverhampton-wanderers-southampton-fc-premier-league-2021-22

I'd assume KWP wasn't fit enough to play a big part after covid, it really does take a while to recover from

It's a bit like when defenders shepherd the ball out of play, they don't actually touch the ball but it's considered under their control. That was not the wolves player's ball, Perraud had it and it was moving in his direction
-
This if we're still trailing after an hour

Broja isn't exactly worth £40m yet but I could imagine a club paying that because his potential is so huge and so obvious, he has a long contract and Chelsea won't want to sell. Look at the prices that promising players have been going for: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8024615/Here-20-expensive-teenagers-history-1m-teen.html

At one point he came sweeping out on the edge of his area and it made me think of the difference to a few years ago when he was just totally static

Adams didn't start to shine until his second season. We've got to give players time
-
I really hope the season gets extended because a clogged up schedule will only hurt us given the energy that goes into our pressing game
-
Reminds me of when someone put a banner over the M3 warning about the climate emergency and all the locals on Facebook were more concerned about it distracting drivers

Brilliant assist for Long's goal

Depends what other stuff was going on at the time I think

Probably the PR team was busy and just never got around to it?

The BBC leans right because it believes the safest way to avoid accusations of bias is to take its cues from the print media

The way I see it, she wanted to get out and there weren't any great options on the table, but saw Gao as at least a benign owner who would run us within our means. She also retained a stake to ensure she could continue to protect us, and inserted a clause to make sure the next owner was suitable
-
I'm not convinced Gao was that bad. He didn't invest and there was that terrible sponsorship deal ,but he got rid of the past lot, appointed a good management team and stayed out the way. And ultimately we stayed up, which is more than can be said of Derby, for example. He's definitely preferable to Lowe and Askham
-
I think she did it in good faith even if it turned out to be bad. And she inserted a clause to make sure he couldn't sell it on to anyone she didn't approve of
-
This is interesting because surely Semmens has to take responsibility for poor decisions under him as CEO?
-
For all that she has made mistakes, Kat has really tried to do the best by us I think. We're quite lucky when you look at some of the terrible owners that other clubs have had
