  1. I have four ideas though I acknowledge that they all have possible flaws: The PR team was just busy around the time of those renewals and never got around to putting anything out. It would have been insulting to just put out a short press release without photoshoots etc Neither player particular craves the limelight so preferred to keep things low key. We've seen McCarthy's public speaking skills! The PR team didn't think extensions for two weaker players in the squad was that newsworthy, even compared to an extension for an youth player with potential Stephens and McCarthy both took paycuts so it was in some way sensitive to be trumpeting their extensions
  2. So sorry to hear that Minsk, thank you for your contributions on here
  3. I'd like someone I've never heard of but who's really good
  4. Or just enjoy him for as long as we have him
  5. If I was Newcastle I would pay £40m
  6. Reminds me a bit of the pelters Jason Puncheon got. Wingers can be erratic and it is frustrating when they give the ball away, but sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth
  7. This thread got quiet
  8. Goals win games. Better to have someone who messes up 3 times and then creates a goal than someone who doesn't create anything
  9. It has to be said that Saganowski didn't exactly set the world alight when he left us either. I'm still mystified about what happened with him
  10. I could see us spending £25m now we have the new owners. Not because they're going to splash the cash generally but because there looks like a good chance we'd get our money back from Broja with interest in a few years. It's about finding value in the transfer market. There may be value in an expensive player if we feel they are likely to see their price increase in the future
  11. We changed shape at half time and he may not have been fit enough for a full 45. Maybe Ralph wanted to get 10 minutes in his legs at the end but then there were other priorities. I'm speculating a bit but these are more plausible reasons than that Ralph would leave one of our best players on the bench because he is insane
  12. Are you sure? https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-01-14/team-news-wolverhampton-wanderers-southampton-fc-premier-league-2021-22
  13. I'd assume KWP wasn't fit enough to play a big part after covid, it really does take a while to recover from
  14. It's a bit like when defenders shepherd the ball out of play, they don't actually touch the ball but it's considered under their control. That was not the wolves player's ball, Perraud had it and it was moving in his direction
  15. This if we're still trailing after an hour
  16. Broja isn't exactly worth £40m yet but I could imagine a club paying that because his potential is so huge and so obvious, he has a long contract and Chelsea won't want to sell. Look at the prices that promising players have been going for: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8024615/Here-20-expensive-teenagers-history-1m-teen.html
  17. At one point he came sweeping out on the edge of his area and it made me think of the difference to a few years ago when he was just totally static
  18. Adams didn't start to shine until his second season. We've got to give players time
  19. I really hope the season gets extended because a clogged up schedule will only hurt us given the energy that goes into our pressing game
  20. Reminds me of when someone put a banner over the M3 warning about the climate emergency and all the locals on Facebook were more concerned about it distracting drivers
  21. Brilliant assist for Long's goal
  22. Depends what other stuff was going on at the time I think
  23. Probably the PR team was busy and just never got around to it?
