  1. Speaking personally, I never said he would definitely turn it around, just that he had to be given more of a chance given the injury problems and his past successes. It was the "out" brigade who were so convinced of their own opinion that they would have got rid of our best manager since Poch
  2. Life is good in the cult right now
  3. West Ham simply have a huge catchment area east of London and up into Essex where there are no other sizeable clubs
  4. Exactly. Surely it's a win for everyone if he stays another season on loan
  5. There's a point where KWP gets forced back and looks under some pressure, yet a few passes later we're right back at them
  6. It's a really tricky one because I think Moi and Redmond have both done enough to get new contracts as squad players, but with Tella and Armstrong taking up the other spots, you would ideally want another fresh young face in the the squad with big potential. Perhaps Tella could be classed as a striker, leaving space for another no.10
  7. I just loved KWP's interaction with Ralph at the end. You could tell the respect he has for his manager - I don't think he'll be rushing to move clubs, Tino or no Tino
  8. The point is what will happen next year?
  9. United's form fell off a cliff when Ferguson announced his retirement (the first time). I wish Ralph hadn't said this
  10. Not knocking his potential at all but I'm not sure I've seen many fullbacks with his sort of physique? The only similar player I can think of is Aboubakar Kamara who played wide forward for Fulham
  11. Adams has always had more about his all round game so it was easier to see his qualities even when he wasn't scoring. Armstrong needs goals. He has shown threat in some games so I'm not writing him off but I am worried about his lack of clinical finishing
  12. It obviously could have been better, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it is pointless - if we get a quality player for a season and make a small profit at the end of it, then that's all good. We don't know if Salisu would have agreed to a 5 year contract, and given his unknown issues at that time, giving him one might not have been wise. Tino signed a 5 year contract so it's not out of the question for us
  13. I have four ideas though I acknowledge that they all have possible flaws: The PR team was just busy around the time of those renewals and never got around to putting anything out. It would have been insulting to just put out a short press release without photoshoots etc Neither player particular craves the limelight so preferred to keep things low key. We've seen McCarthy's public speaking skills! The PR team didn't think extensions for two weaker players in the squad was that newsworthy, even compared to an extension for an youth player with potential Stephens and McCarthy both took paycuts so it was in some way sensitive to be trumpeting their extensions
  14. So sorry to hear that Minsk, thank you for your contributions on here
  15. I'd like someone I've never heard of but who's really good
  16. Or just enjoy him for as long as we have him
  17. If I was Newcastle I would pay £40m
  18. Reminds me a bit of the pelters Jason Puncheon got. Wingers can be erratic and it is frustrating when they give the ball away, but sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth
  19. This thread got quiet
  20. Goals win games. Better to have someone who messes up 3 times and then creates a goal than someone who doesn't create anything
  21. It has to be said that Saganowski didn't exactly set the world alight when he left us either. I'm still mystified about what happened with him
