I think Tella is better than Sims but I see comparisons in the way he is overrated on here
-
With the exception of Liverpool, all of those games are tough but winnable. A win and some draws sounds about right
-
I've been haunted by the this type of game since we drew with bottom-of-the-table Villa under Koeman. It's disappointing but it doesn't necessarily define our season
-
Walcott is well down in the pecking order now then
-
Souness lived in Shawford http://www.plrobinsondesign.co.uk/projects/apple-tree-house.php
-
Semmens said it on the Total Saints podcast
-
Apparently they have turned down offers already because the fans wouldn't like them
-
One theory is that he needs an experienced head alongside him to tell him what to do and where to stand. He has that at France and had it at Juve
-
I see it as a 50/50 coin flip. We can't shy away from something that could be better, but we have to make sure it isn't worse. I just hope Semmens is correct when he says the club are only interested in selling to the right people

I'd have thought he could bide his time and get a better job than Norwich. If Ralph hadn't managed to turn things around this season then I'd have taken him here
-
Basing my opinions entirely on Wikipedia, Pulis did at least get regular games in the lower leagues, whereas Forecast never managed to play anywhere. His best effort was some games in the third tier of US football. Allegedly he did do well in the FA Youth Cup for Spurs
-
Is it because our wage bill is still relatively large?
-
He was obviously a really good player but not that smart or good positionally. I can remember him playing on the right for England and causing chaos by drifting inside and leaving his full back exposed
-
Is Gerrard a better manager than Smith? I'm not convinced
-
Do you think? I think Ralph would have them coasting to the title. Would be a weird move for him though
-
I'm getting big Souness vibes from this one
-
Even Klopp's Liverpool managed to lose 7-2 in a game against villa. It's the nature of the system we and they play that it can bring great results but if anything isn't working properly then it can go catastrophically wrong.
-
This passage made me think that they have indeed been gobbing off to the press. Just as they did with JWP. They certainly seemed to have put the word out that they're not interested in Terry. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/07/aston-villa-sack-dean-smith-head-coach

Yep, played well first half. A few mistakes crept in second half
-
This is right. The formation/personnel made it hard for us to play in the second half. But it also stifled Villa
-
7 points clear of the relegation zone now. Here's to another comfortable season
-
One niiil...to the Southampton! Our squad depth really is an asset. Villa lost a lot of momentum when they brought the young players on
-
Taking the pessimistic view, not having Ings will force Smith to go back to one up top, and back to the formation that worked for them last season. It will also mean Buendia can play in his preferred position
-
I always liked that he was good at heading. Not just a typical winger - a proper all round player
-
Javier Hernandez is still playing. But they're definitely rarer. Is Ronaldo a poacher now? He doesn't move much
