  1. Even a charity can't afford to spend more than it earns
  2. A good manager will know which players either need or are strong enough to take tough feedback in public, and which need to be built up. Tino for example has the world at his feet at the moment (almost) so needs his feet kept on the ground. Do the same to Redmond and you'd break his morale
  3. We desperately need Stu back. The interesting question is whether Tadic would have the work rate for Ralph's system
  4. 10 games always seemed a reasonable time to judge this season and that's still the case
  5. Mate, did you see that blog about our tactics for Man C? We've got plans up the wazoo
  6. The thing is, I don't think the manager necessarily wants the players fired up with emotion. He wants them to execute the gameplan effectively. I see the logic of that although I'm sure some will disagree
  7. A better analogy would be whether you're skilled at serving existing customers or reaching out and securing new ones, which in some industries at least are quite different roles
  8. Koeman did well for us last time by taking over from a high pressing manager and just tweaking things a bit, so he could repeat the trick. I'd keep Ralph for now though
  9. Why do they have the thing of making the ref watch it on a monitor? It delays the game even more and puts extra pressure on the ref
  10. It happens every week when we're on one of our good runs. "Credit to Southampton but City/United/other played really poorly". Yes there was a reason that they played poorly, we made them.
  11. We're back to opposing teams/fans thinking they just played badly against us when actually we stifled them with our system
  12. It's almost as if it was our injury crisis and lack of squad depth that was the problem last season and not Ralph
  13. Why would Gray choose us over Everton? I agree though that there not much left to say about Redmond. He does have some ability but seems unlikely to ever fulfill it
  14. Ronaldo scores but United lose. Not for the last time this season I suspect
  15. Why would he choose us over Everton?
  16. Second in the table with an Angers team winning plaudits: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/sep/13/angers-ligue-1-great-fun-gerald-baticle Playing mostly as a striker according to Transfermarkt and has two goals in five games. That said, he has a lot of the Ben Arfa about him and I wouldn't have him back
  17. I don't think Broja is quite ready to start against Manchester C but it's definitely reasonable for Armstrong to not be an automatic starter this season as he acclimatises to a tougher league
  18. Maybe he has and it wouldn't? Alexander Arnold struggled there for England
  19. I'm actually quite sad about the Echo these days. All they seem to do is rehash stories from other websites
  20. You've got such a problem when the chairman is signing players without any recourse to coaches/scouts
  21. Perhaps, but their careers at international youth level are in no way comparable, if that's any guide
  22. I suppose in today's game a player like Case might stay at Liverpool as a rotation player
  23. He played for the youth team last week and has only played half a game in the cup for the first team. He is making the bench for Champions League ties but not League games, suggesting he's only there because it's a larger bench
  24. He played for the youth team last week and has only played half a game in the cup for the first team. He is making the bench for Champions League ties but not League games, suggesting he's only there because it's a larger bench
  25. Even if we did try for them, Sevilla and Atalanta are more attractive propositions for players than us at the moment unfortunately
