I think it sounds like a good transfer for back up at left back but obviously we still need a high quality centre back
-
Given that we're no doubt paying him a lot more and only getting an extra year added on, I can't imagine we've agreed to a particularly low release clause as well. Otherwise it's not in our interest to give the contract

McCarthy Livra Bedna Salisu Perraud JWP Romeu Armstrong Tella Armstrong Adams KWP on for Livra after an hour

I'm not totally convinced that selecting a young kid out of position on his second start for the club, against man utd, is a great idea, but it could work out

Seven Premier League clubs have had less owner investment than us over the last 10 years apparently. Shows how lucky we were to have Markus really - these figures are from the period after he died although I guess it was perhaps still his money. Plus we've spent more on club infrastructure than 10 other clubs which I guess is where some of our potential transfer money has gone.
-
Not sure Ashley has put any of his own money into the club though. Aside from the (unrealistic?) expectation that an owner's job is to pump money into a club, the disillusionment has a lot to do with them being relegated twice under his ownership, some woeful managerial appointments, and unpopular moves like renaming the stadium. Plus the Geordies' inflated sense of where their club should be challenging in the league, and some spells where the club didn't spend any money, possibly because they were paying off the debts built up under Freddy Shepherd

It's basically a badly worded survey. I don't have confidence in Gao to invest and take us to the next level. I do have confidence in him to oversee a decently well run club which makes the most of its limited resources
-
This is quite an interesting video on Worrall in that it shows his bad bits as well as his good bits: I'd be willing to punt on him although can't say I'm certain he'll step up. Forest fans seem to think he will. Seems like a good lad. Nice car:

To be honest I think it's good for the Spanish League if some other teams can compete. And I'm sure Barca will be back in the future
-
That second goal was a rocket, no way he was to blame there
-
The last thing we want is Howe getting involved in transfers
-
For what it's worth, while Broja's obligatory YouTube vid showed him to have lots of potential, I wasn't convinced he was ready for the step up to Premier League football and his goalscoring record in the Dutch League would back that up. I expect he'll get some minutes as the season progresses

The point is that being a nasty bellend doesn't make you a good manager. Nor does having worked as an assistant manager. Nor does having been a good player. So what exactly is it about John Terry that makes people think he'll be a good manager?
-
How was Roy Keane as a manager?
-
Bryan Kidd Steve Kean Carlos Queiroz Paul Clement The list goes on
-
Pellegrino was a pisspoor choice and it's not inevitable that the same thing would happen again. Agree that we should be willing to pay for in-contract managers though
-
We've just managed to turn around our transfer strategy, the last thing we need is Howe signing those sorts of players
-
I'm looking for someone we've never heard of but who has the potential to be the next Poch. There has to be someone out there that's better than Howe, Lampard and Terry
-
I'm totally perplexed that Armstrong didn't play
-
Just look at the way Tuchel instantly improved Chelsea when he took over from Lampard's shambles. It's a no from me
-
I've said all along that he needs to prove himself in the first 10 or so games of this season. This was not a good start
-
Not sure how McCarthy is to blame for that. Salisu held his hand up afterwards and rightly so

Perhaps Bertie just got stale but I also wonder if Ralph's high-energy press and 4222 formation were too much for a full back of his age. They ask a lot of players in that position. Rodgers' tactics may well suit him better. One thing is for sure - he had ceased to be an attacking threat for us last season -
Shaw obviously went on to fulfill his potential but it has taken him years to get back to where Poch had him
