Cortese isn't at the club any more because Kat turned off the money tap. If she had allowed Cortese to keep spending and we had hired Ralph then Ralph would probably be doing a lot better with a better squad
-
Ralph needs to prove himself over the next few games for me, but there's no way I would want Ranieri
-
Do you think Gao would be bothered if we get relegated and he loses millions? I reckon he cares just as much as us, if not more
-
Why would they come to us over Everton?
-
I'd be very happy for him to get some game time on the clock against the Faroe Islands. Good prep for when he comes back to us

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Ex Lion Tamer replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
So we're still 3 points up in the head to head comparison. Something to be hopeful about -
He's definitely got something. Our spells of good form show that. The next few games will tell us more about whether he can turn around this bad run or if it is time to move on. I could definitely see him getting another team overperforming though if he does leave.

Even a charity can't afford to spend more than it earns

A good manager will know which players either need or are strong enough to take tough feedback in public, and which need to be built up. Tino for example has the world at his feet at the moment (almost) so needs his feet kept on the ground. Do the same to Redmond and you'd break his morale
-
We desperately need Stu back. The interesting question is whether Tadic would have the work rate for Ralph's system
-
10 games always seemed a reasonable time to judge this season and that's still the case
-
Mate, did you see that blog about our tactics for Man C? We've got plans up the wazoo
-
The thing is, I don't think the manager necessarily wants the players fired up with emotion. He wants them to execute the gameplan effectively. I see the logic of that although I'm sure some will disagree
-
A better analogy would be whether you're skilled at serving existing customers or reaching out and securing new ones, which in some industries at least are quite different roles
-
Koeman did well for us last time by taking over from a high pressing manager and just tweaking things a bit, so he could repeat the trick. I'd keep Ralph for now though
-
Why do they have the thing of making the ref watch it on a monitor? It delays the game even more and puts extra pressure on the ref
-
It happens every week when we're on one of our good runs. "Credit to Southampton but City/United/other played really poorly". Yes there was a reason that they played poorly, we made them.
-
We're back to opposing teams/fans thinking they just played badly against us when actually we stifled them with our system
-
It's almost as if it was our injury crisis and lack of squad depth that was the problem last season and not Ralph
-
Why would Gray choose us over Everton? I agree though that there not much left to say about Redmond. He does have some ability but seems unlikely to ever fulfill it
-
Ronaldo scores but United lose. Not for the last time this season I suspect
-
Why would he choose us over Everton?

Second in the table with an Angers team winning plaudits: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/sep/13/angers-ligue-1-great-fun-gerald-baticle Playing mostly as a striker according to Transfermarkt and has two goals in five games. That said, he has a lot of the Ben Arfa about him and I wouldn't have him back
-
I don't think Broja is quite ready to start against Manchester C but it's definitely reasonable for Armstrong to not be an automatic starter this season as he acclimatises to a tougher league
