Both these things can be true right? I can't see us waiting until the end of the window. We need a striker too much. Broja has a contract until 2026 so really he might just have to respect Chelsea's wishes. Or we take him on loan.

He was a regular for England for a decent period of time and although he didn't quite excel at that level he was solid enough

Sekou Mara - Official: Signs for Strasbourg

That's nowhere near as good as Carillo's 11 in 998! 🤯 -
Most of those players had serious injury problems, which Lingard hasn't. Then you've got Cleverly, who was never close to the player Lingard is, Defoe, who was playing well at a much older age than Lingard, and Alli, who might be the most similar but has had a much worse career dip and never did as much for England as Lingard did
-
Come now, he did a decent job for England for quite a period of time even if he wasn't quite at the level we might have wanted. He's definitely a good Premier League player even if he's not quite Champions League level

Isn't this MLG's vision of journalism - direct quotes or there's no story? -
Broja is only 20 though. So much more potential
-
£12m on Transfermarkt, only signed a new contract 6 months ago though
-
Two sources have reported along these lines. It's very far from watertight, but when we're trying to read the runes, we can lower the probability that he will join
-
Not an exact answer to your question but there are a lot of supporting players on this list https://www.football365.com/news/ranking-premier-league-club-percentage-of-goals-scored-by-top-scorer-2021-22-ronaldo-son

Good strikers are more expensive than other positions, and more in demand. That means we have to wait until later in the window for prices to drop or for players to give up on bigger clubs coming in for them. It sucks that it disrupts the start of the season but it's just the way it is for every club our size
-
I know you have connections but it's not the first time I've seen a falling out suggested, so I'm wondering who's feeding it to journalists and why
-
I'd suggest that while there wasn't a visible falling out as far as the club was concerned, Broja didn't like the way Ralph dealt with him and had no intention of coming back
-
Kalajdzic also seems to be high on our list but he's waiting to see if he gets a better offer
-
Armstrong and Che were both running down their contracts and a fair bit older than Delap
-
To be honest my memory is that they thought he was decent but needed game time
-
He's taking a lot of stick from Spurs fans, but there are also some suggestions that he just needs to get his confidence back to play more positively
-
We really had a thing for over the hill strikers didn't we
-
I definitely think AWB is ripe for rehabilitation - tactically United have been a joke and he'll thrive in a better organised team
-
None of us knows but I think he'll go next summer and we're looking at blooding his replacement now
-
What if he simply doesn't want to sign? He'll be looking for a move to a Champions League club
-
Well I'm more interested in whether his all round game is good enough for the Premier League. You can generally find someone to knock in the pens
-
Five of his goals last season were penalties, though 16 goals in 30 games still isn't bad
