  1. Not wanting to use a buzzword but we do need to minimise the scar tissue from this season and try to get some positive momentum going otherwise our recruitment/retention challenge in the summer will be all the harder. A couple of good value loans and promising signings for next season will be well worth it if they can help get a few performances under our belts and show we're starting to turn the ship around
  2. Edozie is better at this IMO, though understand why he was let out on loan
  3. I think more likely he goes to a mid level Prem team. Goalkeepers don't seem to have the mobility that outfield players do - I can remember Jaaskelainan getting rave reviews season after season but still staying at Bolton. And there are one or two questions about Ramsdale away from his shot stopping
  4. I won't be at all surprised if he leaves, but given his issues at Chelsea and the fact he's still learning his trade, I don't think it would be crazy if he stays and signs an extension
  5. SR are not doing a good job but we would have gone down under Gao eventually too. Ralph and Ings saved that regime almost by themselves
  6. Looks a quality young player in a struggling team to me
  7. We need to pay bigger fees for strikers than other positions. This has been our blind spot for years
  8. Where can I read the stories about Elyonoussi, Vestergaard and AA? Or were they just on the forum?
  9. The question is, why has no other Premier League club come in and picked him up if there's this untapped potential waiting to be unleashed? The fact is that every other top fight club in Europe's major leagues has come to the same conclusion as us
  10. The passing game is good for teams with more ability to get the results they deserve. It worked when we were a better team in the Championship but won't work now we're weak in the Premier League. It's always worth trying a new manager to see if they can turn results around. Martin isn't so valuable that it's worth sticking with him for next season
  11. Che had scoring streaks for us too. Let's see if he maintains it over the season
  12. It's weird though that Bree is now ahead of him in the pecking order having been behind last year
  13. Interestingly that's the exact same record as Marek Saganowski at the start of his Saints career
  14. He was on a good run last season then got injured and lost his place. I think a loan will be good for him, and think he can make it in the Premier League (unlike Sulemana who I'm writing off)
  15. Weren't Brentford playing it out from the back yesterday? They were just doing it well
  16. Sure, and we still made a ruthless decision
  17. Last time we came up the club made a brave decision to sack Adkins. Will we do the same again? Martin has a few more games for me but things have to improve
  18. It has to be said that we turned it around last season after getting tonked by Sunderland. No I'm not feeling that confident but it could happen
  19. Likely the best Saints goalie since Niemi but the most exciting goalie signing since Shilton?
  20. When you think about how many points Bazunu lost us last season, it brings into focus how much this improves us
  21. He probably agreed all along but had to make the best of the players he had
  22. Danny Ings...
  23. How many transfers have we made this summer now? It's a pretty decent number, even if we haven't shelled out on a big one
  24. There's never any guarantees that a young player will fulfill their potential. We sign a bunch of them and the successes pay for the failures. It would be madness to stop investing in young players on the basis that they sometimes don't work out
  25. Depends if the latter is deemed to have higher resale value
