I will email them, I am only going to do the leg work in putting a site together, speaking to a few contacts to get publicity etc..... as I said, this is not a group or movement that is being set up, it's an event that people can or cannot choose to join in. The people who don't agree will have their say by entering the stadium, the people that do will have their say by marching away. I certainly don't want all the radio interviews and all that other stuff, I am sure that there are plenty that do though, and they can. This is not some personal ego trip. I think the march to the ground should be swapped for a march away, that's my personal opinion, but people should be allowed to choose between the two or both if the lads still plan the march.... and there is also no reason why both can't be done. One thing I will say, is that a march to the ground will get about 10% of the publicity it did last time in the press and media, for the pressure to continue, then things need to be changed and stepped up a gear. Anyway, my missus went to bed 2 hours ago, I better go to bed as well now or she will think I have been sitting up looking at porn again. :-(

For anyone who didn't read the other thread.... this is a brief outline of what I propose. The ONLY way the club will have to take action is if you hit them in the pocket. Now as I have said before, and I will repeat. An organised protest at 2:30pm on the Saturday of the Preston game. At 2:50, the march leaves St Marys and heads back up to town. On leaving STH's put their stubs for the game in a bucket, with a note attached if they wish, non STH's simply place a note in their with their name and stating why they are not going, calling for Lowe and Wilde to step down. A meeting place in town where the protest continues, I suggest one of the larger pubs, such as the Square. Now THAT would have a massive impact, marching to the ground again is not going to get any extra press other than ' Saints fans marched again ' Seriously lads and lasses, get real if you think another march to the ground will have any effect. Our club is down, there is no way out other than a miracle. We might as well go out fighting eh?
-
Simply to voice a very f*cking strong opinion on the state of our football club, not to speak to the likes of you. :-)
-
And they might be even fewer once we are in League 1 with nobody to buy us. Not knocking you, like I said, everyone has their reasons.... would you try and do your bit by not purchasing anything from the concourses, programmes or megastore?
-
So, just for a thread of it's own, who would support a march AWAY from St Marys, if it was organised properly? If a place where we could gather, listen to the game, and have a few beers was laid on? Who is prepared to boycott SFC for the Preston game? Whether it be the Megastore, programmes, Bars, Burgers etc or the main event of marching AWAY from the stadium directly before kick-off. Tonight proved to me that there is no way out, we need a miracle to survive, there is still time for change and there is still time to get a decent manager in to fire up the lads and bring the fans back. If you wanna win, then you haven't gotta sing, you have got to start making Lowe and Wildes position untenable..... the only way to do this is to hit them where it hurts, which is in the pocket. So can we have a poll please? Would be interested to how many people would 100% back this initiative..... if the numbers are there then it would have a MASSIVE impact, if the numbers are not there then we run the risk of being a laughing stock again, if it goes ahead. So...... would you be prepared to boycott the Preston game? Yes or No?

Who will you support if Saints go really under ?
StuRomseySaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
In all honesty, if they don't leave, which I don't think they will, and if we went into administration, which we will, and if they bought the club, which I think they will.... ..... then it would be AFC Southampton for me. -
Hello. Great Thread. Losers.

With all due respect mate, a march is not effective. I see another one is being organised..... why? The march was a good spontaneous gesture and should not be repeated. If you still want to protest then do something different, like the 'reverse march' that I suggested, or boycotting the concourses. Yes it is hurting the club even more by boycotting, which is why it will be effective.... sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. As soon as the club start losing significant revenue Barclays will want answers, and will put pressure on Lowe and Wilde to walk and hand power over. You can march to the ground every game till the end of the season, it's not going to change a thing. Lastly, fair play, enjoy your time in the limelight, but if this is going to be repeated every game then we run a serious risk of looking like a bunch of clowns, and with respect, my Facebook inbox and threads on here contain far too many attention ho-bag statements from organisers for my liking and suspect there is a danger of their new found 'fame' going to their heads. If you want to step things up a bit then fine, but think up something new lads. Just to clarify, I am not knocking Saturdays march, I am knocking the one organised for Preston.

If you want to do a succesful march then there is only one way. Start outside St Marys at 2:45pm and march back to town, congregate in a large pub like the square and remain there for the duration of the game. The press and media would love that story, it would hit the club hard financially etc and action would HAVE to be taken. Even if Lowe and Wilde didn't want to budge, Barclays would give them a nudge seeing as they would be directly involved in the loss of revenue. How many people would do this? Not many I guess.... if there was the same numbers who were willing to boycott a game than those that marched to the ground, then it would achieve it's goal. Like I said, fair play for the march, but ultimately it will achieve nothing. Infact, the march will have actually generated revenue due to the number of people down at the ground for 1:30pm when they would normally be in a pub! So the march probably earnt SFC EXTRA money!!! The only way to get a result is to hit them were it hurts.... the pocket.

Oh, by the way, I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but today is the last day of the duck hunting season ( seriously ), is this where Lowe was today and the 'Ski Trip' was just a cover-up to save people from having even more of a pop at him? And wan't an apt day to have the 'duck off Lowe' banner out today! I hope the press take not of this, could make for a good story tommorow and saves them from doing their research!
-
Oh.... and by the way, the most effective way imo would be to do the march again.... but have the starting point outside reception 15 minutes before kick-off and do the march in reverse, ending up back in the town centre..... or even better a big pub like the square for about 3pm. Would only need to do that once or twice before change is forced upon the current regime.
-
Hands up... proved me wrong. Fair play to all of you that went, seen a couple of video clips and looked like a good mix of fans, and so far have not seen a clip of mongs waving at cameras etc.... so will look good in the media. I am not sure it will be effective... but time will tell, I've been wrong once this week.

lol - Death Threats, Svennson made a coach, Policing costs, new managers. There is more Propeganda coming from St Marys than in Hitlers regime!!!!

Here I am. :-) Uni is completely pointless and a MASSIVE drain on tax-payers money. I have previously researched that on an average wage, a tax payer will pay £400 a year towards people on University courses. Anyone who thinks that the 'fees' students pay cover anywhere near what their course costs are seriously deluded. I am all for people going to Uni and studying a course which they NEED to do their chosen career. For example, Nurses, Doctors, Law etc It is the spongers and wasters studying pointless courses just so the tax payer can pay for them to drink snakebits and act like c*nts that I hate. In 90% of industries, an apprenticeship, taking a junior role, or simply moving up the ladder is a much more effective way of earning decent money. If my children want to be Doctors etc then I will support them going to Uni, if they want me to pay for them to go on a jolly studying Media Studies, Tourism, David Beckham Studies or something equally pointless, then they will be dissapointed. They will be given the option... join the Army or get a job/apprenticeship. Harsh but fair. Just for the record - I f*cking hate tax-robbing students.

Everyone else won so it's 2 points dropped on everyone else around us and relegation becomes more of a certainty. Why did that mug start with Saga on the bench as well?
-
I didn't pay a fiver and it's no slower for me. :-)

Going to Wales with the missus on the Saturday, going out for a meal in the valleys in the evening, she has yet to be informed that we are stopping in Bristol enroute.... I am sure she won't mind, even though she doesn't like football. :-) I like to think of it as a fair compromise, I could have easily gone on the train with the lads and got smashed.

Demonstration for Swansea game- Time and place!!

Wake up and smell the coffee mate, Saints are not big news. A march causes no disruption to anyone, why would the news cover it? As I predicted earlier in the thread, JP resigning got next to no coverage in the papers... I looked through at least 5 national papers the day after, not a single one of them had more than a paragraph on the situation, 2 of them were in the 'soccer shorts' section, not even allowed to be a story in it's own right! If JP leaving doesn't reach the news, then why do you think that a march will? Fair play to anyone who gives up their time to turn up, prove me wrong, but if you honestly think it will make any significant news in the national press and media and will cause the slightest bit of disruption or concern to the SFC board then you are deluded. 160 people have lent their name to the cause... don't expect many more than that to turn up though. There are effective ways of protesting, a couple of hundred people on a leisurely walk to the stadium, getting there earlier than they would usually, hence spending more in the club, will not. Here's one for you that would work and be legal. Boycotting of the bars and kiosks, programmes and megastores. They already have 70-80% of their ticket money already bagged, people not using the other revenue streams will hit them harder than any march. Obviously some people can choose to not turn up at all. A march WOULD be effective if everyone walked there, and stayed outside reception for the duration of the game.... that WOULD make the headlines, both local and national.... the thing is, knowing how fickle our fanbase is, how many would do it? How many would give in and not be able to handle not watching the game? If an event was organised that said there would be a mass sit-in outside reception during the game, then I would be all for it.... that would make the headlines, easy to organise, it doesn't even have to be an organised march up there. Simply everyone meet at 2:45pm. There are ways and means.... in my humble opinion, a march is not one of them. -

Sure it will, just think there are better ways. Not sniping, fair play to anyone who gives up their time for the cause... just trying to give a realistic prediction of what will happen. Saints are not big news anymore mate, it hurts, but it's the truth. For one reason or another, I won't be protesting, infact I won't even be at the game now. Go me! :-) -

I don't think you lot get it. Having a march up the high street singing 'We want Rupert Out' and Pompey fan on a string causes not a single bit of disruption to Ruperts day. He will be tucking into his meal and entertaining guests whilst you lot are walking around in the ****ing down rain. Don't flatter yourself that it will make national news... it might get a couple of seconds on South Today, even less on the Champsionship, and maybe a paragraph in the papers.... AT MOST. Southampton are not a big team anymore and are not newsworthy. For a good indication.... but the papers tommorow and see how much coverage our manager walking out gets. There were times when it would have been on the back page, nowadays, we will be lucky if it gets within the back 5 pages. People need to wake up and smell the coffee. A march is going to cause next to no obstruction to the day, and is going to recieve next to no publicity. FFS even the Saints Trust, who have done NOTHING the last 2 years manage to get their mugs on TV and in the papers! It's not that hard! So, I don't know what this march is supposed to achieve.... but spontaneous protests are the way ahead and have much more passion and effect. -

Fossy, I am not knocking the people for trying, fair play to them.... I am simply predicting what will happen. If I am proved wrong and there is 1000+ people marching to the stadium then fair play.... I just predict it won't be..... If people are going to turn up and make it a decent protest then fair play... I am simply exercising my right not to forfit my pre-match pints. If I feel the need to protest, it will be done during and after the game.
