Fanbase-wise it is not impossible, if Marcus spent big we would easily fill a 40k stadium and more than likely a 50k stadium... the fanbase is there, there is no question about that. So the turnover from gate reciepts could match the Chelsea and Tottenhams etc... ... the problem is the brand. It would take someone bloody amazing at marketing to turn Southampton into a brand like Chelsea / Man Utd etc and to be honest... it would never happen. However with the right money spent, there is no reason whatsoever why we shouldn't be on a par with Everton, Tottenham and Villa... that is a very realistic target for Cortese to have.

Where do you dream / hope Saints will be in 5 years? What I hope, and expect this time in 5 years is... - We will have just finished around 8th in the Premiership. - We will have been back to Wembley for a League / FA Cup Final ( and JPT 2011 ) - We will have a new 40,000 capacity stadium under construction. - We will once again have the leading Academy in the country. That is the best-case scenario and one which I think is very realistic.

I am about 20 days in... I am considering coming off it because.... I have a hamstring injury so I can't run for 2 months and Carpal Tunnel so I can't lift weights... so gym is out... I am also spending alot of times in hotels over the next couple of weeks with the business picking up the room bill.... FREE BEER!!! I might give up and give it another go when I am free to use my gym membership again and not getting offered free beer.

I think it has been here for a while, there is also the Copthorne and Ramada hotels which everyone else is staying in... I booked this one on my own because I think most of the people I work with are c*nts! :cool: ... I didn't realise what view I would get though. :-(

Pardew has done an acceptable job. I will pat him on the back if I see him, but he does not warrant a man hug yet. He has achieved what the minimum requirement would be... us getting in and around the playoffs but added a very nice bonus of Wembley. Next season I expect us to jump out the blocks get into the top 2 and stay there. Why? Because man for man we have the best squad by a country mile in this division, and it will be even better after some summer buys. Before anyone pipes up with Leeds / Notts Forest etc etc... they did/do not have anywhere near the quality that we have at our disposal. Most championship teams would dream of having players like Waigo Connolly and Barnard on the bench for them.

Still after tickets if anyone has any.... Yes.... I am super plastic now. :-)

Oh well, looks like I will be saving some money from not having to do the now pointless trips to Gillingham and Yeovil.

Not only that, they come out of MCTC a better soldier and many go on to have good careers in the army. Most recruits who return to soldier are promoted within a year of release.

Exactly... and his reward if he refused the posting? Being charged with refusing to soldier, stripped of his uniform and chucked in a cell with one damp blanket for warmth until he comes to his senses. You can't try and beat the Military system... stick that dosey foreign bint in prison I say.

People may not respond to a shouting and a kicking... there is no time in the army to put your arms around someone and give them a cuddle. If they cannot handle the odd slap in the Army, how are they going to handle being captured by the enemy and interrogated... I very much doubt the Taliban are going to ask if they are ok and say " if you think we are being nasty please let us know and we will stop " All recruits should be kicked about a bit... the idea of Phase 1 training is to mentally break someone and build them back up into a soldier... you can't do this by worrying about what the PC brigade think about it.
