Bournemouth have what we don't: pace, energy, a clear style of play, ambition to wins games and confidence.
-
Listen to Gary Neville's United comments and they could be just as valid of it were Saints. The Manager isn't the biggest problem and a new one won't be the solution.
-
I do. Under Pochettino and Koeman I thought we had a major chance, especially at home. Mostly because we had a sprinkling of top 6 quality players in those teams, attackers who could hurt anyone and a solid defence.
-
Hughes presser mostly consisted of him saying he is confident our home form will improve without offering any auggestions as to why, and mentioning that we just haven't had many home games under his tenure, overlooking failure to beat any of Burnley, Brighton or Leicester this season.

http://www.onzemondial.com/transferts/om-lille-enzo-robise-jeune-pepite-southampton-174476 Arguably our best academy talent from the pieces I have seen. Marseille and Lille have tried to poach him.

Pochettino was the breakthrough at PL level. He took us from a relegation fighting team to an upper midtable side but one with a style that was clear and that thenplayers clearly believed in. He changed the perception of Saints as a PL club (probably briefly as we now find ourselves in back to back relegation scraps). Easily the best Saints manager of my lifetime because of the transformative effect he had. Koeman obviously superb too. Shame we couldn't keep either of them as its been firmly downhill since then.

Hoedt filmed a Sky interview today at Staplewood so can't be that much of a problem. Plus he was on the bench last night.
-
He missed his last pen but I would go for him over four of our five takers tonight. Strange not to bring him on IMO.
-
Good win, sounded like we were decent although from radio Yoshida a bit shaky. Mad from Hughes aside from the strong selection though, Davis an odd sub and to not bring on Austin and JWP for pens was utterly bizarre, despite the fact we won. We are very reliant on Redmond for creativity, need him fit all season.
-
About him being a world class Manager? LOL.
-
Not hard to see why Bmth are good going forward. Players with pace, team that plays at a high tempo and looking to be direct. Brooks at a little over what we paid for Armstrong will be a better signing long term.
-
Golden post IMO.

https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mark-hughes-wolves-southampton-verdict-15217631 Hughes: "At the moment that little bit of luck is lacking. “The goals are a disappointment, clearly, but you can’t allow good players opportunities to get into key areas of the field by defending poorly.” Luck. LOL.
-
Good of Redmond to be calling out slackers IMO. He has probably been our best player this season, unlike Cedric or the woeful Austin.
-
Hey won't sack him, but its pretty clear we are going nowhere under Hughes and will be bottom 6 and in a repegation fight again - without question.

http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-advanced-negotiations-new-head-scouting-counting-enormously-outlook/ Obviously need a replacement for Bill Green who sadly passed last year. Would imagine its quite a sought after job with a lot of interest so should be able to get someone of high calibre in what is a massive role, especially at a club like Saints where we cannot/will not buy ready made players. Be interesting to see if this happens.
-
He was never interested in Saints, despite the rumours. All IMHO of course. Morph

I agrewd that Puel had to go, as much because he had lost the fans as anything on the pitch. The atmosphere was terrible towards the end of the season. I missed one game on my ST (Palace) and think the last home goal I saw was the game VVD got injured in which was 21st January. Any Manager will find that hard to overcome. However, unlike Pellegrino and Hughes, he did have a clear style and was able to get the team playing a particular way quite quickly, which is usually the sign of a good Manager. Puel was certainly hamstrung with injuries and shambolic recruitment (or lack of) but in the end he had to go because of the feeling in the stadium. Problem wasn't removing him, it was the replacement.
-
And last. And the one before that. Unlucky guy, must be a total coincidence!
-
Clearly we need a quick and direct wide player. Thats the no1 requirement by an absolute mile. Shipping out Austin and replacing with a player who can run would be a bonus.
-
JWP shielding the defence?
-
Nothing of note after todays game, where none of the decisions could be blamed on the ref. Instead it seemed to be set piece defending that was singled out.
-
Liverpool could threaten that possession record you would think. 81% or somewhere near that. To think we finished ahead of them only 3 seasons ago! One side has improved massively and the other imploded.
-
Thats such a ridiculously defensive lineup. Crazy that our squad only has two wingers. Clearly hoping to grab a 0-0 as nothing going forward on the bench due to Ings, Moi and Gabbi missing out.
