an injured Svensson still gets in on one leg. Thats a terrible side you gave made there. Terrible.

Camara walks into that side. ****ing electric.
  3. jump across to the contracts thread. Boy is it depressing reading. Not a single player that you think, ****, not long before he's out of contract, hope we can tie him down for longer...plenty that we are stuck with for years to come though.
  4. I thought exactly that last season before Ralf turned things around. It feels like we are repeating Sunderland path to relegation, surviving for two seasons, continuing to buy tosh players and suffering previous poor signings before crashing out of the league in the third season of struggle.
  5. good analysis. I am all for keeping possession, but we struggle to do that. If you don't have top class players throughout the side that can retain the ball then you need to get it to those that can or change the style/methodology. The way we are playing five at the back is not working.
  6. he certainly doesn't seem to have the answer, but does anyone? I don't see a top class keeper, or any CB or CM at the club good enough. There is a little bit of flair out wide, but the strikers are not top class. The youth players around the first team squad don't improve us. We could be doing better, but this side is not strong.
  7. did you go to any of the Saints West Ham games at St Marys when he was there? Crikey. They were dreadful. There was no attempt to play at all. Nudder. If smashing the ball into outer space at every opportunity is classified as functional then I'd prefer disfunctional thanks.
  8. spot on. Ralf doesn't seem to have a clue what his best 11 is. He makes so many changes every week. How are players ever going to find form, confidence and an understanding? I know why he went five at the back (with four we shipped goals), but Koeman had it right, tighten the ship with five against the top sides, then move back to a four against the rest.
  9. I say what i see, and that's how bad we were in the first half. Thankfully we have improved tenfold in the second half. Come on now Saints lets get after them. Boufal, messed about by every single manager we had had should be playing every week even if he goes through a lean spell.
  10. we don't know what we are doing. Not a ****ing clue. No plan, no shape, no idea. I think we loo worse than ever. Two games of 11 men behind the ball has drained the last bit of forward play out of us. I cant see how we are going to score never mind win a game.
  11. we look beaten. Confidence is shot to pieces. We don't even look a minor threat on the break. Desperate.
  12. We get a throw in, take ages to take it, then Cedric throws it waste height to Vestagaard ,who just volleys it aimlessly up the park to no one, with possession instantly turned over. What a complete load of ****ing ****. We are struggling to do absolutely anything well right now, even the complete basics of the game. We give the ball away so cheaply its not true. We want to play a short passing game, but we simply are not good enough to do it.
  13. 12-1 on southend to win tonight. A must win game for Kenny J perhaps...blast I jinxed it.
  14. love of flat fish apart, we have plenty in common
  15. doesn't the journey lose a bit of magic if you know the destination is ****?
  16. I thought Danso, when he came on, looked a little loose with the ball, which made me nervous, but he at least seemed to have the size and physicality we have been missing for several years. Hard to say if he is good enough to play at CB in the Prem straight away, but seeing as we loaned him you'd think that is what Ralf had in mind. Looking forward to seeing us go for it next week. McCarthy made a couple of errors, but is the right choice. We have some choices to make at the back and up front. Ralf needs to get them right.
  17. wish the Saints could cheer me up as much as the skates keep doing.
  18. if we don't stay up we could well go into financial meltdown. Besides, if you don't want to be in the top flight, what is the point of it all? Don't answer that. There is no point to all.
  19. The effort was there, but if we hadn't scored the early goal we would be moaning about a complete lack of adventure or effort to score. It was better than during the week, but not a lot. We were encamped in our own half and reliant on City NOT taking their chances. Eventually they did. Don't get me wrong, I am pleased to see the likes of Romeu and JWP chucking themselves in front shots, but that bravery needs to be matched on the ball. Time after time we just hoofed it nowhere or in to touch instead of having the bravery to keep the ball, draw the foul and at least try to make the odd break away. City are top class, but they are still human and susceptible to concede on the break. I guess we had the goal and just shut up shop, but we have to do more when we have the ball. At Everton we cant have ten man behind the ball. One positive was Djenepo when he came on. Boy does he look full of confidence and he MUST start next week. With a solid base behind him, we can win that game.
  20. Lee Mason is giving us nothing
  21. what a difference getting a goal and something to hang on to make not only to the performance but to how we perceive the side. We have hardly got out of our own half, but when you are in front you can live with it. Want to see Redmond try to beat two or three on the break. He has it in him to score a wonder goal and seal an amazing win. COYR
  22. I wonder if they need to buy all 35 houses on Alverstone Road that back onto the Milton end for this 15,000 seater stand (or is that the new North Stand?)? If they have bought all of those sold since Disney took over, they will have 6 to date. At this rate just the ten years to get them all - unless a Southampton property owner sticks a spanner in the works and gazumps them. Or are they buying the industrial units on Rodney Road?
  23. Ive been pointing out JWP inability to get close to an opponent since he got in the first team. Our entire midfield is full of mediocre athletes that don't put teams under pressure, give the ball away too often, get tired trying to get the ball back before leaving huge gaps to exploit. We badly need some legs in there with some quality too. Shame Lemina didn't work out. No idea why we did not look to replace him thus summer.
  24. we really might as well have just forfeited. Get amongst them FFS.
