  1. brilliant draw. Not been to Stanley before and expect that is the same for many, so expect the tickets to be in demand. Yes I know, we've still be beat Derby, but we will.
  2. I've been touting him for years. I seem to remember there was an opportunity for us to sign him at one point (I might be mistaken) three or four years ago when he seemed to fall out of favour. It didn't happen and he worked his way back into favour and hasn't looked back. I think he is exceptional. He got the plaudits last season finally, but he has been top class long before that. Love the strength his possesses with back to goal and under pressure. Shame we cant pay the gazillions he will get in China. £11m is not exactly peanuts when a players has only 6 months on his contract, but £11m is yesterdays £1m I guess. Hope we at least enquired, although I guess we have to lower the wage bill before we can add to it.
  3. we are only loaning these experience players because absolutely no one will buy them (teams cant afford their wages or want/need to pay a transfer fee). Chelsea on the other hand are in general loaning younger players out to gain experience, increase their value and put them in the shop window.
  4. Is Ralf going to switch to a 2-3-5 formation? Maybe that's the way round having a team full of terrible defenders - don't play them.
  5. a two game run, starting against Fulham and Watford this season is the only consecutive starts. He had two spells when he started four games in a row last season. The season before that he started pretty much every game apart from a three game injury spell.
  6. is being picked ahead of Sisto, who is popular on this forum.
  7. that sounds about right. However, I think his Italian caps and early signing form might just be enough for us to demand a fee. It's got to be now though. Another 5 months of not playing and he will definitely be worthless.
  8. Is Dembele really going to China or is that just his agent trying to flush out offers from big clubs? Out of our league, but exactly the quality, size and power we need to add to our squad.
  9. great news. Will be like a new signing if he gets back to his best.
  10. we can get £15m for Austin?
  11. ...you're old enough to remember that summer in 1975 when it snowed right? OK, so it was in Birmingham, but strange things do happen and it wouldn't be beyond the realms of normality for us to sign someone in January that gives us a lift.
  12. Suspect the FA might have wanted to reprimand him for his parklife rant. Now they get their chance. It's shame there cant be banter between fans and crowd anymore.
  13. Players only leave if there is someone willing to buy them. Gabbi wants to go back to Italy and his agent has done the work to generate interest from clubs. Austin on the other hand is happy here, so his agent hasn't been out flogging him. He also hasn't done anything much to attract unsolicited attention, sadly.
  14. Cheers. When you say injury may scupper the deal back to Portugal, what do you mean? He's now fit and playing.
  15. I assume its a loan because that enables Bournemouth to pay the lions share of his wages over that period?
  16. is that the same Sisto that is being kept out of the Celta Viga side by Boufal?
  17. played well last night and thats not something I say lightly. 10 mean behind the ball will have helped as it reduced the space he needed to cover, but he but himself about and retained possession well.

    Steven Davis

really enjoyed watching him play for us and wish him all the best. He played a crucial role in some of our best sides. Brilliant first touch and work rate to match. We seem to have found a natural replacement in Armstrong that offers us the legs Davis doesn't quite have anymore.
  19. good description. a bit too casual and needs to sharpen up. Not sure he has Shaw's pace or is as comfortable in possession. It's essential our youth system develops players, so fingers crossed he can shine as it makes a big difference financially to have young players (on lower wages) in the first team.
  20. He's been steady. He doesn't have genuine pace which is a concern long term. He does offer a physical presence that Cedric hasn't and he looks pretty comfortable on the ball, though not as good as Cedric. Going forward he hasn't done a lot yet, but perhaps he has been asked to not bomb on too much. Also, as he gains confidence he might start to add a little more attacking threat. He doesn't seem to be high energy. Perhaps that's down to his running style - he glides rather than pumping his arms etc. but he certainly needs to impose himself. The rash challenges to gain his yellow cards have at least shown he is willing to put himself about. He hasn't been terribly exposed defensively, especially as we have played 5 at the back. His positioning has been OK, but his distances need refining. There is a lot of room for improvement. Hopefully he can do that.
  21. just a bit more detail for those that are interested: first four games he was on the bench and was brought on in each game, scoring in the fourth. started the fifth game, played 70 minutes but got injured, missed the next game, then was an unused sub in game after. Came on in the week 7 game for last 20 minutes, scoring. He started the next 4 games, but came off after 74, 81, 45 and 63 minutes. Came on for last half hour in week 13 game. Started next four games, subbed after 63, 66, 71 and 76 minutes.
  22. We need more threat going forward from our wing backs. Valery and Target or Cedric on the wrong side don't cut the mustard at all. Romeu runs out of steam at around 65 minutes, so Hoj would have been handy even off the bench.
  23. he did **** all in the first half, giving the ball away a few times, so might hve been tactical
  24. Fulham Cardiff and Huddersfield are the three worst teams, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean they will be relegated.
