  1. Me he would, but he is injured? Still can't quite work out why no one signed Morgan and shaw last summer.
  2. Is it? A pacey left back that is strong, good in the air, has a great touch, solid in defence and decent going forward isn't the easiest thing to find. If it was then why spend £30m on ours? This sort of thing is exactly what was said when Bridge was replaced by Le Saux. It was a terrible deal and one that saw us far far weaker after Wayne had gone. I seem to recall the same thing was said of Bale, "too much money to turn down and we can use that cash to strengthen the squad", but his sale took us from promotion candidates to relegation fodder. A left back can and currently does make our side tick. When Shaw is not in the side, we don't just concede more goals but we also struggle to create chances. I agree he is likely to leave, the kind of wages man city, united and Chelsea can offer would turn anyone's heads, but don't think for a second that all that cash will make it easy to replace him.
  3. Their academy hasn't been too shabby over the last ten years and they have one or two very decent youngsters again such as Lascelles and Paterson. Darlow is a good young keeper and Landsbury has finally started to fulfill the talent he promised at Arsenal. They just need to buy the right striker in the window.
  4. Their owner is absolutely minted.
  5. He will be Nottingham Forrest chairman before you know it so I am told
  6. and it only seems like five minutes since you were posting "...our play off hopes are now hanging by a thread".
  7. good point and Lovren has arguably been our player of the season
  8. a change in policy in terms of % of wages we are willing to pay perhaps?
  9. In a Wenger-style moan, we could have bloody loaned Barnard to a 4th division side that hadn't stuffed the skates twice already.
  10. that £150,000 to Tal Ben Haim on the 31st August 2014 will be 500 season tickets worth.
  11. Every call out to unblock those pipes sees it fall back that little bit further...
  12. why on earth would it?
  13. What do you want the FA to do? Punish them further? They are fan owned now don't you know.
  14. Many of the chances are not clear cut and players like Lallana and Rodriguez need to get their feet in the right position otherwise shots lack power
  15. Hard to keep up with the price rises at the top end, but I'm not sure Rodriguez is top end. He is great for us, turning defence into attack and being in the right place at the right time, but there is loads of room for improvement.
  16. Not sure we ever have. Wright, Bond, Gittens in 87 is stretching things. Ruddock, Moore, Osman, Hall in 91, but not sure they were top class. Claus, Svensson and er, Williams?
  17. In a game that has no chance of selling out, why take a chance that Yeovil might come back for extra tickets?
  18. Martin isn't good enough at this level. The pre-mentioned long john silver has a better left peg than him. He did a decent job when called upon in the Championship, but he was still found wanting a little.
  19. very good point. Unless of course the story in the paper wasn't true (there has been one or two flying about) and KL wasn't being entirely honest when she said it was "with great regret that we accepted Cortese' resignation".
  20. Quality.
