The "little things in life that really annoy you" thread
Chez replied to JackFrost's topic in The Lounge
Middle Lane drivers. Drivers that don't indicate. Drivers that push out of side roads cos they have no patience. Drivers that stop on a main road to let a driver on a side road out thereby slowing everybody down. Drivers that get irate when I don't let them push in from a side road. Wait you turn,. If everyone did then traffic would flow quicker and we'd all get there quicker. Drivers that drive just slow enough so they get across the lights, but you don't. Drivers that don't give you a wave of thanks when you have waited for them even though they could quite easily have been the one to stop and wait for you. Drivers that queue jump then force there way back in at the front of the queue (by signalling and moving in without being welcomed to do so) thereby making the queue even longer for those that did queue patiently. ****s. Drivers that get in the wrong lane at roundabouts, probably because they are queue jumping, but cut you up rather than go round the roundabout again. Drivers that throw their lit ciggy out of the car window so it hits your window in a flash of embers scaring the **** out of you as you were expecting a firework to hit you as you drove along. Drivers at the front of the queue at the traffic lights that are too busy chatting and don't see the change of lights. They then go through them fine, but those several cars back don't get across cos you've been a selfish ****. Drivers that don't join the motorway at a suitable speed similar to the traffic on the motorway casing cars to slow down to avoid them. Drivers that go less than 55mph on a motorway. You are a danger to everyone else. **** off onto an A road. Drivers that park on double yellow lines near junctions making it difficult for you to pull out from them safely. Drivers that overtake you and then pull in immediately almost taking the front of your car off. Drivers that tailgate, even though there's an average speed limit. Drivers speaking on their phone whilst driving. Drivers texting whilst driving. Drivers that fail to put their lights on when its dark or raining or both. Drivers that leave their fog lights on when its not foggy. Drivers that fail to clear their car of ice or snow. Lazy ****s are a danger to the rest of us. Drivers that cut the corners at junctions nearly taking my front end off. Lazy ****s. Drivers that slow down to a stop for no apparent reason and without any indication before then finally using the indicator to tell you they won't be proceeding any further. ******s. Drivers pulling caravans but still going 90mph. And we wonder why there are lots of caravan accidents. Drivers without insurance. Total ******s. Drink drivers. Slime of humanity. -
Jos Hooiveld: "I was the fall guy" - (INTERVIEW)
Chez replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Big centre backs are still required at this level to combat the likes of Norwich, Stoke and West Ham and Jos has done a great job when called upon contrary to what pretty much everyone on here suggested earlier in the season. A few deflected own goals don't make a bad player nor being skinned by Agero and Tevez. He does make the odd clumsy tackle and clearance, but until we find Rio Ferdinand Mark II we will continually have to sacrifice pace for heading ability. -
didn't look weak when winning countless headers all day against Carroll. Perfect player to combat teams like Stoke and West Ham. Apreciate what he can do rather than constantly moaning about what he can't. You need a big lump sometimes.

tough conditions to play it on the deck. Ready made excuse for Fat Sam, but it's four times I've seen us play against his West Ham side now and quite frankly my neck can't take another. Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. OK, so it's an easy jibe, and we're not shy to hit it long to Ricky, but I simply can't believe any football journalist allows him to get away with it when he claims he is unfairly labled as a prehistoric long ball merchant. He is. I applauded him last season. He did what he said he would (get them up) and what he had to do under great pressure. But now back in the top flight and safe there are no more excuses. Watch him sign a ball juggler, continue to hoof it, but claim they play good football. They must do, they have a ball juggler in the side. Enough about them. I thought we played pretty well when not being fouled by Nolan. I counted at least 7 fouls in the frirst half and not even a word. I thought we controlled the first half totally, but we just lacked that Rodriguez pace we needed. I thought Ramirez just gave away too many balls when we needed him to unlock their defence. He has talent, but we need to see the killer ball come off more often. Boruc very little do, again. Made me nervous with some of his kicking, but no real dramas. Clyne 8 wondered if we might drop him like we did at Stoke, but glad we didn't as he was solid defensively and good in attack. Think he really shines with Puncheon in front of him though. Jos 8 had Carrol in his pocket, again. Another terrific game for the man written off by everyone on here. He is doing a job nlow called upon. Would not want any other CB at the club marking Carrol, or any of the other giant strikers in the Prem. Yoshida 6 In the first half he got tight on Carrol and fouled him a few times, leaned into him a few times and generally made life tough, all of which I loved, but in the second half he became a liability. His lack of height led to him leaping far far too early to try and make up for it, he dived in and was even done by Carrol. Fox 6 some good stuff, a couple of nice runs early doors and covering round to save us in the second half, but he got beaten all ends up by Vaz Te at least three times because of poor positioning. First touch good as always, but defensively he was not great and he does threaten going forward like Shaw does. You all know this. Cork 8 he's so consistently great it's not true. Anyone else see him stretching and winnign that header in the second half that otherwise looked a certain goal. He's imense. West Ham didn't even bother with the middle of the field. They gave it up almost immediately. Morgan. 7 disgusting dive. Shame on him and a well desreved yellow. Hate seeing that. I thought he'd grown out if it. The yellow effects his game. It didn't effect him as much as it usually does. Normally it's game over and you might as well take him off, but he still played well, but he just couldn't quite make those tackles in the second half. Davis 8 another decent game. His touch in those conditions was outstanding, Needed him to do a little more in the final third though. Thought he faded towards the end a bit. Lallana 6 started well, but faded and did nothing in second half. Ended up taking himself on at one point. Normally I'd of been calling for Ramirez to be subbed, but I couldn't moan when he was taken off. Right move. Ramirez 6 great finish, but conceded posession to many times, when a good final ball would have us in. It's thr toughest pass to make, but he's not getting any to work right now. That will change, I'm sure. The other thing that concerns me is he doesn't hold a position. He is all over the pitch and leaves us wide open. He needs to find a position and play it. Lambert 7 pretty quiet. Lots of good stuff, but we quite rightly kept it short as Collins eats long balls for breakfast. Need to see him in goal scoring positions a little more. Rodriguez bright as a button and caused no end of problems with his straight running. He's on fire right now. Pumcheon good control and kept the ball well. No real opportunity to open them up. Need to keep him in the fold as we have a lot of choices right now

he never lent them £17m in the first place? Or he's got a sizeable chunk of it back long the way?

where did you go for said boogie?

I love the badge. Best Pannini sticker there was. Hope we don't change it. Wouldn't mind having navy blue shorts with red and white stripe shirt though.

Marcus buying thre club and Lambert signing apart, Lallana's five year deal back in League 1 was the major massive turning point in our rise through the leagues. Tremendous player, exactly the sort of player you want at the club. Us happy clappers have never had it so good.

Benefica are also fan owned and have the largest official membership of any club and as a result I think they claim to be the world's most supported club or something like that. They must be gutted the skates have overtaken them.
-
aren't all four champions league semi finalists fan owned?

There are considerable football debts, but the parachute payments do seem to cover them, so there seems to be no excuses for failure from here onwards. I wonder how many of the 600 that haven't handed over the £900 will do so now the club has been saved? Seeing as you get nothing for your money is there any point?

Seeing as the Adidas brand is all about the three stripes you can bet your bottom dollar that a return to stripes theme will be flogged to death

in his initial games he looked like he might have enough as part of a three man midfield, but he's had so few opportunities since then that its hard to assess what he can and can't do right now. Time on his side. Davis has been great at the front of a three man, but in a two he doesn't cover the ground anywhere near as well as Cork and Morgan. If either of them got injured we'd have problems, but isn't that always the case?

would the £1.45m loan from the PCC not count as debt?

a reminder as to the sized of the debt they will carry please?

I've done my utmost to avoid commenting on the main Thatcher thread because of my deep seated and utter hatred for the women. However, I can't avoid this particular thread. The thought of honouring her with a minutes silence at SMS makes me sick to the stomach. I therefore feel I need to at least say that I am fully against it and do not want my football club to be associated with it in any way. If this does go ahead I would like to be pre-warned. I certainly wouldn't disturb the minutes silence, but I would want to make sure I was not at my seat until it had been completed. I have little knowledge of the Hillsborough `cover up', but if there is any chance, any chance at all that she will be implicated in that, then having a minutes silence at football grounds is going to look pretty bloody stupid if you ask me.

for some 29 is the back end of their career. Not sure about Flamini, he never had great pace so perhaps he can continue at the same level for a few years yet. With Morgan and Cork offering midfielders that have the legs to really get up and down the pitch Flamini feels like a step back into the past where players sit and hold and don't do enough quite frankly. AC Milan type wages would be a problem too I would imagine.

Carrick went for about £18m to United back in 2006. It won't be long before Morgan is seen in the same light as Carrick was back then.
