  1. The £4k figure you gave doesn't seem to represent what the average public sector worker would get if they had worked for 30 years. It takes into account all workers even if they had worked for five minutes. Average figures like that are meaningless. I work in the private sector and get the absolute bare minimum contribution from my employer. My pension will therefore be what I pay into a private pension. Is the public sector going the same way?
  2. can you explain what you mean. All I can see my generation inheriting is a huge national debt.
  3. is that a fair representation of what public sectors actualloy get or does that figure include public sector workers that peehaps just worked for a few years so weren't entitled to a full payout tereby bringing the average pension amount down considerably?

  5. within those layers of people to blame are there not the actual people to blame?
  6. Over the last few years there has be a lot of times we have played brilliantly in the first half, sometimes getting our reward sometimes not, but then after the break we have failed to match that level or the opponent has stepped it up (after a rollocking perhaps) allowing them back into the game. A good half time kick up the ass every now and then might be just what's needed to try and prevent this happening. That said MP did it on Saturday, yet it was Liverpool that came out of the blocks and took control of the game straight after half time, so did the rollocking really work?
  7. And here is the fuel for Portpin's solicitor arguement "Why should PKF be able to sell notarfkrap to PST for £3.1m when there is another offer on the table to buy the exact same asset for £6.3m"
  8. aye? We didn't bottle it at all, Wigan just got lucky. We actually showed great bottle to come back from behind, pass them to death and score two goals. We don't lack bottle.
  9. good memory. I was thinkingt about the nightmare Willy Gerrets had in goal for Franchise a few years back.
  10. to be fair to him sometimes he is off balance having twinkletoesed it through a defence. Also unlike many he is more than willing to give it a go with his wrong foot, even tough volleys. Most players will take the safer route of bringing it down and trying to work it on to their stronger foot (Puncheon is a prime example) rather than take the opoortunity when it arises. Thought he had a tremendous game yesterday all in all. His first touch on the run is an absolute delight to watch. The chance in the second half came from great movement and then the most wonderful turnand control all in one movement. Without that skill there would have been no chance. And to think Downing gets in ahead of him in the England squad
  11. likewise. His decision making when kicking has also been impresive. When it needs clearing he gets rid, when he has time he uses it. I also like the fact he gives it a good welly as that turns defence into attack at times.
  12. blimey that's impressive.
  13. there's no anger on this side of the keyboard. I just don't agree with your opinion at all that we shouldn't have signed Ramirez last summer. I think he is exactly the sort of player we needed to to sign. We offloaded decent but `basic' players like Sharp and brought in a player that can beat a man on his own at the top level. He doesn't rely on others to lay things on a plate he creates things. You need that sort to win games at the top level. I also believe we strengthened throughout the side (2 keepers, 2 defenders, 2 midfieders, 2 attackers), so the idea that we shoukd have spent the money on other areas doesn't wash. We did spend money in the other areas.
  14. nice. The ref did keep indicating that players were bumming each other.

    Jos

as his number one fan I'm glad about that, but even I was surprised we started with him yesterday rather than Fonte. Big striker Jos, small striker Yoshida/Fonte.
  16. Thought the crowd on his back had an effect and showed exactly why fans should give skates and other players we dislike the bird. They don't all react well. Time the middle sections started to play their part and give these primadonas some grief. I knke the pomoey fans looked like ****s when throwing the ball at Fox last season, but that hostility can unerve one or two so we should do it ourselves if it helps the side.
  17. Excellent display against an in form Liverpool. Yes they were poor in the first half, but we were good too. Lots of great passing moves, skills and free flowing football. 4-1 at half time would not have flattered us. Rodriguez really should have scored and Lambert must have been gutted not to do more when clean through. My only citicism was our slightly gung ho attitude at times. We leave ourselves wide open to the break from our own corners. We need to learn from that as we have been caught before. We have played well in a lot of games this season and not got the resukt we deserved. Swansea, ManU, Wigan and Norwich hould all have been beaten at our place. This is not a shock. We are not half bad. Happy days. Boruc 8 one great save and some solid handling an decent kicking. A couple of time he played it short and put us under, but put a stop to that quickly Cylne 9 pretty faultless display Yoshida 7 got tight to Sturridge and made his life tricky. He has to do that more. Thought his assing was better today as well. I have to say though that cnetre back looked our weak point, but not surprising as the movement from the Liverpool strikers was sensational. Jos 5 might have been a blessing as I thought he got caught napping a little. Hope the injury is nit too bad as he has been great in recent weeks. Shaw 7 possibly his worst game for us. At times he went astray big style, but he still showed why he is regarded so highly. Great pace in both directions and powerful running to go with it. Just waiting for him to be a little mor egreedy and just run and runa nd then shoot rather than pass. Lallana 9 outstanding game. My man of the match. Involved in everything good. Morgan 8 another solid game Cork 7 a little quiet compared to the last few games. Not bad, just not as great. Still pushing for player of the season for me. Ramirez 7 Very good first half. Very tough to take him off, but bottled a tackle in front of the magare in a period when Liverpool were dominating. Thought he showed why we paid a fortune for him. Lambert 8 lots of great stuff. Lead the line well and a greta out ball. So glad he got his goal. Should have scored when through. Rodriguez 7 worked his socks off as usual. Thought he should have scored in the first half. Actually would have subbed him just before his goal as I thought he looked tired, but his straight running finally got its reward. Font 7 decent display. Given a tough time by their strikers but did enough. Davis right sub at right time. Tight control and passing just what was needed. Not sure why some don't like him. He's hardly had a ppor game all season.
  18. any Englishman that enjoyed 1994 world cup more than ones that England qualified for is a complete and utter liar.
  19. If we sold Morgan for less than £20m I'd be dissappointed.
  20. did you ****. You highlighted Morgan because you tried to suggest both players didn't score goals or create chances but you forgot that Morgan had scored goals this season. If you were trying to suggest a worker had scored more you would have said so at the time. If you must talk absolute ******** then get your facts right, Four league goals. Not a huge difference, but accurate unlike yourself. Laughable to think that Dembele woud have left Fulham to join newly promoted Saints or Lloris leaving Llyon for Southampton. Suggestions like these make you look like foolish. Ramirez set up Morgan for first goal by the way. Love it. Happy clappers get to clap.
  21. Excellent 50 minutes, but MP sacrificed his talent to solidify the middle. Great decision by the manager.
  22. Established premiership side Newcatle with their 50k attedances couldn't keep Demba Ba, but he'd jump ship for newly promoted Saints. What a mug you are.
  23. I classified Morgan as a worker along with Cork (i.e. we had them already so thats why we needed to spend big on a flair player), so why highlight him in a discussion about a flair player? Trying to stegthen you opinion? Not doing a very good job especially as Morgan has four goals this season and been a lot more involved in things further forward. As for Ramirez he has 4 goals in 17 starts. Not prolific as a striker, but for a midfielder not terrible. As for assists I don't read much into those statistics. Fox was lauded on here last season by some mugs for having loads of assists. It didn't make him a great player or even indicate that he had played well. An assist is only granted if you had the last touch before a goal is scored. A proper assist is if you played the key role in the goal. I'm afraid I don't record that stat. I actually used the term`chances'. You must factor in the quality of the finisher. I mean who created the chance at Norwich that Lallana blasted over the bar? I don't know and nor does the stat man, but a chance was created and that's what flair players are brought in to do. Returning to Ramirez I'm certainly not saying he has been a world beater, our best player or anything other than good in some games. But when he plays well he carves teams apart. He won that Villa game at our place. He was on a different level to anyone I'd seen at SMS for a few years. He has tremendous talent, a great first touch, stength, pace, guile and a wicked left foot. If we stay up he coulod become a great here. I'm sure you can come up with a huge list of players we could have bought that would have been better. I'd be interested to hear them.
  24. actually yes. I was pretty happy with the transfer activity in the summer, and I'm still pretty happy wih it now. We signed two keepers, 2 defenders, two midfielders and 2 strikers. Some have worked out better than others, but that's always the case. I recall many saying it was the best ever transfer window. Before it started did anyone think we'd spend so much? Stop ****ign crying all the time and enjoy it.
  25. what exactly is the PST HNW split coming to these days? With £11.4M owed to the players, won't they really own the club?
