  1. I notice the 59% wage to turnover figure is used for 6 month period, but in 2012 wages were actually 102% of turnover. I assume that includes the promotional bonuses. It's hard to get a real understanding of the situation calender year to year, especially with a promotion.
  2. Can we conclude that the BVI loan is £3.8m? If it is just that amount then that washes away pretty much all my worries once more (as the news that the debt had been turned to equity did). Having a £10m, £20m or even £30m loan hanging over us would be a nightmare. Mind you we will still need to cover the large cost of this summers transfers over the next three to four years of trading, so there is additional debt hanging over us I guess. I've not had a chance to look at the document, but if the figures look reasonably healthy that is great. Maybe they can reduce ticket prices next season seeing as the TV money goes up. If you don't ask...
  3. buy the club for £3.12m, take responsibility for the unsecured creditor (£800k) and football creditor debts (£8.5m), but get a ground and £11m of parachute payments back. The existing £4m in the bank pays PKF and the lawyers. Seems like a decent deal to me. I applaud the efforts of the PST, but it strikes me that the creditors have been ill advised. All that parachute money floating around and they accept just £800,000.
  4. don't be daft. this £4m windfall will be passed directly onto the unsecured creditors. The poxy £800,000 they were getting before will be nicely supplemented with that money. The PST would obviously love to have it, but they don't really need it. Their bid has been fully funded for months now, long before the rise in PPs was made clear to them. yeah right.
  5. it's been at least 12 minutes since you've all been reminded about the BestestFansInTheWorldTM so time for another: Rio Ferdinand ‏@rioferdy5 I must say last night our fans done us + our club proud. Best/loudest support I've heard at ANY ground throughout my career. Thank you David Oliver ‏@doliver_25 @rioferdy5 Don't kid yourself Rio. You've played at Fratton Park before, you know what the #Pompey fans are like! :-) #BestInTheCountry
  6. take them to a match. Pre match beer, pie at half time, the game, another beer, curry. That's what I'd want to do if I was coming across.
  7. note factlessallen doesnt answer my question. Have they ratified the bid yes or no? Do they hold any power yes or no? Simple questions and a factless answer.
  8. Wigan at home under Adkins was a very similar game to QPR at home under MP. A team we "expected" to beat at home, started brightly, but quickly ran out of ideas and defensive mistakes that killed us.
  9. salad cream.
  10. glad they won in a way. I'll now enjoy their next defeat as I should do rather then just shrugging my shoulders in expectation.
  11. Get Jos back in the side. If we're up against a big target man Jos is the right player.
  12. this. The number of `big-D' balls we put in was ridiculous. Get to the byline FFS. They had two giant yet time after time we fed them. They have two woeful fullbacks yet we gave them the easiest days ever.
  13. I'm not sure I agree with your assessment of the games. It depends how you want to see things. 1) Everton - outstanding for first 60 minutes. Ran out of steam and Everton deserved their point. 2) United away - lucky to get away with just two goals in 1st half, dominated the 2nd without creating enough. Slightly unlucky not to force the draw 3) Wigan - the better side in the first half, tough to be behind. Tremendous performance in the second and should have won 4) Man City - outstanding performance, worthy winners, hung on well at the end 5) Newcastle - played very well in patches, but equally poor in others. Scoreline flattered the Geordies 6) QPR - by and large we were the better side, but ran out of ideas very quickly and made poor mistakes in defence. I'm not sure the team is playing much better or worse than under Adkins. The pressing style helped us dominate Everton and that was certainly hugely impressive. As was the domination of ManUnited (A) in the second half, but was that any more so than at Chelsea under NA? It's fair to say that we played a hell of a lot better against Wigan than we did against Villa, but was our performance against ManUnited under Akdins at home any worse than the Man City home game? Different result, but performance wise?
  14. Rather than a new or increased future set of payments, I wondered if the PST were just claiming the £4m of parachute payments in the club's bank account, despite the fact this has been earmarked for Birch and lawyer fees.
  15. I can't believe I've found myself defending Fox. I was one of thr first to point out he was poor last season and faced a barrage of "leading assists" responses. The guy never gets tight, is positionally poor, lazy, doesnt get stuck in, can't see or make an easy pass, doesn't bust a gut, doesn't see danger, doesn't defend. What he does do is get the ball down, gets himself out of tight spots and swings the odd decent cross in. I am far from a fan, I just felt inclined to try and defend him as I am fed up of players being abused in games once the become the whipping boy. If he's **** lets say he was **** afterards. But in the next game lets back him, not abuse him. The stuff aimed at Puncheon and Guly in games is recent seasons has been disgraceful and Fox is a game or two away from that.
  16. I do not recognise your description of Fox. He has ability on the ball, but he is amoungst the laziest players I have ever seen. Two marathons? Blimey, he must do that before a game. Fox is not a bad player. He just suffers from a serious lack of pace which means he drops too deep, doesn't get tight and makes it easy for oponents. He needs some good coaching to show how he can nullify a winger even without pace. Garry Neville and many others did it. His problem is he doesn't ever want to risk making himself look poor by comitting himself to anything. If you don't put yourself out there, then you are never going to be beaten. He is never taken on one on one because he hides.
  17. not watched MOTD. Not sure I can bring myself to see the comical defending for Yoshida et al. One question, where did the pressing game go? There was a two minute spell when we `charged', but other than that our pressing game was non existent
  18. likewise. Didn't need to go to ground, having done so he can't lose it, having lost it he can't be caught sat on his arse as the gyy walks past him and sets up the winner. He was to blame for first as well, although it was a great pass to put Remi in. Bad day at the office. Doesn't mean we won't play better next week. We have to play well toi win games and we didn't today. We'll stay up if we play to our best in the remaining games.
  19. Not a great display from us. We started brightly but quickly lost our way and ran out of ideas long before the end. Why we are hoofing it long with 20 minutes to go I will never know. I also don't understand why MP played Ramirez. They had two massive slow centre backs and the ideal attacker was someone to turn those two around. Rodriguez was the perfect player to do that. Ramirez, doing everything in front of them wasn't. Lambert had a poor game too, but he had absolutely no support with Ramirez dropping far far too deep. As soon as Lallana went off we ran out of ideas. Far too many players had below average games. Clyne and Puncheon offered absolutely no threat. Morgan dissapeared for long spells. Ramirez did little and appears to only be able to last 60 minutes. The only player that impressed me was Cork, who had a fantastic game. We must improve massively to get anything next week. Boruc 6 one terrrible pass to Fonte that almost put us in terrible trouble. Made everyone nervous a few times, but no other problems.Couldn't do anything aboiut goals. Very little else to do. Clyne 5 I thought Mbia caused him lots of problems defensively and attacking wise he offered nothing. Get to the byeline for once. Far from his best game. Fonte 7 looked rusty and got away with a few things at times, but good to have him back. Slightly harsh booking. Got forward a lot long before he was pushed up front at the end, but never looked like scoring despite several efforts. I don't want to see him passing it 5 yards square to Morgan. Push up Morgan and let Fonte bring it out from the back. Yoshida 4 absolute rubbish. He's Chris Perry Mark II in my eyes. If you play at CB you must be able to win headers. Like Chris he is too small and he suffers. He won two contested ones all day. At fault for both goals unless my eyes deceive me. Poor positioning and outpaced for first. No reason to go to ground for second. Distribution ****e. Almost caught several times near the end. I simply do not see what you all see in him. We'd have been off with Jos against Bothroyd IMO. Fox 5 One or two good things, one great cross to Puncheon in the second half, but positionally slightly suspect. Get goal side FFS. Always seems to get injured. I'm not a fan, never had been. He's played better and played worse. Puncheon 5 just didn't do anything to hurt QPR. He took them apart at their place, but he did nothing today. Cork 9 absolutely oustanding again. Battled and was head and shoulders out best player, but when you see Cork running beyond Lambert as our further forward player you know we haven't got it right. Morgan 6 very low key display. One great last ditch tackle that saw his name sung, but did not nearly enough. Lallana 7 bright, unlike pretty much everyone elese bar Cork, lots of effort and movement. Boy did we suffer from a lack of creativity when he went off, although it helped us a little by bringing Jay on. Ramirez 5 a better display than we have seen recently (Everton apart), not saying much mind, but because he drops so deep it hindered us as we had little up front to aim at. Touch better but just when you need him to make that pass he failed. The goal was quality, but he didn't deliver overall. If you have someone playing in the hole they have to be special. He has talent, but he's not running games. Very poor engine. Can't last the full game at his age? Lambert 4 very sloppy first half. Looked slow and nothing like the recent snappy performances. Was all on his own, which didn't help, nor did the hoof as the game went on. But when it came to him he wasn't alive. Didn't see enough ball and was never going to win headers against Samba and Hill. Defensively struggled to prevent Samba winning every header from their corners. Rodriguez 7 very sharp and cause them problems. Didn't quite run for him, but should have started. Ward Prowse busys but when you need a goal at the death he isn't the player that is going to do it for you. He isn't going to change the pattern. Did fine. Going to be a player, but offes little impact as a sub. Where was Mayuka???? Shaw 6 some nice touches and he drove on, but one crap cross (worst thing he has done in a Saints shirt - he's been that good) before some suspect defending for their second goal. One last moan. The number of times we have the ball for a throw or a free kick or corner right in their half, **** about, lose it and then get caught on the break has to stop. Far too many 2 on 2s, 3 on 3s having been deep in opposition territory moments before.
  20. did he sign the contract in his jeans?
  21. Fonte http://www.youparklikea****.com
  22. £4m in bank will pay PKF and their lawyers. Kanu su[posedly came to an agreement and is part of the football creditors now. The £2m floating charge is another matter.
  23. hope it makes general sale. I could of got mine already, but got my trouble in tow so have to wait for general bloody sale.
  24. specifically Red**** and if Assou-Ekotto hadn't of got injured when he did, Bale would have been farmed off to Forrest.
  25. Hall seems to forget that the vast majority of constituents don't give a ****ing toss about this tax dodging cesspitt of a company and care more about the basic services they pay for out of their council taxes. John Ferrett's response to the decision: The Council Leader is once again given a platform by this paper for more Lib Dem propaganda. Note there is no counter-view, either in the article or video. One reason is that the News Editor has instructed his journalists not to seek quotes from myself as Leader of the Labour Group. This is what passes for a free press in Portsmouth. The opposition were given less than 24 hours notice of this meeting and no advance briefing of the papers before they went public. Furthermore, we had been promised a meeting as far back as January with the administrator to discuss any changes to the business plan and the changed financial position of the club. That meeting has still to take place, yet the administrator has once again held a gun to the council's head and said ' give us the money or the club gets it'! When the loan was agreed in August one of the conditions was that the club should be purchased for £7.66m. If this condition couldn't be met then the loan should be refused. There was scope for 'minor amendments' yet the club is now being purchased for a staggering £13.56m - I would contend anyone to argue that this massive increase in the purchase price is a minor amendment. Finally, the council is making massive cuts to services in this city, not least to childrens services and social care. In those circumstances is it too much to ask for some transparency and information before a loan of this size is authorised?
