    Subs

Over the last two seasons Adkins has made some fantastic substitutions, right player, right time, but he ****ed it today. Puncheon was having a tremendous game and didn't look tired at all so no idea why he was taken off. Lambert is massive defensively at corners and Lallana relieves pressure by keeping the ball. Terrible subs, terrible. I'm not saying this just with hindsight. Said so at the time. Very fine lines at this level. Can't make mistakes like that
  2. ****, I just stubbed my toe. Bloody Guly's fault
  3. real lack of humble pie on this thread considering the abuse he's taken over the last few years.
  4. aha. The guy is excellent on the ball, really classy, but he's just going to have to get tighter to wingers and risk being beaten every now and then. No point just waving crosses through as he is right now.
  5. no. But I agree with your summary. The fella just doesn't have any pace and knows it so drops off to avoid being taken to the cleaners. Shame just about every prem side has a pacey right winger
  6. yeah, but he gets loads of assists apparently.
  7. but how many newly promoted teams have actually lost the first three games?
  8. I know its chirlish and it is past history but...they're here, they're there, they're every ****ing where, empty seats, empty seats. Sorry had some skates pointing out how empty sms was when they weren't watching us on motd. League 1 with league 1 prices or not they are tin pot
  9. Neither bids are ready says Birch. I assume what he means by that is the PST's bid will be ready once they have renegotiated the player pay offs, good luck, but what needs work on the Portpin bid? Why the delay here?
  10. £100k a week Dempsey with a zero sell on fee? Let's quality for Europe before we leave the tighter business ship behind ay?
  11. nope. You need real top end quality in this league in the final third to unlock teams. Besides we've got these other eggs already in the likes of Ricky, Morgan and Lallana

    Gaston Ramirez

I've not seen even the smallest bit of footage of the lad. So is he any bloody good?
  13. got to add wages to any transfer fee, so three £4m players and their wages is going to add up to more than one £12m player. Personally I always though the Clot had it right, quality of quantity.
  14. The Guardian suggest the Gazza signing was £2.77m. If fans knew that was what we had spent I think they'd view him differently. He's a real talent.
  15. a 450 mile round trip, are you kidding?
  16. so many exotic signings its hard to keep up. I've a feeling after a season his name will be on the entire premierships lips. Henri Camera mark II hopefully.
  17. why on earth do you do this? I thought I was a fanatic, you're off the scale. We've made some exciting signings, Mayuka looks a rare talent for example, so I can't understand why you're not willing to give them a chance. You're very negative for a Saints fan. I mean it's not as though we're a top side, we have struggled for years and years. I'm a pessimist and a cynic, but at some point you've just got to roll with it. If we're not good enough we'll go down. SO what? On the other hand the likes of Ramirez could delight us.
  18. bet you loved it when we were getting are arses kicked. Any league is great if you're winning every week. I'm not a big prem fan, but you either go forward or you quickly start to go backwards. If we hadn't been promoted who knows who'd have left this summer. Be thankful for that and enjoy the ride.
  19. There's me thinking we've signed a keeper, a centre half and a right back. We'll do OK.
  20. best defence on the championship and we sign Clyne, Gazzinga and Yoshida. Football fans are never pleased.
  21. fair point, but what kind of impact does a slow, short goal hanger actually offer? An impact players changes a game with his all round play. Sharp is the kind of guy you need to play the full game and just hope a chance comes his way. He is not an impact sub. Mayuka at least offers pace and tricks that can change the pattern of play. That's an impact.
  22. £30m spent. **** me, suck it up and enjoy it. We might not survive but we've certainly given it a go
  23. I was sure it was Chaplow that was signing for them. Good luck Deano. Decent club, going places if you ask me.
  24. no obligation for the club to tell either
  25. I didn't think sentiment entered your thoughts regarding Saints. I thought all that mattered was results? The fact is we had a choice. Stick with Sharp or buy Mayuka. Which would you have prefered?
