  1. I've seen him several times now for the first team and he looks a very good prospect to me. Decent first touch and not afraid to get on the ball. Big future if you ask me.
  2. we just need to add the actual act of winning to that way of thinking.
  3. an I just posted exactly the same thing and having just watched the highlights he certainly does. Not the only one at fault though. We give the ball away, thy waltz through our middle and then Richardson has to go with Jelavic.
  4. lots of defensive mistakes yet again, but we give possession away cheaply further forward time after time and that's what leads to pressure and counter attacks that result in these mistakes. We have got to keep the ball better and for longer. I never liked the diamond, it left our fullbacks woefully exposed to the 2 on 1 attacks down the wing. The 4-2-3-1 does exactly the same. The problem is what can Adkins do? He could go to a 4-4-2, but we're conceding goals right down our centre so that perhaps won't help things. I know Gazza made some smart saves and but I thought he got his angles all wrong for the second and was too tight to his post for the third and got across his goal too slowly. I only mention this because Davis got a lot of stick for letting near post goals. Gazza has gone the other way. I always thought it was going to be tough. I struggled to see 3 sides worse than us at the start of the season, so I'm not too downhearted. But so long as we keep creating chances we'll win a few games that will keep us in the hunt.
  5. Is Rodriguez right or left footed chaps?
  6. what is the criteria that these fans base this conclusion on?
  7. love seeing them have to turn to formers Saints that are well past their best . Natural order has been resumed.
  8. shouldn't the skates give the FL the chance to turn Chinny down before berating them, or have the FL rubber stamped whilst I wasn't looking?
  9. then why play Seaborne and not him at left back?
  10. tough game for both sides. After tearing us apart last season at Elland Road its little wonder that they fancy their chances. They are weaker this season, but then again we'll probably not put our best side out this time and bringing in players that are not match fit or gelled as a side takes our edge. Should be a good game.
  11. bloody long trip for a midweek game. How much is Bates charging Leeds fans these days. I recall the ticket prices being on the expensive side last time round. Elland Road evening cups games are usually pretty decent affairs mind. See no reason why we should rest too many. Let's try and win this cup. Silverware is what it is all about.
  12. The vitriol on here towards out of favour players like Dickson is a shame. Why the hostility? He gave his all when given the opportunity. I have always liked him (especially his effort and willingness to get up and down) and without doubt (every Brentford fan would agree) that he was a top left back in league 1, so I see no reason why he could not proposer in the Championship, given a run in a side. I don't really understand why we have not let him go out on loan. Crawley/Yeovil must have offered a very low percentage of his wages otherwise surely it was in our interests. Mind you, they know we are not interested in keeping him so they perhaps offered a derisory figure which we were not willing to accept. I hope an agreement can be found as the current status quo is not good for any party. Could he have played yesterday as I don't see Seaborne as being good enough to play left back. Perhaps we were just giving him some fitness. Might be preferable to putting Dickson in the ship window.
  13. there is at least one nutjob on there
  14. what's this infighting within the PST all about or is it just Chinny bull****?

the songwriters missed a trick there
  16. we should do our utmost to win it. Lots of quality like Mayuka, Rodriguez, Chaplow and Cork need games. Even resting many should still leave us with a strong side, if totally untried and lacking in game time together.
  17. I hate fullbacks with no pace, but Butterfield never let us down when called upon and did a great job last season. Having said that I was amazed we offered him anew deal last February and still don't understand why considering how few games he had played by that point. Wish him all the best if he goes out on loan. I suspect he'll play tomorrow. Brum need a fullback badly due to two injuries, so he might go there.
  18. one win against one the biggest favourites for relegation still leaves us 30 odd points from survival. We feel like world beaters and my group were talking of top ten finishes, but had Benteke's header gone the other side of the post I just wonder what this forum would have been like. Some of the Villa fans' comments about us being amongst the worst sides in the league have been laughed out of town, but I wonder how far from the truth they are? I've enjoyed the winning feeling tremendously, but now time for me to be a little more pragmatic about our task ahead. We must keep that second half intensity and quality up as other sides won't be as accommodating as Villa, a very poor side indeed. Roll on Goodison.
  19. am I allowed to say that the above youtube clips don't impress me all that much? Hope he is Niemi-esq
  20. Don't think Red**** could have been more complimentary to both club and manager. He backed us in the summer to stay up saying very similar things to last night http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19270749
  21. do either still have the legs at 35?
  22. I didn't realise he was injured. Might explain the poor showing. I'm loathe to berate him. He's just short of pace and having been in that position I know how hard it can be to play at fullback without it. Seems strange that Dixon AND Harding discarded if Shaw is not yet ready. Still don't know why Butterfield got a new deal. Could have spent those wages elsewhere. We must have a good plan for the fullback area, but I struggle to see it. With Fox and Guly out of the side, Fonte proving the mugs on here that he can do it and now Davis replaced, I fear for Puncheon. This board demands a whipping boy!
  23. before the season I did wonder if there were three sides worse than us and then my Bluenose friend reeled off their squad list and made me feel a whole lot better. The right back looked OK, Ireland is tidy if given a luxury position and Bent, when on form (which he looks far from) is a threat. The rest, meh.
  24. He's a right back, not a left back, a wingback or a winger. When you move up the pitch you play with your back to goal a lot more and that's a totally different requirement. Why, when we unearth an absolute gem of a fullback do you always get people calling for them to play further up the field? Does anyone seriously think Ashley Cole would have been as successful as he has been if pushed forward to left wing? The only flaw in my argument is Bale, but I take him to be the exception to the rule. He's a good defender too, no matter what anyone says on here. Needs longer studs though.
  25. not huge amounts of marketing money swilling around at the moment either. Tickets are very expensive too, but club would argue they got prices spot on so far.
