  1. we continually used to get caught out like this in the Championship, but we seemed to have worked it out that two players need to go across if they are taking a short. Very strange that forgot all about this today, twice, right after each other. Crazy. I thought it might have been because Lallana had gone off but doesn't he usually stand on the half way line these days?
  2. Good display from us and it could easily have been more than 1-0. We dominated possession, draining the life out Reading and we also really got to grips with the middle of the park, something we failed on both occasions last season against them. Roberts was the usual thorn in our side, but we dealt with him pretty well. Apart from totally switching off at two corners we defended well. Going forward I thought Rodriguez radically changed our attack. He played on the shoulder of the last defender turning their defence round, pushing them back and providing space for the likes of Puncheon to do his stuff. Only Lallana's injury took the shine off a top top day. Davis 7 very little to do, but caught and punched a couple of crosses and just looked more confident than Gazza. Clyne 7 forging a decent partnership with Puncheon. They now seem to know each is going to do. A couple of errors that could have been very costly though. Get some longer studs. Fonte 8 strong display. Some ropey passes that Rodriguez turned into good ones Mayuka 7 I have criticised him a lot, but he was good today. He was mugged by Roberts on one occasion (but what defender hasn't been?). Some ropey passes forward like Fonte, but only one poor choice of pass (to Morgan who subsequently mis-controlled and we were in trouble) all day which is good. Shaw 9 composed on the ball, strong off it. What a talent. £4m? Not a chance. Hope we can keep him for a long long time. Lallana 6 didn't see enough of the ball. Worrying injury. Cork 9 Terrific right to the end. Morgan 6 quite a lot of poor passes from him. Not his best game by any means. Puncheon 8 another great performance. Just does not give the ball away and that's why we are controlling games. Having so many dribblers in the side really makes us a decent side with the ball. Lambert 7 I didn't notice him in the game too much if I am honest as my eye was taken by the Rodriguez runs, but he bullied Mariappa a fair bit Rodriguez 7 great movement and work rate. Didn't really look like scoring and that perhaps is the one criticism of him. His touch let his down on occasions and that worries me a tad, but he more than made up for that with some direct running Ramirez 7 I don't think he is a winger and certainly not a left midfielder, but he did a very good impression of one causing their right back loads of problems. Defensively he is not great though. Close to carving open several chances for himself, but just didn't quite run for him today. Guly did well. Neat and tidy and posed problems. Kept the ball well and helped us over the line.

they weren't as bad as fans were making out. The ref got a lot of decisions right, although I'm not sure about the disallowed goal
  4. 1. Moving to 4-4-2 and having left and right midfielders (helping the fullbacks) rather than left and right wingers (leaving us exposed) 2. Jack Cork playing out of his skin 3. Ramirez and Shaw back after injuries
  5. fair enough. We've improved the first team so he's a squad player now so you won't have to suffer as often. If he is playing it's because we need him, so just get behind him when that times comes and perhaps he'll make a crucial difference in a game that keeps us up. I am not sure why I am defending him. Drink drivers like him should be hung drawn and quartered in my book.
  6. and everyone is entitled to one, but with that comment my opinion is that yours is worthless when it comes to Guly. Davis apart, he was our best player that day, so you quite clearly so blinded by your hatred that it is effecting your judgement.
  7. but why boo the decision to bring him on? I don't rate Fox, you didn't see me booing the decision to bring him on a few weeks back.
  8. has he played the last 28 as a striker?
  9. worrying. We don't have any cover there at all IMO. I thought Ramirez did well, really driving hard at the fullback, but he's not a left midfielder and left Shaw exposed a few times.
  10. shows what complete and utter ****s they are then as he has done well when coming on this season.
  11. yes. That's my opinion. I'm not his biggest fan, he is very inconsistent, but this season he has done nothing wrong. I was impressed with his display at West Ham. He's had a few poor games for sure, but it's the bottled header at Fratton Park that seems to have sealed his fate in most fans minds. Even if he'd gone for it he'd of never got there. Try judging him on a game by game basis rather than prejudging him based on your preconceived opinion. Fans that boo him are idiots. Booing Puncheon didn't turn his performances round.
  12. agree with original post about lack of cover at left and right midfield.
  13. he's played well on every occasion he has played in the Premiership. He was very good at West Ham and in the short cameo's as sub he has been good. SO this concept of him being poor for as very long time is a complete and utter load of ********.
  14. `leaping to your feet'. Bloody hell, I assume you are exaggerating? As someone that was in that area of the ground I can assure others that in no way shape or form did a third of supporters leap to their feet in applause. Garner's goal was a corker, and there was appreciation amidst the usual frustration and anger, but do me a favour. I actually remember the goal vividly. Unfortunately my brother in law is a massive Forest fan, so it was particularly painful and I was reminded of it numerous times afterwards right up until we smashed them at their place last season.
  15. Sadly the latest edition of the well respected `When Saturday Comes - the half decent football magazine' perpetuates the myth that it will be the biggest fan owned club. The author James de Mellow (usually right on the money) explains that it was the `thousands of letters' from the skates to the football league that put an end to Chinny's bid to take over a third time.
  16. At last, now someone will tell us why SFC has take out a loan with a BVI-based company.
  17. To be fair the last game was a championship decider more or less. Huge huge game. The biggest game of the season. The game coming up is not as big. Shame we aren't selling out, but I'm afraid the bloody tickets are way overpriced for the more casual fan.

out of interest how has Cameron done?
  19. couldn't agree more. If you go down then its a buyers market. Lowe did very well to get £7m for Crouch when we were financially up **** creak without that money.
  20. Any chance that he might stay here for his whole career? He stuck by us previously when we were in the lower leagues and there were offers from the Premiership. If Turkish is right then a top 6 club won't come knocking, so is there any point in him moving if things are going well at Saints?
  21. personally I never understood the calls for a left back. If Arsenal are offering £4m for your 17 year old you know you have a talent on your hands and you need to provide a route to the first team. I've never rated Fox, but as cover I thought he'd do for now. Left and right midfield looked far more pressing to me, but then again I don't think there was a position on the park we couldn't strengthen, which is why we signed 2 keepers, 2 defenders, 2 midfielders and 2 strikers. However one of those midfielders turns out to be an attacker so the balance in that policy goes to pot a bit.
  22. PKF have chosen the PDT to sell the club to, why would PKF sell the ground to Chinny thereby putting PDT off from buying the club?
  23. he's certainly go the touch of a £12m player. Give him a bit more time and hopefully he'll show that he has the brain to go with it
  24. has many ****ign times. All the players were signed due to a committee so the list will be Committee Rodriguez Clyne Gazzaniga Mayuka Ramirez Yoshida Boruc Non Adkins
  25. very useful post indeed. So all that will be discussed is what is market value for the land, nothing more, nothing less.
