  1. The £7m spent after the play off season killed us. We should have been tightening our belts but like you say we gambled on high wage earners that turned out to be ****e. All signings are a gamble I suppose. Most have worked out so far, that's why we have gone up, but lets hope this summers gamble pays off.
  2. if you don't go to the game a defeat can actually be more painful than if you were there. If you are at the game you can at least find solace in the performance. Alpine doesn't have that hence it hurts even more. I may find that out today as despite having a ticket I'm stuck in bed with the flu. Grrrrr. Saints had better cheer me up.
  3. Who the hell knows? Since Nik Nak took the reigns all I've seen is massive spending on wages and now transfer fees using Markus' money. On the income side I've seen nothing but a lot of penny pinching without a care in the world about customer satisfaction and the effect that has on future income. Let's see how we look should worse come to worse and we are relegated and the family isn't there to clear another £20m of debts. Let's see how the customer relations comes home to roost in terms of attendances on the way down rather than on the way up. Remember, Cortese' experience is on advising billionaires on which sports clubs might be worth buying. He has ZERO experience running a healthy business, especially one with multiple customers and a sizeable workforce. I don't for a second think we don't have the funds to pay the builder for the redecoration, but if we go down then paying Ramirez/Lallana/etc premiership wages for the next three years concerns me greatly. Relegation kills teams. Have we gambled on survival like we did on promotion during the wilde years?
  4. is there any chance that these £1000s could end up being used to pay PKF fees?
  5. who gives a ****? I mean there are plenty of other companies queuing up for corporate boxes now we are in the big time, why do we need to pander to these small time builders? Oh..
  6. There might be a `they' in `they saved the club' but there certainly isn't a `their' in `their money saved the club'. Get it? No money from Cortese so stop posting statements like "they put their money where their mouths are". They were not a partnership. Cortese recommended the club to him. That was Cortese's job. He advised billionaires such as Markus on possible ventures. I thank him for spotting the value in our club. In fact I have no problem in Cortese being lauded for being instrumental in Markus coming here, but don't rewrite history. Cortese did not dip into his savings to save us any more than I did.
  7. They? There was no `they'. It was Markus' money only. Cortese has not put one penny in. My only `agenda' can be summed up right there.
  8. how did the surrounding land become part of this admin? I thought it was owned by CSI. Did the football club inherit it or Chinny?
  9. I couldn't barely hear the questions/answers in the press conference. What was said about the voting power of the PST shareholders.
  10. or in other words "we care about the football club, but we care more about obtaining nottarfkrap".
  11. Couldn't not wouldn't. Allen knows **** all. Luton Town lost 10 points for breaching regulations about paying agents from non club bank accounts, the question is have any FA regulations been breached by Jacobs et al? If they have then absolutely no reason why PFC2012 (or whatever guise they are going by this week) should be exempt from similar penalties. This is separate from failing to honour the first CVA and should be treated as such.
  12. don't tell me, let me guess, the PST are honouring the first CVA? No? Then there is no chance of this. None. The way things are going its more likely they will lose additional points especially if one or two Luton fans question the FL as to what the difference is.
  13. Hoillet looked pretty sharp the other day so that worries me too. I notice several 4-2-3-1 formations above. It needs to be a 4-4-1-1 like it was last week to protect these fullbacks.
  14. Is it just me that can't get that only fools and horses episode out of their heads where del tries to invent the turban motorcycle helmet out of a horse riding hats?
  15. It's a Lidl rather than an Aldi on Goldsmith Avenue. There is an ASDA half a mile away from **** park, a new Morrison's was built at the end of the M275 (close to the nearly refitted Sainsburys) and Waitrose has a store already in Southsea. Tesco is the only player without a large store on the island.
  16. I am hoping the was one or two deals that were close to conclusion in the last window but just could.not be done for whatever reason otherwise no one is going to sign a three year deal with a relegation clause in it now. Need to shift some out. our wage bill must be big.

    No Guly

I know this statement is pointless but i will say it anyway. guly was good at west ham and has done a decent job when coming on in his preferred position of centre mid in the last few games.
  18. Weston's posts seems logical to me whilst stuff like "Guly's contract says he MUST play for 15 minutes in every game" has been proven to be inaccurate. The other FACTs seem to be based on an Adkins quote saying he wanted one or two centre backs (he got one) giving rise to a conclusion that Adkins has no say in transfers. Oh and another Adkins quote saying all the teams must use the same formation to enable seamless transition. From that you conclude that Les Reed dictates the formation.
  19. you'll need to type this at least 150 times me thinks before it sinks in to some.
  20. There is no if. He does all those things apart from the transfers, which is based on a committee, which he is part of.
  21. he played centre forward for them though so why have you not referenced Lambert and Rodrigez rather than Puncheon?
  22. Everything I've seen suggests we have a real talent on our hands, but he's obviously down the pecking order. Hope he is settling in OK as not playing can't help that. He's still very young so I can see him becoming a huge fans favourite in years to come.
  23. Not IMO. It was 4-4-2 (or if you prefer 4-4-1-1) with Ramirez playing off Lambert. Lallana and Puncheon played as left and right midfielders not wingers.
  24. Mayuka is a striker not a right midfield. He can play as a winger as part of a 4-3-3, but I don't want to see him playing right midfield as part of a four.

    The Adkins way

Swansea did it themselves today, we caught them overplaying but didn't capitalise ourselves.
