  1. I agree with this. Not long before Christmas there was an article in a Scottish paper (no doubt arranged by agent) quoting Hopper as being really happy at Celtic and wanting to extend his contract. No contract offer turned up though and what do you know three weeks later Saints make a big, most likely based on advice from the agent saying the player was happy to join Saints and Celtic would be happy to do a deal. Celtic obviously are not happy to do a deal at the money we were told by the agent and here we are. This deal isn't going to happen. Well at least I don't think it will happen.
  2. new groundtastic for them though. Some clubs have been stuck in the respective divisions for yonks and it can become a little bit monotonousness.
  3. more lovely tippy tappy football on its way to SMS. Love these foreign, don't have a clue what they are really like transfers. Very good idea to borrow ****flaps youngsters, build a relationship with them and when they run out of patience waiting for a first team slot we can grab them on the cheap.
  4. agreed but they sold out Fratton last season, easily. 270 mile trip that.
  5. no special treatment, they just sell out pretty much everywhere and when given the opportunity to take a shed load of tickets they do. They took just under 5800 to Barnsley, and 4000 to Palace, P'boro, Derby and Donny. Last season they had 6000 at Cov. Very impressive away support.

    Adam Lallana

true. I suspect that's why he often is perceived as having had a good game even when he hasn't. Doing `out of this world stuff' tends to be remembered. His great asset is his ability to control the ball perfectly whilst in the run. Lots of players have a decent touch, but when already on the move it becomes a great skill and one that he has mastered. Very lucky to have him.
  7. can he? I'd love to see his attempt at the cross bar challenge. I doubt the ball would even reach. I was a massive fan of Fabrice Fernandes. At Fabrice's best Dyer couldn't lace his boots. IMO Dyer is over hyped. I haven't seen a huge improvement since he left. I'm not saying he is a bad player, he is after all extremely pacey and tricky, but calls for him to play for England are miles off the mark if you ask me. Are people thinking that small players are the way forward because of how well Spain have done with them? Because if they are they need to recognise the difference in quality and strength the likes of Silver have over Dyer. I don't feel any pride in him coming through our academy. He was a ****, shamed the club and I was glad we got rid as soon as. Good luck to Swansea though. Love how they play. Hope we continue to copy them.
  8. Dean Saunders interview after the game yesterday would suggest otherwise. I think he said something along the lines of `the fat lad from Sheffield hadn't agreed to go to either of the two clubs that had come in for him so he expected him to stay. Also Sharp had indicted that he would stay till the end of the season.'
  9. has Dyer gained the strength to kick the ball further than 20 yards yet?
  10. putting the brilliant Jos to one side, is Fox good enough for our team? As an aside, playing McGugan on the wing is not the way to do it. I think I could do a better job than the clot. Clueless.
  11. maybe, but Rangers now face court proceedings in relation to £49m worth of unpaid taxes and penalties. As we have seen with the skates football clubs have a way of getting away with these things but on face value the term toast comes to mind.
  12. agree with your description (I'm only going on the youtube highlights as I can't recall watching him against Scunny) but I don't see a premiership striker there. At that level you need to have at least one outstanding attribute to go with being a decent finisher, be that pace, tricks, strength etc. Mind you I would have said the same of Jon Walters and he has shined. £7m seems like far too much to be spending in the 2nd tier but promotion and some prem goals would change that statement.
  13. Just watched the highlights and I was wrong about the Jos block. It certainly was decent. The keeper should have done better with Morgan's goal and Claridge, who normally calls things right was totally wrong about the red card. It was clearly a red. Have to laugh at Clot trying to drag in some non existent foul prior to the red. Straw clutching at its best.
  14. on left hand side they spent the whole first half making people sit down. Tiresome. I know they need to show willing to meet ground safety rules but when the rest of the ground is standing it doesn't half annoy.
  15. is that some sort if desperate attempt to get the FL to allow them to bring one having let one go out despite the embargo? Perhaps they are going to try for the less than 20 players trick again.
  16. didn't they renegotiate his deal down in the summer to about £20k a week and no resigning on clause having reach x amount of games? That was what I was unreliably told by a skate some time back.
  17. can not see that at all. He is very committed to Palace, turning down Wolves a year ago and has a potential cup final to play in. In the summer maybe, if we have got promoted, but not in this window.
  18. cheers. I missed that or forgot. Great news.
  19. when he returns to fitness I am told that Barnard is going to be sent out on loan
  20. sorry, I meant West Ham not Leeds. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20110816/watford-0-4-west-ham-united-ft_2236884_2421663
  21. I just thought it was just brilliantly struck and keeper had no chance. It's been coming. The lad has a very good shot on him. Worried he has still not signed a new contract. He could play in the Prem now (perhaps that is the problem). Lets get the lad signed on a 5 year deal ASAP.
  22. yep that would be my guess too.
  23. the fire drill song was attempted on the left side
