  1. I'd be more than happy to see Patterson get another chance. Apart from the tackle he has looked a decent player and ready right now. Smith can do one.
  2. would they? Perhaps no one wanted to buy them and decided they would loan them until January and then see how the land lies.
  3. IMO we need a centre midfielder that can put a tackle or two in. Mehdi Nafti might be an option. How about Lauren from the skates. He has been ****e for them but this is a league apart. Glem little could fill the vacant right midfield slot.
  4. I'd of happily taken Djimi Traore off the skates hands for three months as Brum have just done. I'd opf stuck him alongside Seijs instead of Perry. Some extra height at the back would not go a miss.
  5. How quickly people forget that it was Skacel that wanted out last season to ensure his place in the national side for the Euros. Hamburg had an option on him to sign him on a perment deal but they didn't take it up. Skacel had no choice but to come back. Obviously in the summer Lowe wanted him off the wage bill and was more than happy to agree a fee with Ipswich. Ipswich didn't offer the right kind of wages so Skacel stayed. Its quite clearly a case of player wanting out and club happy for him to leave. All that has stopped this happening is the player wanting the same wage at any new club. Not sure why so many fans back this guy to the hilt. Is there a player in the squad less committed to the club I wonder? Mind you even with half an eye on a move he's still better than Holmes.
  6. yeah that Guthrie fella was rubbish.
  7. shows the folly of signing Molyneux - if Rudi is only going to be considered at left back - especially as we have no right back at the club.
  8. Heartly recommend following England at a tournement. Been to the last few and got tickets on ebay (overpriced of course) in advance for some and then at the games themselves from touts and locals. In contrast to the qualifiers where the away following tends to be inundated by `yoof' the tournements see so many England fans travel that the idiots are dilluted.
  9. swap `conned' for `raped and pilaged'.
  10. He gets Pennant in on loan then immediately plays him down the middle whilst keeping Nugent out wide. Thanks but no thanks. He's clueless.
  11. When are we playing Brum, if its any time soon we will win there, they are woeful, as bad as us. However, other than perhaps Watford and Charlton games I'm not sure I can see a victory elsewhere. Things can change quickly in football though so perhaps we'll not win away as well as not win at home...
  12. At the start of the season I said we would be relegated. Nothing has changed that opinion. With the squad we assembled we are exactly where I thought we'd be. I have to say some extremely decent football in the earlier part of the season raised my heart but the horrible defats at Coventry and at home to Watford and the recent late surrenders are all typical of relegated sides. With this crop of players no manager would keep us up. They are the worst I have ever seen in 25 years of going to games.
  13. he's right, the weather did effect the turn out, but midweek games have seen poor crowds for yonks now. He's also right that we were very quiet - the worst atmosphere ever at SMS in my opinion, but not surprising considering the terrible football on display. Gone are the days of passing entertaining stuff followed by niave defending and defeats. Now its hoof ball **** followed by defeat.
  14. not as many as when JP was appointed. As for Wotte's appointment, the fans knew he would take over so they had prepared themselves for that dissapointment. For the record, those that wanted us to pack in the nice pretty football and play a more combative direct `English' style you've got your wish - and boy is it bloody horrible to watch and just as ineffective so far.
  15. how so? Guthrie and Saga were the only loans we had that season. Crainie might have made the exact same mistake. Who knows. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Pele's performances helped get us intot he play off. One mistake once we got there should not wipe out the good work done prior. Its funny every man and dog was calling for youngsters to play when we had experienced pros struggling to get us promoted, now we have fans calling for experience because the youngsters were not ready. GB made lots of mistakes but when it came to blooding youngsters he appeared to get the timing just right. Mills and Cranie both will improve with age but both were not good enough in their final seasons with us to secure a first team slot. If they had been patient they would have become regulars but they moved for more money and thats football.
  16. Lallana. He is quite clearly not a wide player - never was never will be - should be played off the lead striker (in a 4-4-2) or in the hole (in our 4-3-3). Lallana has not played well since he came back from injury, but playing him out wide is pointless. He most effective when he is seeing the ball a lot. he is our most talented player but only in posession. Other players like Surman are far better makign runs when they don;t have the ball and they are the sort of players you want running up and down the line all day.
  17. I think the Saints fans have been extremely patient with the players and none of the young players other than McGoldrick have been given any stick at all from the Itchen. McLaggan was bloody awful on Tuesday and yet fans still seemed happy to clap him off the field when he was overduly subbed. I think that shows there are plenty out there more than willing to accept that the young players should get more leeway. I don't think any damage has been done to any of the young players by dropping them in at the deep end. Those that have failed now know they need to improve and not swan around in the reserves thinkig they are better than they are. As for me I gave Wotton a mouthful on Tuesday when he hoofed a ball into row z whilst being under no pressure at all. I think he'll survive though. I also gave McGoldrick an almightly ear bashing for not challenging for a header (perhaps wrongly as he may have been given offside if he had done so) - he'll get over it I'm sure. Far too much worrying about our `poor youngsters'. I am certain they are all absolutely delighted to be thrown to the lions early. As a young player all you ever want is the chance to play and the chance to show you can do it at a higher level.
  18. is there any reason whatsoever for having a membership? It was just another way of ripping off fans when the going was good. I am more interested in possible lifetime season tickets - you at least get something for your money. There is of course a major risk of the club going bust and losing your money, but that's the chance you take and would be reflected in the price.
  19. they didn't have 13k crowds on their way down though. Once you have lost fans it is very very difficult to get them back even at lower prices.
  20. name that price please.
  21. In other words 2/3's of our existing season ticket holders need to renew at £300 to avoid defaulting on the mortgage. It could be a very close run thing.
  22. Chez

    Watford

Is it possible to pay on the day?
  23. you are right there (doesn't mean Seijs is a poor player though) but Wotton is mostly to blame for that. In addition Wotte has clearly asked his fullbacks to play long down the line rather than short inside passes. In fact I would blame Wotte for the ugly style.
  24. Chez

    McLaggon

he was total garbage spending the entire time falling over, miscontrolling almost every single time and losing the ball time after time. I am amazed anyone would think otherwise.
  25. differently from you?
