  1. is it because once again we are forced to play the full 90 minutes plus additional time every week rather than the maximum of 60 that Skacel can offer? Seriously we kept him wrapped in cotton wool as we attempted to sell him. When the deal to Ipswich dissappeared he went into the reserves and promptly got injured. Once "fit" he will go back into the reserves to get his match fitness up and then he will have a chance of making the first team. Unless of course we loan him out should someone be interested.
  2. perhaps the bank says we can't afford to keep him
  3. I kept thinking of the Rooney situation where he coems too deep adn does too much work in areas not required. McGoldrick does the same only with far less work rate. Time after time he dropped off to recieve the ball and then failed to bust a gut to get into the box. John certainly takes up better positions but everything is back to goal. Perhaps thats what you need playing one up front but we need to turn defences once in a while and John is just too bone idol to make the type of runs. Why on earth did we bring John on only for McGoldrick to drop into centre midfield. Pointless and clueless move by Jan.

    Killer!

Our big pitch is not helping Killer. He will come into his own when the pitches get muddy and passing football becomes a little tougher. He was terrible yesterday but not the time to right him off.
  5. funnily enough I thought it had been widened. I thought Pearson had it reduced last season and now we have increased it.
  6. year on year the side has less quality and over the course of the season that usually means less points. I don't rate Cardiff, Brum were simply terrible by their own standards in the first 30 minutes of the league game, Derby are suffering terribly and Blackpool are a very average side that nearly put 5 past us. Its early days but I sstill think we will do well to survive this year.
  7. tremendous news. He looks a great player to me.
  8. I raved about Marsden long before he ever signed for Saints. I struggle to find anyone singing Pulis jr's praises. I welcome him to the club and hope he can blossom here. No idea why we signed another midfielder though.
  9. Ask me nicely and I'll allow the deal to go through.

upper tier offers zero leg room, and some views are restricted. We are not talking about pillars in the way restricted, its just that you are so close that you can't actually see the corner flags at yoru end...its difficult to explain, all about angles and poor design. Anyho its not that bad a view but £30 is a rip off.
  11. do you think there is still time to bring out an orange third (or is it 4th) kit?
  12. I predicted relegation and will be more than happy to eat humble pie if we have a great season. I simply can't wait for Saturday's game - the first time I have felt like that for ages. Can I point out that after the Sheff United away win last season I had exactly the same feeling to that after the Derby game - very upbeat and confident of the season ahead. We all know how the season went in the end though. I know things are going very well right now and long may it continue, but in the league we have actually lost 2 games and won 1. Its a long old season...

I said several weeks ago we should have paid the £4k a week drop in wages he would have taken going to Ipswich. The £1m transfer fee would have made a sizeable dent in our overdraft and the savings in interest payments would go towards that £4k a week.

"Meanwhile, Magilton has also confirmed that Town’s move for Southampton’s Czech international Rudi Skácel is now dead. A £1 million fee had been agreed with the Saints and Skácel had even had a medical with the Blues, but it appears the 29-year-old is looking for top division football to enhance his chances of playing international football." http://www.clubfanzine.com/ipswich_town/v2.showNews.php?id=12534 I didn't realise that was why he didn't join them.

No one knows if he has an appearance fee as part of his contract or if he does have one how high it is. I'd of thought there was little chance of getting him to reduce his wages.

Why is it 4pm on the Sunday? Is the game on the TV? If so isn't that the usual slot for Prem games?
  18. can anyone tell me what the final result was for the vote for/against goal celebration music? When I voted it was about 65% against having the tacky load of rubbish, and as there has been no announcement on the OS as to a `winning tune', perhaps mabe just maybe they have listened to the fans and scrapped the whole concept?
  19. Bring back Wednesday night fixtures....

if the transfer window closes I assume he can be loaned out afterwards?
  21. I can't be bothered to waste my time on here arguing about the pace of Hleb. Lets take another wide player such as Krankjar. Next to no pace yet a class act in the Prem. Pace aint everything if you have genuine ability on the ball. IMO Surman is a geniune asset and should not be allowed to leave for peanuts. £2.5m is not enough.
  22. you can add four substitute appearances to the two league cup starts. maybe like every club they have watched him in the reserves as well and followed his progress when out on loan? I hope he proves me wrong but my expectations a bloody low. Why do we need him anyway?
  23. first of all you need to look again as Holmes has no pace, none at all. He looks average to me. As for Surman he can play wide or in the middle. Who says he has to have pace, quality is what is needed? I don't agree with this theory that Surman doesn't tackle, but even if he is a poor tackler that doesn't mean he can't play in the middle. Hleb was one of Arsenal's player of the seaon and he has neither pace nor great tackling ability yet he placed all across their midfield. Surman has a great first touch, is willing to ribble, is happy to receive the ball in all areas and has the ability to beat a man. I appreciate he is not world class, but in this league he is a quality player. If you have are willing to have a little patience Surman he will reward you. We are running out of players we can back at the club...
  24. in your opinion. Other people including myself rate him. Still if you are happy with Holmes that's up to you.
  25. we signed Forecast. How many more do we need? Actually scrub my comment about needin a right back as Cork can fill that role apparently. A striker would be good.
