I am not doubting that happened - its obvious it did, I just can't get my head round why we would be such dicks. Why not say "Rudi we are fooked so we really need to sell you if we can. Its nothing personel we just can't afford you. Until we find a buyer we very much wouod like you to play."

with all those players gone will that free up sufficient funds to get the quality young players we need? Mind you will we spend it wisely...I doubt it.
