Not quite. He's not for sale and he's on a long contract so he can be worth what we say he is worth. For now.

There's only one thing worse than taking Soggy to task about things I disagree with him about, and that's taking him to task in things I do agree with him about. Not sure how he has to make everything an embarrassment. Give up, man. Not every vote counts on PR, but a heck of a lot more do count. It's a fairer, more representative system which gives a better voice to more voters and would likely improve engagement. Proportional systems are already in use in the UK and good thing too. Not sure what this particular debate is achieving though.

Massive boost to their shirt sales in Zambia. Another missed opportunity 😪

It's not about how good he is compared to Grealish its more to do with the length of his contract. £20m would buy you an upcoming midfielder who's had one stand out season in the Championship or the French League. It would get you something like Hojbjerg at the point we got him 5 years ago. Saints are not going to sell JWP for less than £40m but I agree as above that we'd push for £50m. JWP is as close as you'd get to a risk-free signing for a club like Villa (or Everton etc) plus he's English and so on. At the end of the day my belief is he's worth too much to us than any club would be prepared to pay. A bit like Ings last year - his contract was too long for anyone to splash out £50m for him.

So this kid would be the back up to KWP and our first signing of the summer Perraud? So he's not going to a regular starter if he comes down, relying on injuries to KWP and Perraud. Which is likely because we do work our full backs hard. But still seems a bit weird, especially for this kid supposedly moving to get game time. Will be interesting to see how he does as we have been chasing him for so long.

I absolutely guarantee that CollinsDic will not read this and will tell you it's nonsense and keep covering his eyes.
-
The story that came out today is not a one suggesting we are still negotiating with him. There's clearly some closure within the story - he is not signing an extension this summer. That's it. That's why the story is out there. David Ornstein is not some mug. Honestly if you are still working under the assumption that "i don't see any reason why he wouldn’t sign a new contract" then you are going to be disappointed. Everything else is up for grabs = who he goes to, how much they pay and when it happens. I find it highly unlikely that we'd let him run his contract down.
-
The challenge is to get him sold on our terms and our timeframe. He's basically the back up signing for Spurs or Arsenal or whoever needs a panic buy at the end of August. Whatever higher level hes thinking of, he's not their main focus. He's no one's priority signing. So, If we can't get in a position to sign his replacement before he goes then it will (at best) wreck our pre season prep or (at worst) leave us lumbered with Obafemi and Adams until January.

This is as much a lie as "the government are stopping me seeing my Mum" but carry on. You be you.

Armstrong would truly be a really clever purchase and a very worthy second signing of the summer after Perraud.

Anyone going to the trouble of thinking this or posting this is, without question, a thick cunt.

It's nice to get an admission on this forum from the supporters of FPTP that in that system every vote doesn't count.

It's good we are playing a Denmark team who have actually beaten us at Wembley in a competitive match not so long ago. Excellent to counteract any complacency.

Fantastic to see Maguire score from a set piece last night. Isn't it fascinating that there are other players who can take free kicks and corners? And also what a set piece goal from Jordan Henderson. Of course some forum genius had recommended Henderson should be watching this game, at home, on his big TV. Kinda good news that he wasn't doing that, I'm sure everyone would agree. Well done Gareth on making the right choices for the right reasons at the right time.

There's a level of calm control - in squad selection, in team selection, in game management - that has never happened under any England manager in my lifetime. There is an eerie pragmatic efficiency that is quite frankly not normal for England. We won easily yesterday without the talisman/poster boy/great hope even stepping onto the pitch. I guess the only thing we haven't faced is adversity yet, but that's because we haven't conceded a single flipping goal. So why would we. It's another world.
-
Nice fact: All four semi-finalists played all their three group matches at home.
-
Sounds like no. This is first time anyone has gone five matches without conceding. Maybe someone did it when the tournament was smaller/shorter but screw them.
-
To get to the semis without conceding a single goal is absolutely unreal.
-
Thank you and goodnight. Great goal from Jordan Henderson, from a corner.
-
Anyone else singing "thats what I say, I say yeah yeah" at various points in the commentary? #eighties #jazzpop
-
I see Jordan Henderson still not fit then.
-
He should have been at home watching this match on the TV.
-
So Saints did a piece in their website and Theo did a load of quotes and it was announced to the media but in all that time Theo Walcott did not sign any agreement whatsoever? Is that what you are saying?
-
Maguire still not fit I see.

Jesus wept.
