Speaking personally, I was incredibly disappointed that when Perraud signed and he did his quotes for the Saints website he didn't spend most of the time talking about how brilliant the fans at Brest were and what a great club he had just left and expressing gratitude for the time he spent there. Hopefully this will be rectified for future signings.

Probably for the best. I think it had run its course. Now, on to business. Can everyone email their sort code and A/C numbers to cedric-barabas.fry@wannadoo.net I'll sort you out for a grand each. First ten responses, mind. I'm not mental.

Exactly - would be so horrendously over priced for what he is. And to be honest i think he'd also then struggle with going into a club as a £40m man or whatever. I cannot think he would go anywhere this window - worth far too much to us compared to what any sensible club would pay.
-
Not sure signing a 26 year old from the Bundesliga, with some experience in the Premier League is really "scouting" to be honest. But I agree it doesn't feel like a particularly adequate replacement. Palace fans will probably have a good old laugh if we signed this guy and they get Armstrong.

Exactly, not sure if was worth posting up.

I'm really nervous about dying here. I'm so scared. Why can't you see it in your heart to help us?
-
Where is this? Not seen it.

100% agree and this is where Villa have done great - they've put themselves on the front foot by getting some big signings in before the ink was dry on Grealish. It would be nice if we could do that kind of thing once in a while.

I think exactly this - Villa need the PR win post-Grealish, we've got more money than expected. I think the club telling Ings "we've sold you, my son" has changed the dynamic somewhat. That's where the bad feeling has come from. We've bundled him off. I think Ings and his people probably thought they were in control. Maybe not. On the balance of things, our club have got more of what they wanted than Danny Ings has got what he wanted. The issue we have now is replacement. Us doing well this season will be pretty much decided by getting that bit right. Not entirely convinced we will but let's see. -
Exactly- people are so desperate to moan about the fact he gone to Villa that they're missing the fact that we have looked after ourselves first and foremost - our priorities were 1) get him to sign 2) if he doesn't sign maximise our return and sell quickly 3) absolutely not let him go into his final year un-signed While its probable that Tottenham or some other big club would have been more likely to try and nick him on Aug 31, and that Ings would probably prefer that, that wasn't our objective - once we accepted the Villa offer Danny's game was up. People are moaning now, but it's as sure as shit they'd be moaning a heck of a lot more if he was driving up to Spurs on the last day of August for £20m. If anyone really thinks that Danny Ings has got the move he was dreaming of, then good luck to you. Personally I think we've done just as well out of this situation as the player. Good luck in the Champions League, big shot.

I can see why you would object to people with a negative attitude.

What performances were happening "a few weeks back"? Beach football? Fuck knows why people are pretending that Danny Ings leaving this summer is some great big shock, especially when it is exactly the same people going on and on about what a shit club with no ambition we are.
-
If that goes through there's a guy on Twitter whose ITK credentials are going through the roof - called Ings and this one on the same day. Could still be a lucky bullshitter but quite a strong days work.
-
WHU don't have a great track record in taking Centre Backs from us if we think of Man United-bound Jose Fonte (very much the Ings of his day) and poor old Richard Hall. Vestergaard going for decent money i am incredibly comfortable about, if it allows us to roll the dice on a replacement. People pissing their pants about departures from a defence that were ropey as fuck last year I really don't understand.

Sorry I forgot to mention earlier but big thanks to Weston: me and him had a little side-bet on the date Danny Ings transfer would be announced- absolutely delighted i won that and quick as a flash he transferred me the £750 into my lawyers account this morning. Great service mate, cheers - good luck in our £950 bet we've got going on the first goal time for Saturday's preseason friendly. My lawyer is ready to go just in case - fingers crossed 🤞

He's getting squad number 47 at Villa apparently, just after a couple of highly rated academy lads. -
Leicester looking mighty silly now they've announced a stadium expansion. In the next year or so the population of Leicester is going to shrink from 357k to 250k so I reckon they might struggle to fill it by the time they've finished it. Especially with all those funerals on Saturdays too.

You're the one using that quote as evidence that the club definitively said we were going to let him run his contract down.
-
Exactly. You have to be as thick as pigshit to think that we ever said that he was definitely staying to the end of contract. Pretty obvious we wouldn't let that happen.
-
Why do you need someone to give you a thousand pounds for you to explain why the British government is working on a plan to kill 16m people in the next year or so? Its almost like you want us all to die.

So its not a trend, but in your suicidal world the trend is just about to start as of now so it is a trend. Clear. Why do I think to wouldn't be difficult to find a post from you saying how shit Bertrand is (or even Koeman, or even Ings). -
Like I say, funnily enough they're not you.
-
Why would that piss players off? Funnily enough they're not you.

Us selling a player that everyone knew we were going to sell must have come like a bolt out of the blue, it really must have shocked them to the core.
