At least 80. At very least. And then move him to the role of honourary life president. My only wish would be he is still about at 90 to see the unveiling of his statue. I'd make it different because Les is a different kind of Saints legend to Ted Bates . I'd put him on a plinth with small figures of the key players of the Les era all around him, listening at his feet. Les era players like Fonte, Lambert, Morgan, Lallana, Billy Sharp, Tadic, Pelle, Virgil. The kind of players when you say their name you immediately think "thanks, Les".
  2. Look at his little happy face.
  3. The machinery industry is not the construction industry. That's not "semantics", they are different sectors. If its the same why don't JCB have loads of real estate projects on the go? Or the Black and Decker corporation? After all, its all the same innit.
  4. Pellegrino is as good as Diego Simeone now? Bold statement. Just for context Simeone won the Europa League in his first season at Atletico. In his most recent La Liga season Pellegrino trundled to ninth place scoring barely any goals. But you go girl, Pellegrino is the next Simeone.
  5. I thought Markus and, by extension, Katharina have nothing to do with the running of the Liebherr corporation? And even if they did, their core business is not construction, it's construction machinery. Liebherr don't build urban developments. And even if we accept a) Katharina suddenly being involved in Liebherr group and b) Liebherr group suddenly become real estate constructors then it still doesn't explain why she sold to the Chinese to do their own construction. And, let's put aside the usual counter argument about why anyone needs to buy a football club to develop brownfield sites in a city when they could just buy the brownfield site on its own and get on with it. I'm starting to think Ultimatt doesn't know what he's on about.
  6. He won't leave mid-season but it's hardly deluded to expect a Celtic manager to come here. In recent history we'd be the highest ranked club an ex-Celtic manager has moved to in years. Highest ranked by a mile. 2nd tier Middlesbrough (twice), Bolton and some Finland nobodies in the last decade or so. But yeah. So deluded. Wow.
  7. Except in the seasons following that we finished 7th and then 6th, qualifying for Europe two seasons in a row, and then Wembley cup final and 8th yet again the season after? I know you Cortese Cultists hate it bit it happened and it was so, so good. Strength to strength. Cortese's highest league finish, ever? 14th.
  8. The idea that a new director of football would come in and not start looking to replace the first team manager within a very short timeframe is laughable. It goes on like this Reed will sack Pellegrino. If it goes on like this and Gao sacks Reed, his replacement will sack Pellegrino.
  9. Pellegrino has two coaches hand picked by him to support him. Adkins brought in Crosby, Pards brought in Wally Downes, Poch has Perez, Koeman brought in his brother, Puel brought in Planque, Strachan brought in Pendry. Basically at Saints the opportunity is there to bring in your own people to support, within a reasonable framework. So if he doesn't have someone he trusts to give him the advise he needs then I'd say that was entirely his fault and yet another fu ck up in a management tenure strewn with fu ck ups.

Les Reed only responsible for the bad things that happen. Surely you know that now?

    Claude Puel

I agree with you. Puel has made a cracking start at Leicester because he is a very good manager with a good track record who did a fine job in his first Premier League season. Hodgson has always done well at a certain level, he's back there again and doing well again. Ditto Big Sam. Pellegrino is fu cking sh it and it's as plain as the nose on your face he won't work out here. The 25-35 game thing is just a typical load of Toffeeman Heisenberg bo ll ocks.

    Claude Puel

I think we need to wait for Hodgson to manage Palace for 25-35 games before we can assess whether he is any good or not.
  13. Chopping and changing really not working out for Palace, West Ham, Leicester and Everton then. Its going to be brilliant when Pellegrino proves himself to be the next Alex Ferguson in 2020. Them other fans will be so jealous.
  14. What about being two nil down before anyone was sent off? Saint Marco indeed.
  15. He's just a random team generator. Fingers crossed there's enough players there with something to prove to squeeze out a point.
  16. They don't respect democracy so deserve to die innit.
  17. I wish the club was actually run for the real fans and actually gave the real fans what real fans want which I believe is a full range of club history books stocked in both club shops at all times.
  18. Er, I just used a couple of random examples that sprung to mind. Pretty sure I could easily come up with 100 players, managers, assistant managers from my time supporting Saints (from about 1987) that if there was the social media we have now would be getting slated. You've singled out Steven Davis who basically only gets slagged off by one contributor - if we had forums in 1989 you'd find similar level of grief from someone against Matt Le Tiss or Shearer, there would have been one nutter.
  19. Paul Jones got plenty of stick early on for not being Maik Taylor who people thought didn't need replacing. And he was a Welsh international who tried hard and everything. Glen Cockeril was called captain cr* p by a proportion of the Milton end when I was a lad. Probably because he was a lazy foreigner. I do wonder what life was like in Sergei's completely made up past life when cheering old fashioned supporters did nothing but praise our hard working honest lads.

    Claude Puel

I think everybody should stop judging Puel until he has been in charge for 25-35 games. That's the official number of games Puel have to be in place for before anyone can judge Claude Puel. That's the rule and everyone should stick to that for all managers named Claude Puel. See you in 25-35 games.
  21. Loads of good managers would. Why wouldn't they?
  22. Correct. Fans (thick, entitled or otherwise) don't appoint replacements either.
  23. I blame our intelligent and appreciative fans myself. Effing useless.
  24. I don't think we will sack him yet. It will drag on and on. He'll have to lose four or five in a row, ie get to the point where he is crying out to be sacked, before they'll even think about it. The club will not admit it has made a mistake, plus they will clearly will have no idea who to replace him with. In a way there is logic there - appointing someone now is going to be fraught with compromise so they will do anything they can to avoid it.
