Someone's been in the Nutella jar.

It's a new record for the earliest sighting of the inevitable Alpine "it's easy to say in hindsight" routine.

Shane Long is starting so that means goals goals goals.

Sammy was a superb appointment by Les Reed.

Everton are, like, so brilliant aren't they? They're really brilliant. #belovedtoffees #glagowkissofdeath

The Glasgow kiss of death. Norwich and Rick V-W tearing up the league = FAIL Stoke, will always be a higher level than us = FAIL Palace win the transfer window = FAIL He's still fighting the good fight with his beloved Toffees and is a role model in not being one of those knee jerk merchants. He will always give mangers of Everton time to bed into the role and not make a judgement until maybe 150 games in. He can't possibly FAIL again, surely?
-
To be honest, I was taking the pi ss, but thanks anyway.

Do a ****POSITIVES**** thread about your beloved Toffees to cheer yourself up.

"So despite all the talk, Moshiri has done F all so far..." No ambition.

Just jumped on a random page on the Atalanta match thread: "At what stage are we officially allowed to start bed wetting" In fairness Koeman always decent against the big boys so could get a result on Sunday. Rooney v Lukaku in the not-celebrating-a-goal face off.

Nah, Cortese did it all. He admits not understanding football before he appointed Pardew but within days after appointing Pardew he immediately became a football expert and personally scouted and signed Dean Hammond and Rickie Lambert and Cortese's historic links with Crystal Palace give him a real head start on personally signing Jose Fonte.
-
Thanks for replying to my post about him appointing Alan Pardew and Pardew signing those players, not an Italian banker. Well done on trimming my post to remove that bit as well - a true craftsman. Cortese "developed his philosophy" later, very obviously influenced by the football people at the club. ie Sir Les.
-
Everton in their last 5 games across all competitions: DDLLL Without a goal for 314 minutes.
-
In the TalkSport interview the Italian said he knew little about football and recruited Pardew because he was an available good candidate - he had no particular vision at point. Therefore it is pretty easy to surmise that the signing of top drawer lower league proven performers - Lambert, Fonte, Hammond - was jack sh it to do with an Italian lawyer. His football "vision" came later. I wonder, really really wonder, who was the single biggest influence on that....?

In some people's dream scenarios, we would never ever have sold him and he be our front line central defender leading us to the Champions League.

The "track record" of NC is eighth in the Premier League. The "relative track record" of the current board is better than this three times over - 7th, 6th, 8th and a cup final. What's NC's "track record" since then? If I was appointing someone to lead a club into the top six then all I can see from his CV is a man with no experience of doing this at any professional football club anywhere. Thats called a "level headed" look at things, also known as simple facts.
-
This coming from the man that argued that Cortese's all-red kit could not be dismissed as not traditional because all traditions had to start somewhere and we might wear that strip for the next twenty years.

The Spurs one is good, and I think the new Palace badge is excellent. A decent new badge can be done, but I'm not really that fussed if we don't change it.
-
Not really. Changing it actually removes it from the fans and becomes a much more ownable property for the club to control, that's why Arsenal and Chelsea and Everton (I wish we were Everton) have done it. The Juve one just makes it look like a logo for a smartphone app, which I have no doubt was in the design agency's presentation when they suggested it and I am sure they were all high fiving themselves at how "iconic" it all is. If that's genuinely what fans want us to follow then I'm out. Up there with let's get an all red kit for China.
-
If we lose on Saturday I'll get the ball rolling and start a thread about which Championship grounds people are looking forward to visiting.
-
Thank God Les was brave enough to face Cortese down and stop the Italian flogging off Lambert and Morgan too cheap, too soon.
-
He's thrown a kettle over a pub. What have you done?

I've listened to a bit of it. I think what was not made clear earlier was just how Jim White was feeding him the lines - literally "tell us about the time you sold Alex O-C but only to fund the training ground". And Jim White swooning over him like David Brent round Finchy. Blimey, Jim has just said "We are in the presence of greatness here today". Absolutely cringeworthy.
