He looked like a one season wonder in Spain whose one season of wonder wasn't even that good, and was as spectacularly goal-shy as the guy we'd just sacked. They are the facts as they were known, replace one low scoring manager with another low scoring manager. No revisionism, no hindsight, plenty could see it and were worried. It was similar to Pochettino who also came with a fairly ordinary record but nothing in Pellegrino's career suggested he would be a success. It was hope far more than expectation that we'd found Poch mark 2. Pellegrino is fu cking sh it.

I must have missed all those other "stewards" of the club who took us to "nearly Champions League football". Can you name them please?
-
Yeah, he won't just get that in one go, if he even gets anything near that.
-
It think it was strange that you don't know he has two of his own backroom staff at the club that I would definitely describe as "his own assistants" and shows that perhaps he does know anyone. Perhaps you are so inexperienced at retaining simple information. Possible that all candidates got told they could have two hand picked assistants and that's what he got because he has two hand picked assistants.

Poll this week has Theresa May ahead of Steptoe on "who would make the best Prime Minister" 34% v 31%. Just think about that. And Tories polling under 2 percentage points behind Labour 41.4% v 39.9%. They should be out of sight against this government but they're neck and neck. Vive le effing revolution.

I'd like to see him tested at a different level before we give him a high profile role at Saints. A couple of seasons at Garforth Town for example.

Loads worse. Pellegrino is fu cking sh it.

Who on this forum has ever said they are independent then? Or are you just, as usual, making a tiresome counterpoint to something no one has ever, ever said? -
After two seasons of managing Celtic he will have achieved that career goal. Being manager of Celtic for season after season after season is not a career goal for any self respecting manager. The previous managers of Celtic haven't used it as a stepping stone because Scottish football is rubbish which is why they've rocked up at Middlesbrough and Bolton. Not entirely sure what club of prestige you think will be Brendan Rodgers next step but I reckon it will be someone like us or Stoke or Newcastle, with the only wildcard being him going to a Moyes-style middling Spanish club to "stretch himself".

The Scots voted in favour of devolution in a referendum. That's just a simple fact. -
I'd be amazed if he stuck it out beyond the summer, two seasons and he'll have done everything there is to do up there. It's not about him coming to us, its just the dead end that is Scottish football. Do you seriously think he's going to spend the rest of his career up there?

Previous recent Celtic managers have subsequently moved to such European giants as second tier Bolton, second tier Middlesbrough and some Norwegian no-mark outfit. Martin O Neil went to Villa but mainly because he was already proven excellent manager in the Premier League (ie he could have got a job like that before he went to Celtic). The idea that we couldn't get Rodgers here is utterly laughable. His next job will be us or somewhere like us - Leicester/Newcastle/Stoke/etc. The only thing I think unlikely is him walking out mid-season. But the idea that people don't leave European mega club Celtic to come to us is moronic considering the number of players recently who have done precisely that.

To be honest now is not the time to talk about footballing style. That's a secondary matter at this juncture. They should be talking about results.

Agree completely - last season was significantly above average, we pis sed over 11th so well done Les Reed, Claude and Eric Black for delivering a very good season all in all, lots of which I enjoyed thoroughly. Great stuff. As this forum's happy, optimistic ray of sunshine I'm sure you enjoyed it too. From now on I'll make sure I'm more like you and definitely not pis sing and moaning like a whining bit ch about every single thing the club ever does. Teach me how you do that. Please teach me.

Good old days being a handful of seasons in our entire history.
-
Bob Bradley was given a chance in the Premier League.
-
It's utterly disgraceful we haven't had the stability that the likes of Huddersfield have had in the Premier League. Les Reed OUT.
-
Voted six and slated the rest. They've made it pretty laborious to get through the voting so will take some serious nutjobbery to swing it in our favour.

If we'd been at a losing league cup final during the Cortese era it would be still talked about on here like the greatest achievement in sporting history, just slightly below Jesse Owens in Munich.

Shared a few PMs around the time of the Paul Allen saga (the official golden age of the forum), seemed genuinely nice guy and always came across well. To go at 46 is heartbreaking. RIP.

We were never going to get Emery then, and we won't get him now.
-
We have been a bit of a bogey team for them recently but it feels like we may get massacred. Which may well sharpen some resolve in the boardroom.

When have we started to "rework" that "method" then? We didn't sell anyone in the summer and have double-digit million pound players in every area of the pitch and on the bench. Our attack might be sh ite but they don't represent the "minimum outlay" on any measure, anywhere. Fu cking drips on this forum.
