  1. Five years ago this month we were in the bottom half and sacked a manager just before a TV game. Five years on the fanbase are once again furious about Mauricio P but the circumstances are all rather different. If he hasn't gone by then then absolutely a visible protest at the Spurs game is correct - fanbase have to humiliate the board into action.
  2. Certainly not horrified because yeah fine it shows sensible, normal planning behaviour in the circumstances etc etc. But if prefer to hear rumours that we are trying to do whatever it takes to stay up, it's a shame we aren't hearing about meetings like that. Meetings about sacking the manager or meetings about a signing to excite people, Theo or someone else. Meeting about what course correction we need to action to not go down. If we have already shifted into preservation/conservation mode and the types of behaviour that drives then yes we've fuc king had it. Nigel Quashie me right up.
  3. ****S SAKE
  4. Please please please please can you just win.
  5. What we don't want to do now is concede.
  6. Where has he proven himself to be a proven goalscorer? For pretty much his entire career he makes Shane Long look like Dixie Dean.
  7. That not a job that is going to pay that well. Seems spectacularly unlikely he would come back to us but stranger things have happened. However I think he's got Stoke written all over him. Much like Brendan Rodgers, that's about his kind of level.
  8. It's not just SFC that have solid gold ITK on social media. Look at this utter clown cramming into a single tweet that Rowett is simultaneously going to Stoke and staying at Derby. The full told you so cake-and-eat-it routine. Our AR-10, choccybox and that other one would be well proud. https://twitter.com/macgregor7275/status/950646138306166784
  9. You're wasting your time. The "we've been ripped off" brigade will come out regardless of the size of any fee we ever get. Ever. World record for a defender and we could have got loads more. Loads. More.
  10. Pellegrino is the Theresa May of football. Pretty much everything he touches is hopeless. He has no idea what team he really wants. Other people could do the job better if given the chance. And we're heading for a big exit.
  11. Jesus wept.
  12. Because most cup draws are boring and people will say it's boring when it is. And this is a horrifically boring draw.
  13. Notts County or Nottingham Forest away.
  14. What if you've been told the fact that we have spoken to a manager to catch a leak?! Or are we disappearing doen the rabbit hole now?
  15. Championship winners, then 16th Prem, now looking like 8th - how upward do you want to go? You're not wobbling on your theory are you, because it is, like so brilliantly repeatable across lots of clubs, right?
  16. There's plenty of life left in that routine. Personal favourite Glasgow theory right now is the "momentum curve" because it is absolute solid gold. Recently started working with a Burnley fan and let me tell you he is over the moon once I'd explained the Heisenberg principle to him. Burnley now locked into top eight finishes well into 2020 regardless of managerial/player changes because, like, momentum. Made up he was. Completely made up.
  17. Oh dear.
  18. Griffit not as brilliantly cryptic as we have him credit for. Not from Nice, not French. He does keep retweeting Balotelli references though...
  19. So your recommendation is for SFC to not make consecutive bad decisions? Good idea. Write them a letter.
  20. Pochettino, Strachan, Koeman, Alan Ball for us and countless other successful managers everywhere have also been "sacked failures". Mark Hughes will look at his managerial career and conclude it certainly hasn't been a failure. And in answer to your question - loads of people could be better than Pellegrino who is appalling.
  21. Bit harsh. Has taken three clubs into the top 8 of the Premier League, took Blackburn to sixth and Stoke to 9th three times, earning that patience. Probably outstayed his welcome there. Plus very good job at Wales. He's failed at one club, QPR.
  22. Wales, Blackburn, Fulham, Stoke before this season, didn't do that bad at a rapidly changing Man City. Only QPR was an all out failure.
  23. Stephens/Yoshi I thought did more than okay for half a season, and to be honest I'd like to see Stephens get another half season. I know people do like to simultaneously complain that a) we don't invest in replacements because we are cheapskates and b) what's happened to our young players coming through its a disgrace so obviously as a solution that would never do. It won't surprise me if we don't sign a CB but then I didn't see Hoedt coming so you never know.
  24. I know Forest and Derby fans (and Leicester, back in their L1 days) from living and working here for years. Sure they go into every season hoping to go up but it's hardly like they're all suicidal, they support their team and get on with it. Still plenty of fans at the ground, hope, loyalty and passion. Funnily enough discussed DCFC with my barber only this morning, they're having a great season and good luck to em, they might go up, they might not. Next boxing day They'll still pack out Pride Park as a Championship team regardless of division. Life goes on. At the end of the day we've finished 8th, 7th, 6th and 8th again and people have pi ssed and moaned throughout, we're having a rocky patch now and people still pi ssing and moaning (we're still above Forest and Ipswich and Bradford like you want us to be) so let's assume people pi ss and moan whatever. If you think life outside the PL can't "somehow be fun", I've seen plenty of evidence that people haven't found any fun in this division either, just self entitled misery about what we haven't done, and zero joy in what we have done. I've not forgotten the Championship, happy to conclude it won't be any less fun than bobbing about mid table Prem. I don't want us to drop but if we do it's hardly the end of the world.
  25. Correct. Redmond's level.
