One of the Martinettes on here (can't remember which one) absolutely adamant that Martin is better than Mark Hughes. Nope. Not on any level, not on any metric, not on any planet. Even Mark Hughes at his shittest (which was with us) he is better than Russell Martin.
-
With every passing game we've improved and improved and learnt and grown and improved and improved that in my mind there's no doubt now that we have everything in place to lose two or three nil.
-
Thanks for confirming that in your mind nothing will ever ever be Russell Martin's fault.
-
Only for you to spend the following season saying all the players are terrible and it's not Russell Martin's fault we're going down again. Triffic.
-
The new man will not keep us up, we are down. Russell Martin has ensured that before December even started. Quite the feat. If you think that preparing for next season is "crap" then thats yet another reason to get rid of Martin. Useless this season, him preparing for next season is "crap" so get rid. Next season we worry about another time. Glad we agree.

I know you can't even process the concept but maybe Russell Martin's replacement is, you know, better? Russell Martin is easily one of the worst Premier League managers of all time. So even if his replacement is utterly shit, he will still be delivering to the same standard Martin has achieved. You're making out sacking wonderful Russell will leave us in a sea of regret while we pine for the genius we've lost. Nope. He's appalling, once he goes we never need think of him ever again. Anyway, he'll be fine bEcAuSe hE'Ll gO tO sOmEoNe LiKe BaYeRn LiKE wHaT KoMpAnY dUN

Sheffield United sacked their manager on 5th December last year so yeah let's go with that. Top of the Championship now.
-
We weren't "in this position" last time. When Ralph was sacked he had secured 12 points from 14 games, so it was a perfectly plausible prospect that a decent replacement could go on and keep us up. Jones of course was not that. The situation we are in today is nothing like that. We are being managed by one of the very worst dogshit managers in Premier League history. Russell Martin has relegated us before the advent calendars come out. The next guy is not going to be here to magically keep us up - he won't, we're down already, so they will get patience and slack. We build for next season and as others have said, can we stave off the abject humiliation of Derby County's record.
-
"the third, fourth and fifth goals against us weren't the managers fault" is not the slam-dunk defence of Russell Martin you think it is.
-
Managed by a shit mid-table Championship level manager who lucked out with an expensively assembled squad last year.
-
They are your example not mine.
-
Bottom of the league with 5 points in December.
-
@Lighthouse has used Sheffield United as an example of a model club we should take learnings from. Last season they sacked their manager on December 5th 2023. As anyone with an advent calendar will know, December 5th is tomorrow. This is the moment and a moment everyone can agree on. The axe must fall.

The greatest era in our history.

Yes that's right. There only bad result we've had is against Chelsea. He's been fucking outstanding in all those other matches this season.
-
There's still time.
-
Wolves probably in the market for a new manager come the morning.
-
Agree.
-
Just imagine that there is a Saints fan watching Chelsea smashing the bar and missing open goals who in the coming days will write a post on here about how unlucky we've been all season.
-
We've still got Russell's inexplicable substitutions to look forward to.
-
Pulling someone's hair is the literal opposite of brave.
-
60+ goals conceded last season. Russell Martin 60+ conceded in his other two Championship seasons. 28 goals conceded in 13 and a half games, 3+ multiple times. Bingo indeed.
-
They are going to pull away after half time when we run out of steam. 1-7 incoming.
-
Not surprising Cameron Archer ran out of steam just then. He couldn't see his options to work it back to the keeper from there.
-
We've done that thing we never ever do again.
