  1. Not yet. He's building up to it. Him going on about "scar tissue" from a relegation that happened four months and a pre-season and a transfer window ago is laying the groundwork.
  2. 100% this. Was an absolutely fabulous couple of days. Even though we did not have a significant budget we ended up in the same hotel as the team. Which was nice.
  3. Russell Martin desperately trying to build a narrative of "oh, actually, come to think of it, finishing 9th would be like really good after the last few seasons". So he can then pivot next season to "well we can't possibly compete with these Premier League clubs that have just come down". He's achieved nothing as a manager and he will achieve nothing with us. His fall from grace post transfer window is absolutely spectacular.
  4. I think a pretty dopey comparison. Champions League ties are a bigger deal than Europa and playing Saints in that competition would, for Milan fans, be comparable to us having a home tie with Yeovil in the League Cup. Without even looking can pretty much guarantee that Newcastle sold whatever allocation they got. Pretending that Newcastle couldn't easily sell 7,000 at the San Siro is just a ridiculous premise.
  5. When he got the job it was clear he had achieved nothing as a manager. Nothing. We are now seeing why. Absolutely catastrophic appointment.
  6. We haven't "sold everything that wasn't nailed down". Tella was obviously going on the day we were relegated so I don't know why anyone was remotely surprised he went.
  7. Except they didn't do that, did they. Clearly there are issues but there's no point talking nonsense.
  8. Maybe desperately clinging on to Che Adams wasn't that important after all.
  9. We are never ever ever ever going to score.
  10. #martinout is trending on Twitter. But it's about the Southend United chairman. At the moment.
  11. Nice from Aribo then.
  12. Down to 11th place in the as it stands table. Commonly known as "The Russell Martin Zone".
  13. Yes, he said that in the press conference.
  14. Since last Friday we have raised our game to "mediocre".
  15. Roku box. I just searched my phone and doesn't seem to be there, there's no bonus streams bit and nothing in the football sections. You can rewatch the Leicester match though....
  16. Didn't know that, genuinely thought I'd searched everywhere. Thanks
  17. Just the two cente backs on the bench, lads.
  18. That team is so insufferably shite the only outcome is a shock victory.
  19. There are plenty of things I could do at work and be sacked for, that aren't in any way illegal. People rabbiting on about "tried by a jury of his peers" and all that shite, like that's the only moral guidance there is in this country. If you're not convicted by a court you're "innocent" and can do whatever the fuck you like to whoever you like whenever you like. Sorry lads, not so. If people really want to talk about the sanctity of the justice system, then on the other side of it is the libel courts. It's all made up by evil journalists and these girls are all liars. Fine, Russell Brand can have his moment in court and win a libel action. Being that he's, like, the hero of the story and the real victim here, he'll win no problemo.
  20. I'm hoping they'll be a full minutes applause across the whole stadium after 11 minutes. Just to make the away fans think we are commemorating the death of an former beloved winger, or marking a fundraising drive for an poorly 11 year old. Nah, we're just delighted we've made it this far without conceding.
  21. He's trying to do something different that no one has ever tried before or something
  22. The Swansea players still learning it.
  23. Swansea - two seasons, goals against 64 and 68. So you can be pretty sure that Martin and his team do not know how to play this system and not concede goals. Wilcox not coaching the team so irrelevant.
  24. We should recruit Chris Hughton?
  25. I don't believe any mainstream front line commentator or pundit has ever said anything like "if he was that good he'd been snapped up by now". He's had an excellent start at his new club and that's an interesting angle, that's all.
