we really needed a rb for this more than any other game. richarlison will run riot against us not the game you want to be breaking up the cm pair either as everton are strong and physical there wouldnt mind seeing forster as some have already mentioned. think mccarthys level and confidence has dropped recently

redmond had a good game yes. and his past few performances have been good as well. but that doesnt mean his criticism in the past is unfair. nobody has ever doubted what he brings to the team defensively, its his contribution in the final thirds that people have questioned. and in my opinion rightly so. brought in as a winger and a creative player, he has shown what he can achieve which has no doubt also upped many of our expectations of him. but his levels have dropped and his numbers show that. more than happy to be proved wrong if he goes on a run now

cant see it happening im afraid. nailed on starter for leipzig this year where he has really pushed on and become a key player, regular champions league football, probably on a fairly high wage from city as well. if city do end up letting him go he will have his suitors, but leipzig probably end up buying him. a shame because he is exactly the sort of player we need on the left. how many chances does redmond pass up each game?

yes that is fair enough and jwp certainly would have improved our midfield. but if before the game you were going to say to me valery would play 90 mins against grealish i would not be confident.

i think what most people are missing about ralphs decision to play jwp over valery is rather simple: start the game with valery against arguably the leagues best winger with ball at feet or go with jwp who has played there before and done very well. the palace game 1v1 against zaha comes to mind. i think ralphs decision here is justified and it is the safe option, especially with romeu coming back and diallo playing so well up till then then another decision with jwp on a yellow and with the game at 1-0 down, he either brings on valery or make the more 'attacking' move and bring on djenepo. he goes with the later which is slightly harder to justify but i think it still isnt a bad decision. in the end ralph clearly has doubts on valery defensively and i feel the choices he made werent unwarranted
