Agreed re timing. People away or about to go on holiday (at some cost), others delaying until the July credit card bill is out of the way, the influence of the final few new signings and the increasingly imminent first league game will all have a bearing.

Squad player, but will be 4th or 5th choice pretty soon. He hss not been first pick in the starting 11 for a while now. Sentiment is for losing teams surely. We need more substitutes and we need cover but that's where his role will be limited to. As for the contract, among other things, it stops players walking way for nothing who otherwise would command a reasonable fee

No disrespect to Ed, glad to hear he is a v keen Saints fan etc, but I think anyone of us could have said that!

I suspect that, as an incentive, unless season ticket hokders rack up enough points, they won't be allowed in on match days

very sorry, must be pretty rough for you

Collecting renewals / providing evidence of age, student status etc

Just got through on the phone after only 2 mins on hold. Bought one new seat for my lad, next to my renewed one. All very easy. Phew!

Been to Maidenhead Utd a few times. Standard is not high but its cheap, friendly, with a quirky ground that they OWN and it's 5 mins walk from the town with plenty of pubs nearby. On the subject of the ground, they have owned it for over 100 years. There are major redevelopment plans for Maidenhead and the council assumed, without checking, that the club would sell up, seeing as they are slap in the middle of prime retail land. The Club said get lost, try and make us, never selling, been here since 1890 something. Or something like that. Brilliant!

What a complete shambles our ticket office is!!

just a quick word to PRAISE the ticket office. My sister had a season ticket last year but died of cancer sadly (mid 40s). I asked if I could renew her seat. I was not 100% hopeful but thought it was worth asking. The ticket office at St Marys came back very quickly. Of course they wanted some evidence of what had happened, my relationship to her etc - fair enough. A copy of the death certificate was handed over at 3pm today, by 4pm they had updated all the customer and seating systems (old and new), linked the two previous customer numbers, taken my payment and I am the proud owner of my sister's seat. Well done Saints, very friendly and efficient and frankly they did not have to agree at all. Thanks to them and to my sister. COYR -
Rangers' administration vs Portsmouth's vs Ours
Bucks Saint replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
The major difference is that PFC owe most of their cash to former owners, who hold some security on all the land around the stadium. This has a double impact: first, they can outvote HMRC (who would like nothing more than to extinguish every last breath from PFC) as they have a clear vested interest in preventing liquidation; but secondly, the very future of PFC, other than to somehow continue the crazy cycle of the last few years, hinges on clearing these secured creditors, buying the land around the ground, and then giving the ground the much overdue redevelopment, including installing some hostility boxes. For me, without a major and genuine benefactor (unlike the money launderer / I can smell some big profit from the real estate plan - type they have had recently) the combination of playing contracts, huge creditor pay off and stadium rebuilding needs means they are doomed longer term, i just dont now when. Rangers meanwhile, if they dont get into div 1, may well apply to join the Conference or League 2. If their income and profile is going to be Scot Div 3 then they have not much to lose by applying to join the enlglish leagues and within a few years, they could leave Celtic far behind. Just a thought! (EDIT - just seen the previous post, sorry. Others thinking the same then!) -
Swap for Puncheon = yes ok. Otherwise, no ta

Bit extreme to make yourself "light of foot" IMHO but each to their own

I would rather pay £32 or whatever its going to be against Wigan thanks. Its our first home premier league game in 7 years, and its worth 3 points, and there is a decent chance we will win and get those points.

cr&p, I have been trying very hard to forget that one

Oh yes that Oldham 0 Saints 6 game. Freezing January midweek night, snow around, so low turnout no surprise. Six different scorers, all from open play too! Great atmosphere, will remember that one for ever + proud to have been there

I wondered where my two had got to. Please send them on to me, thanks -
No thanks

er, no thanks. based on personal experience over different seasons

Its a toughie. If you want lots of atmosphere, go join the Yoof in the Northam. Just be prepared for constant standing up / sitting down with the largered up leery lads and fights with our own supporters if you get it wrong by a split second. I agree that the halfway line is a great place to be if you have a serious hangover induced headache, but you need a lottery win to be there, as well as not to take any food wrappers that might rustle. So the Itchen North has some serious advantages, not least the proximity to the away fans for much merriment, but you will be at a handy 90 degree angle to them so can firmly concentrate on looking at the pitch and not at them if we are getting spanked.

Can I try another one: does anyone know the club's attitude to renewals of season tickets by family members, where the existing holder has passed away? My sister died last September and while the season ticket was used from October onwards, renewal is now upon the family. I would hope it would not be a problem but dont want to ask the club just yet. NB the wake was held in the Matt Le Tiss suite and the club and staff were absolutely great.

If you must know. Mrs B decided to start sha##ing a guy she met through work. No great looker but worth £1m. Hmmm Oh, he dumped her a year later and moved on a younger model

Agreed, I have shared mine in the past without any problem. Until we have retina scans at the turnstile we are OK. Anyway, nOn transferable means I am not able to sell my ticket to someone else after 3 months, or at least that's what I am sticking to!

Sorry if this is posted deep in the other season ticket threads... I moved away to marry some years ago and kept up my season tickets. But following a divorce, I let them lapse, as I have a son who does not live with me. He is now 12 and having been to a 8-10 games per season for the past five or six, we would like to buy season tickets, but will not be going to perhaps 50% of home games (will attend some away games though). Mates either go to every game or are not able to afford to go at all. I am sure I have read how many others are finding it hard to justify season tickets, due to some weekend working etc. Does the idea of sharing two season tickets work for anyone? Ideally one adult and one under 17 ticket but open to discussion. As we dont have the Barcelona system of being able to resell season tickets through the club for individual matches, I am struggling to think of another way of not wasting a huge slug of cash. I appreciate the difficulties of agreeing who gets which games, fixture changes for tv, and so on but I think I could make it work. Any other helpful suggestions? PM me if any genuinely interested. Thanks
