  1. Last time we won on the opening day was 2013 I believe so we must be due another one, surely!?!?
  2. Haha quite a change overnight for him! He ended up president of the Bulgarian FA!
  3. I remember when Championship at the time Reading signed the Bulgarian 1994 World Cup 'Golden Glove' winner (Bobby Mikhailov). People couldn't believe it, but then it quickly became apparent that he wasn't very good at all and had simply had a freak tournament playing behind the stellar team they had at that time. He was then 'injured' almost every week to avoid playing. To top things off, he wore a wig!
  4. Robert Sanchez - Brighton > Chelsea Joe Lumley - Free Agent > Saints Welcome to Brighton Alex McCarthy! 😀
  5. Surely he has no business being a goalkeeper then? Have I lost touch of the game so much that we no longer need goalkeepers who can stop the ball going in the back of the net.
  6. I had a lot of positive comments when wearing the yellow one at Parkrun last weekend!
  7. Is it bizarre though? Bottom line is Newcastle (and I think many of us) acknowledge that Tino has far greater potential than Tella. I do feel a bit for him though in that Burnley, at least at this moment, don't appear to value him highly enough to make a permanent move for him.
  8. Hell of deal for Livramento, even when taking into account Chelsea's cut. Signed for £5m > made 30 appearances (several as sub) > Sold for £32m+.
  9. That’s the spirit, let’s hope the positivity remains long after 20:01 tomorrow!
  10. LOL didn’t he die recently? Doubt he’s running businesses from beyond the grave!
  11. Think you may have your wires crossed a little. VVD was great in that 3-0 win against Leicester, and then Vardy crocked him meaning season over (which probably also cost us the League Cup). Over the following summer he lost his head completely, went on strike and then returned looking like a terrible tribute act with 0% enthusiasm prior to forcing his way out by the New Year. The 1-4 defeat against Leicester that I linked above was a few weeks before he left (he wasn't injured at all then).
  12. Nope, that was the day things all turned sour and he cited that injury as one of the reasons for pushing forward with a move away from Saints. The game in question was this one...
  13. Very different situation IMO. Martin effectively had two price tags and both sides feel very strongly that their interpretation was right. I fully understand why Saints took the view we were a Championship club given that we had already been relegated when we first approached them. Lavia is our player plain and simple and the only 'right' price is the one we have put on him.
  14. Thinking again about the hilarious 'Free Nathan Tella' campaign doing the rounds yesterday, I think I remember Liverpool fans doing something similar with VVD in that period where he effectively signed out of playing for us with anything like 100% effort.
  15. I feel so ashamed to support a club that forces these poor players to sign contracts that pay them a fortune to play football and then get's all moody because a nice club like Burnley doesn't feel like paying what we value them at to end said contract early. #justicefortella
  16. Our home record is absolutely mental.
  17. Was it a Welsh accent?
  18. Did you see this video of Brighton from the other day? I guess this is what we're trying to do, but my word it's not comfortable to watch! https://fb.watch/m4S58NzAp1/
  19. It’s a bit like buying a house really isn’t it. Everyone has to wait patiently for things to fall into place (hopefully).
  20. Just got it in the post today, it's an absolute belter!
  21. Absolutely right. Unless deals are at advanced stages, or their heads aren't in the right space, then not playing them is simply us waiving the white flag so to speak.
  22. Not taking this too serious, but it's hilarious really. Our relatively strong financial position, plus JWP's long-standing bond with the club means he would always command top dollar. If the reports are true that the club didn't exercise the relegation wage deduction then it's absolutely clear to me that (a) we will only sell if a huge offer comes in and (b) both the player and club are content to remain together until at least January.
  23. Like the yellow best personally! You use the buttons below 👇🏻
  24. Ok now we’re talking!
  25. I agree! *nods head approvingly*
